Tom Clancy passes away at 66

Writer of books, games and movies Tom Clancy died in a hospital yesterday morning. I am personally a huge fan of all his works, not sure how many others around here are.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn that's sad. I liked his older works a lot better than his new ones, but still sad. Him and David Eddings really gave me a lot of my love for reading when I was a teen.

Not really a fan of his books, but his games take place in my favorites list.

That... is really surprising. He's a writer that I've always respected, since he has the patience (and the money to) to spend a ton of time writing, revising, reviewing, and critiquing his work before it gets published. It seemed as though every book he churned out has something that draws the reader in.

I love him, but he never actually wrote any of his games or movies; those were done by separate entities he sold the rights to.

Do we know how he died? What happened to him? D:

It's unclear what Tom Clancy's level of involvement is in the games holding his namesake. Clancy did co-found Red Storm Entertainment, which is now a subsidary of Ubisoft.

So far as I know, they have declined to say past he died in a hospital.

Probably a foreign non-english speaking assassin of some sort that'll spark World War III with Splinter-Cell operatives needing to save the world and end it all prematurely. Hence why they won't disclose.
