To Have and To Hold

The ship was quiet in the night as it drifted through hyperspace, it was almost never quiet during the days when the kid was awake – when his and Faith's kid was awake. He had so much energy in him, always doing what he wanted to do and just smiled at you when he had done something. It made it so difficult to stay mad at him, scolding him was one thing, but staying mad at him for more than a few minutes wasn't easy. Staring out the window into hyperspace he hummed to himself as he remembered when Victor tried to make his hair the same colour as his mothers hair. He had used red paint to try and get the same fiery red colour that Faith's hair is, Nathaniel remembered the face that Faith had when she saw what their son had done. How she had looked at him doing making a mess using the red paint, scowling at him for doing so – but the sweet and warm smile that she had because she loved her son so much. It warmed him up when he thought about it, and at the same time it just made him remember how terrible he was at being a father. He had continued taking jobs that was high risk for the thrills that they gave, and spent often weeks if not months away. Letting out a sigh he turned his attention to the door when he heard it open. Perhaps it was time for him to vanish from their lives.

One could hardly believe it's been over a decade since Nathaniel, Faith and Victor stepped on Glee Anslem. The Sith controlled world held both personal and private meaning not only for the former Jedi, but also for her husband. The first met on Glee Anslem when Faith was only a young woman, but didn't properly know each other. Years, later after they wed, Nathaniel connected the dots, and made the little known fact to Faith. Since then, the pair made it a point to visit the special spot they first met. Something about that place always seems to rekindle a special meaning between the pair.

The journey back to the infamous planet was a success. Faith finalized and completed a personal side job with a Sith contact, while Nathaniel did his fatherly duties. To be honest, Faith was a bit relieved that Nathaniel's finally taken interest in spending quality time with Victor.

"Oh, it's just you."
The voice of none other than Faith echoed through the tiny hallway.

Judging by the look on Nathaniel's face, he was about to do two things- one vanish yet again for an foreseeable amount of time. Two, whisper sweet nothings in her ear- in hopes of easing off a terrible news. If the latter, Faith will finally break the news of the divorce to him. If the former, she would give him one more chance to make amends. Regardless of the Nathaniel's stands, something would need to be done concerning their child, and importantly relationship.

Faith patiently waited for which one it would be this time, as she watched her man walk through the open door towards her direction.
