With a soft sigh, Zavii relented, relaxing just a bit. Kai's confidence was just as unwavering as hers could get to be. She only hoped that it had nothing to do with the fact that the boy was touching her mind... no, that couldn't be it. He was, after all, no older than herself, and unlikely to have the ability to Forcefully change her mind.

She crossed her arms and looked to Roush as Kai addressed the seated boy.
"I know a safe place not too far away where we can train. So, what do ya say? Wanna practice and learn a few new tricks? Maybe make some friends?"
"If you play nice and mind your manners." The girl added with the lighthearted tone that her mother would use just after a scolding, but just before a treat.

Just then, Zavii's brow furrowed and she cocked her head a couple degrees. Finally, the other presence -undoubtedly a Jedi, now that she had had time to properly examine it- had decided to make his move. Her ghostly pale eyes shifted out of focus as she let him get closer and hail the trio. With a turn quick enough to make her cape-like cloak sway about her ankles, she locked her eyes upon the approaching young man. Dark eyes, dark hair, pale skin, check. He was Human, clearly. Had she been born without her gifts she might have found his scar, coupled with his considerable height, intimidating. As it was, his relative youth, the fact that he felt a mite less potent than Kai or herself, and the decidedly passive hue of his robes were the final nails in the coffin that buried her previous unease.

Zavii greeted the newcomer with a warm smile and the following words,
"Actually, you're just in time. My friend and I were just about to do some training! Or was it recruiting?" She aimed the question at Kai, trusting that he wouldn't mind a last-minute addition to their nonexistent roster.

Train? He never thought about doing any of that. He wasn't the type of person to... you know, be physical. He was usually the guy that sat out of gym class. But these guy's wanted to train with him. Or, to full his suspicions, train him. What did the see in him? Why did complete strangers so interest in him? Why would they want to train with him? He went back and forth throughout his mind. He looked down at himself. Really?

"...I guess I could come with you guy's to train... There's nothing to do anyway, I guess... But I'm not what you'd call a physical speciman or anything. I'm not a soldier. He thought of his father when he said that. His head dropped a little when he said that.

"And I do play nice." He said a little annoyed, puffing his cheeks a little. "People just irritate me..." He didn't want to offend these guy's. He noticed the girl's hand near her weapon before the dark haired guy showed up. Who were these weird people that showed up around him? He seemed to be attract strange people today. He put his datapad in his pocket and decided to stand up. He was pretty much the tallest one there. Was he the youngest? He would have to ask them later how old they were. They couldn't have to much older then him. Kai matched him pretty well. But he was obviously more physically fit. Roush was a walking twig. He hadn't fully come into his body yet, his awkwardness probably made him look uncoordinated and weird. Ah! It aggravated him to no end. He was just so different then other people.

"...Hey new guy. You wouldn't be the first person to sneak up today, so don't feel like your left out or anything." He tried to make a joke, but it came out a little rough. He didn't really care. At least he tried to be friendly. If not only to show the grey haired girl that he could be. He hated to be proven wrong so he would have to show her up... Or, was that exactly what she wanted him to do? Sith-spit!

Kai raised an eyebrow at Roush, but he didn't say anything. The new boy... man? Had joined them from the corner he was hiding in, so Kai figured it would be a good time to introduce himself. Looking up at the rather tall person, Kai smiled politely. "Ah, I see the stranger joins us! You're not interrupting at all like my friend said. Nice to meet you, sir. What is your name? I am Kai, this is my friend Zavii, and the other is Roush. Would you like to train with us?"

Turning to face Zavii he whispered, "Probably a little bit of both, but we'll figure that part out later."

Facing the group he smiled brightly, "Don't worry, we won't be doing physical exercises strictly speaking. You wouldn't need to be a soldier. You just need to have a little bit of willpower, and patience. I have a feeling everyone here will be more or less capable of what I have in mind. This way!" Kai led those who wished to follow through he side streets of Theed for a few minutes letting them talk amongst themselves. After they had made their way to the outskirts, Kai led them into a secluded park with a fountain and a few ball courts. There was no one there, just as Kai had suspected. This park was built as a memorial to some old war hero from centuries past, and now it was mainly used as a short cut, although it was still maintain by the city of Theed. Looking around at the people with him Kai suggested they put some room in between them. "So, i figure we'd start with our core powers, sense and levitation. Does that sound good?" The question was more towards Zavii and the tall Padawan, he figured that he would have to show Roush everything step-by-step, but then again that's why there were three of them to one new guy. It made teaching easier.

Roush followed without a peep. He didn't want to start any trouble. He still didn't quite understand what they were training for, but he figured he would figure out later. I mean, why would these strangers waste his time? He still had it in the back of his mind that he was going to be wasting his time, but hey, at least it would kill some of his boredom. He would rather do something besides working on navi-computers all day. Anything was better than that. His uncle would probably work him to the bone later anyway, so maybe it was good for him to actually get out and do something.

Roush followed everyone else, trailing behind a little. He was prodding at his data pad as usual, taking in what he could learn. Or he was just bored. When they finally stopped, they were lead to a empty park. This was a open park but no one was here. He looked around a bit. If they were going to train, this is exactly the place to do it. At least he wouldn't embarrass himself in front of a crowd. He had to admit though, the sits and calming scene put him at ease a bit. The rush of the city made him feel like everything was busy. People and other species walking around, always with somewhere to go. Everyone with their own agenda's. It was a lot to take in. This place though, made him breath a little easier. A young kid around so many adults could make him feel claustrophobic.

"...Sense and levitation... Got it..." He wasn't so sure about this. He still hasn't really gotten to know whatever it was that he was feeling. He put his data pad away. He knew Jedi could do stuff like this. He heard the stories from his father about fighting with Jedi when he was with the Rebellion... But he was no Jedi. Not yet at least.

"Right so... We're going to fly?" He felt kind of weird saying that. Roush felt sort of embarrassed for asking. He didn't know if Jedi could fly or not... He never heard any stories of them not flying.

Zavii kept up with the group as Kai lead them through steadily less populated and less busy streets until they reached a quiet park. Looking around at the empty expanse of grass, she could almost forget that they were in a city at all. "Nice spot", she commented with a hint of reverence in her soft voice.

She perked up a bit when Kai announced the plan. Roush, however, seemed pretty nervous, which was probably normal for an untrained Force-Sensitive. She giggled a bit when the lanky boy asked about flight, but immediately tried to ease his concern.
"Not quite. I think he means levitating other things, you know... telekenesis. But don't worry, I can hardly even lift my lightsaber, so i'll be learning that part with you.

Zavii then stepped a few paces from the others and sat down, setting her saber right in front of her laterally.

"But I think we're starting with our senses, Right, Kai?

The teenage boy chuckled at the assembled trio. This would be a fun gathering to be sure. Nodding at Zavii he winked. "That's right, basic telekinesis. Levitating small stones and the like. Speaking of which..." Kai trailed off as he traveled over to the nearby pond and withdrew four rocks with the Force, levitating them around his head. Motioning for the other two to take a comfortable seat, Kai sat down next to his friend Zavii, who he would feel the most comfortable sitting next to. "And you are also right, Zavii. Before we can try and move stones, we first need to know what we're moving in the Force. That means we need to use our ability to sense the Force and sense things in the Force."

Pulling his legs in to a tight cross-legged position, Kai looked between the three others with him. "So, I'm not sure who here knows how to sense with the Force yet. If you do just be patient and work with me please and help the others here try and get a better understanding of the Force. Now, to get started let's all close our eyes and forget about our own physical sensations for once, but try and feel the Force. To do this, clear your minds, and try and meditate. Once you've done that see if you can hear the Force speaking to you, feel it flow through you. If you can feel that, try and sense the others around; try and sense me. See if you can get an idea of what I'm thinking about... If you can do that we'll move on with our exercises."

With that, Kai levitated the rocks before each one and set them down a few inches in front of them. Then he began to think on what a beautiful day it was.

Athran smiled as the boy... Girl? It didn't matter. Spoke to him and introduced the group and asked his name, and if he'd like to train with them. No doubt they'd figured out that he was force-sensitive and maybe that he was a Jedi. Either way, he decided to go along. "I'm Athran Cadarn. Pleased to meet all of you." he said, and continued."I'd be happy to train with you. I know I certainly need to brush up on my abilities, anyway."

He stayed mostly silent as they left to find somewhere quieter to train. He didn't really know them and he had nothing to say, getting lost in his own thoughts as the group walked. Eventually, they ended up in a park, doubtless part of the nearby war memorial that had long since faded into the background for the inhabitants of Theed. The person who he had spoken to earlier declared that they would begin with a simple task of basic telekinesis and by extension l, sensing the living force around them. He didn't mind, and he hadn't yet gotten a master, he had at least moderate training in most basic aspects of the force. That didn't mean he was very good at it, however.

They began with a small rock each, drawn from a nearby pond. To lift it, you had to first find it, and know exactly what you were trying to do, and what you were doing it to. He had found the group while practicing this and so did exactly what he did earlier. Relaxing, he took a slow, deep breath and opened his mind to everything around him. At first it was silent and dark, but soon he could feel a plant, and then an animal, and then the rest of the group and the rock he would be supposed to lift. He focused in on Kai, hearing faint thoughts and feelings emanating from him, quiet at first as he tried to listen in on them. It was difficult. Trying to listen to someone's thoughts was almost like trying to hear someone whispering across a noisy street. He could make out some things, barely. Something about some day. Today? Maybe. Maybe not. Still, he couldn't quite make out anything else apart from that snippet. Reading minds, after all, can't be too easy.

The light-haired girl unclipped her cloak and let it fall to the grass behind her while Kai went to retrieve a few stones from the stream a little ways from their small group. Settling into a relaxed pose with her back straight and legs crossed, she shut her eyes and emptied her mind of stray thoughts. By the time her slender friend sat beside her, Zavii was fully still, focused only on the steady flow of her breath and the energy it carried.

A second later, Kai sat beside her and began the lesson proper. Focusing on his voice, she felt the waves of sound as they traveled through the air between the boy's lips and her ear. As she increased her focus on the spaces in between each particle, her mind's eye flashed with sparks of clarity here and there. A tendril of Force then snaked toward her and set a pebble upon the ground. Knowing that this must be an extension of Kai's will, the Zavii used this display of power to expidiate her sensory expansion, raising her awareness to encompass a large part of the park, all the way to the stream a few meters out.

Now that Zavii had immersed herself in the Force, she could easily tell exactly where all the others were, and as Kai instructed, she focused on his presence beside her. He felt warm like the sunlight that fell on her face. Pressing deeper yielded a deeper calm which the girl could only attribute to his meditative state. Any thoughts, however, were still too tightly knit within his aura to discern.
This would take more practice.

The Jedi had given Ked his freedom, but now he had no idea what to do with it.

Dropped off on Theed and left to his own devices, Ked had slowly been forced to make his own decisions for a change. At first he had struggled with what to order for lunch, but he encountered many other struggles as well, such as what to do with all of his spare time.

Often, Ked would find himself thinking about his parents, and how his own grief and ultimately caused their deaths. Then he would grow restless, and throw himself to the beautiful city's endless streets.

Most Jedi needed silence and meditation to calm themselves and focus on the Force, but Ked needed movement; he needed action. Ked spent most of his time running randomly through the streets. His strong, yet surprisingly nimble, body would streak down the pavement, hurdling over small obstacles on the way. He took careful care not to run over any walking pedestrians, but there were a couple close calls. Sometimes an innocent walker would be forced to leap out of Ked's way, and several confused heads would turn to see just what Ked was running from.

Soon Ked's mind would begin to wander, and the soreness in his muscles would relieve the pain inside his conscience. Then, and only then, would he be able to access the Force. Ked was not very talented or experienced, but he could guide the Force's flow inside his body, adding power to his leaps and energy to his limbs. Sometimes Ked would even be able to sense the world around him through the Force, allowing him to feel what awaited him around every corner before he made his turn.

However, Ked was able to focus on the flow of the Force for so long, and it was only a matter of time before his concentration faltered. He was running one afternoon, when his concentration faltered just as he was vaulting over a pretty wall constructed of many differently coloured stones. Whilst Ked had no trouble clearing the wall, he was completely surprised to land with a splash instead of a thud.

He let out a startled skriek as he landed in a shallow pool of cold water. After a brief moment of confused struggle, Ked sprang up and out of the shallow pool and landed on his feet on the edge of the water. He did his best to shake the water off of his pelt as his eyes curiously peered around the city park he had accidently vaulted into.

Ked's attention focused in on a small group of humans who were gathered in a small group not far away from where he was standing. The group was curiously silent and still, further intensifying Ked's intetest; however, it did not take Ked long to realize that the group he was peering at were all Jedi padawans. Wondering what they were uo to, the burly Kushari approached the group with a friendly gait. His spotted gray ears stood up and attentive and his yellow eyes glowed with mischief as he opened his jaws and introduced himself in broken Basic, littered with the occasional low-key pur.

"Hey. Are you guys Jedi too?". This was the first time Ked had actually met another Jedi padawan. "My name is Ked", he continued, "What are you doing here?"

As he meditated quietly with his group of fellow Padawans Kai could sense the nearby presence of another Force Sensitive. This Sensitive was a big one, and by big he meant physically large. What more he could sense the presence drawing closer to them. Suddenly there was a splash, and Kai opened his eyes. "It's alright everyone. No need to be alarmed; go back to your meditation. I'll handle this." He insisted telepathically to the group there with him.

As the Kushari approached them Kai looked up at the large grey-and-spotted cat and smiled politely. He didn't like it when random strangers approached and inquired if they were Jedi, whether or not the stranger was a Jedi themself. Kai found it to be blunt and risky given the current circumstances. He only said it to strangers when there was no obvious way to communicate that he was a Jedi. "Yes, we are Jedi. I take it you are as well? It's nice to meet you Ked, I am Kai. We are currently meditating and trying to feel the with the Force. Why don't you join us? Do you have any training with sensing with the Force?"

Ked nodded his head when asked if he was a Jedi too. "Nice meeting you, Kai".

He nodded his head vigorously when Kai invited Ked into the meditation session. Ked himself was not a fan of meditation, but meditation was a neccessary part of Jedi training. At least Ked thought meditation was a neccessary part of Jedi training, because honestly, he had no clue.

Ked sat down on the grass beside the other padawans. He was slightly distracted by their intense focus and concentration, but soon turned his attention back to the padawan who had spoken to Ked.

Shaking his head, Ked answered, "I just started my training, but the Force sometimes gave me warnings back on Zygerria...". Ked's voice fell away. On Zygerria, the Force had frequently gifted Ked with warnings of slaver patrols and hunting parties, and Ked's instincts had been crucial in him and his fellow escaped slaves, including his parents, in getting as far as they did. Unfortunately, the Force had eventually failed Ked, which had resulted in the slaughter of his parents.

Turning his mind back to the present, Ked's ears perked up. "So, how do I get started?"

"Ah, so you're new as well. Excellent. All skill levels are welcome here." Kai smiled as he levitate the rock over to in front of Ked placing it before him like he had done with the other three. As the large cat asked how to get started Kai smirked and nodded as he began to repeat what he had said earlier for the new student. "Well to get started we're doing a basic meditative exercise. Work on clearing your mind and breathing. Once you've done that try and feel the Force around you. See if you can hear it whispering to you. If you can get that done see if you can feel it interacting with other things. This is the basis of using the Force to sense other things around us. We can use this to sense things about other people like their attitude or disposition. Once you think you can feel the Force try using it to feel other people. Start with me and see if you can tell what I'm thinking about. After that try feeling the stone before each of you. Feel how the Force moves around and through the stone. Only after you know your stone do I want you to try and lift it by manipulating the Force to move the rock. But that might be a little too much, so don't feel bad if you have trouble; just give it your best shot. And if any of you have an experience that works better for you feel free to share!"

With that Kai began focusing on and feeling his lightsaber hilt.

Zavii's concentration was broken by a sudden disturbance in the flow of the stream, followed by splashing and a strange bestial shriek. Her eyelids tore open and the sheltered young Human beheld an great predatory being juxtaposed with the new presence who's appearance shattered the calm of the park. She had never seen a sentient like this one before, but she kept her seat as the towering, furry creature approached the small circle of Padawans.

Soon the fact of this "Ked"'s harmlessness became apparent. Once it did, the girl shut her eyes again and refocused upon her Force sense. Reaching out to Kai again, she started again to examine his aura. Already he was focused, and she thought she could feel his lightsaber and his connection with it. His focus upon it, stretched like a web of intent between weapon and warrior so thick that it was only just distinguishable from him. Digging deeper, the girl tried to ride this web further into the mind of the boy next to her...

Ked eagerly sat down beside the other padawans. His mouth gaped open as he watched Kai casually levitate the rock down in front of Ked. Hopefully, in the future, Ked would be able to do tricks like that as well. He closed his eyes, as instructed, and attempted to let the subtle whispers of the Force come to him.

Closing his eyes so tight that the fur on his brow grew wet with sweat. Ked concentrated hard on the world aroundhim. Unfortunately, the only sound he heard was the wind as it breezed through the trees, and the gentle breathing of his fellow padawans. Focusing on their breathing, Ked steadied his own. It was several minutes before the Force came to him, but when it did, his ears did not hear subtle whispers, instead his ears heard silence as his soul became attuned to the natural ebb and flow of the Force

Ked's eyelids relaxed. He felt the Force run through his body like electricity through a pool of water. Never had he felt so alive. Expanding his focus outwards, Ked felt the Force as it flowed through the air he breathed, and the grass he sat on. He focused on the rock. The Force flowed through it more slowly than it did through Ked or the grass, but he still felt the flow. Taking in a deep breath, Ked prepared himself for the next step.

Kai could feel Zavii's presence quite distinctively as she probed her way into his mind. He did not resist her, or try and play a joke on her, even though he could have easily projected something back into her own mind with his own telepathic skills. Willingly, Kai let Zavii feel her way around and discover what she wanted to know. With this in mind Kai continued to focus on his blade for the moment and the Solari crystal housed in its hilt. The memories of his time on Orto Plutonia gaining the crystal flooded back to him. After a few minutes Kai changed his focus from his crystal to reaching into the minds of the Padawans there with him.

Once he was sure he had a connection and the ability to assert some influence over them Kai began by projecting an illusion of a stone in front of him. The stone looked very similar to the other stones that the others had in front of them. "Feel the Force around you, how it flows and how it grows. How it interacts with us, and the ponds, the grass, the stones. Feel the stones, focus on them. Once you are certain you can feel the way the Force interacts with the stone in front of you try and pick it up simply with the Force. Try imagining it rising up in front of you. Once you do that see if you can use the Force around you, start small if you have trouble with the rock. Try just listening to it and hear what it says to you. It might give you a hint as to what to do."

The sudden ripple of Ked's focus igniting within the Force almost went unnoticed by Zavii as she followed the winds of Kai's focus through some hazy memories of... a crystal. The crystal of his lightsaber, it must be! She traced that thought into the details of the stone itself. She could make out the feeling of the stone, it's edges and smooth sides almost like she had it wrapped in her own fingers. With a bit more effort, she found that the sensation evolved into that of holding the boy's lightsaber in her hand, the bright little gem shining from it's snug mount within.

Just then, Kai started to instruct the new arrival and Zavii felt a portion of his focus ripped away in order to help the large being. That was when Zavii realized just how difficult accessing another's memory was. It took a huge effort to keep the phantom lightsaber in her mind, and the girl began to feel sweat escaping her pores. After a couple of sentences, she realized that she was reaching her limit. Digging her astral heels into the dirt of Kai's senses, she imagined moving her thumb over the small switch about halfway up the hilt. With the most taxing nudge she had ever produced, the shorter Human was herself staring at a brilliant shaft of energy, which soon enveloped her whole mind.

Exhausted, Zavii let her mind clear as she retracted and centered her being to her own body. With a deep breath and a loud sneeze ("ah-Chah!") she returned to her 'normal' senses and fell onto her back, stretching her arms and legs out so she could relax for a few seconds. She found her breath to be a bit labored while her hair and face were nearly dripping with sweat. Thankfully there was the soft Naboo wind to cool her off a bit. Worried that she may have broken the others' concentration, the girl propped her elbows on the ground and looked up at the others...

"It's all...connected", Ked realized out loud, his voice a mere whisper full of serenity and awe. There was no clear way of describing the Force's movements as it flowed through the park and washed over its inhabitants. Some might describe it as an ever-flowing river, full of both life-giving waters and body-shattering rocks. Others described the Force as a series of tiny invisible strings that connected everything and everyone, where a single pull possessed the potential to shape the physical properties of the universe more to one's liking.

Ked, however, could not perceive the Force in either of those ways. Instead, Ked felt the Force through he movements of the wind and the steady beating of his fellow padawans' hearts. The rock in front of Ked had no heartbeat, but the Force pulsated through it nonetheless. Following Kai's instructions, Ked forced more deeply on the small grey rock. Soon he could feel each and every vibration of the rock as the Force calmly travelled tbrough the lonely stone.

Next, Ked attempted to move the rock. First, he imagined a large hand manifesting in the sky and lifting the rick up, but the stone remained still. Then he imagined the Force altering its flow and gathering under the rock before shooting up like a fountain, but the rock remained still. Ked took a deep breath before continuing with one last attempt. This time, he did not imagine anything. Instead, he saw.

As Ked concentrated his efforts on raising the stone, he felt, rather than imagined, the Force gathering around it. There was no need of a hand, because the Force already surrounded the stone and held it in a warm embrace. There was no need to redirect the flow, because the Force already flowed equally in every direction at once. Ked only needed to give it a nudge. He reached out with the Force, feeling it tremble slightly. He almost had it. He just needed a a couple more seconds of concentrated effort.

Then he heard a loud sneeze.

The Kushari's focus was instantly broken, and his eyes shot open to reveal the curious pupils underneath. He felt slightly disappointed by his own failure at moving the rock, but he knew he had given an honest and valiant attempt. No doubt he would get it next time.

"Bless-you", Ked said cheerfully to the female padawan who had sneezed and was now sitting propped on her elbows. "My name's Ked, what's yours?"

Ked did not mean to disturb the other padawans, but his greeting might have been spoken loudly enough to disturb the other them. In truth, Ked was glad to to be momentarily free of meditation. His tail had fallen asleep during the exercise, and now he gripped it in one of his clawed hands and shook it gently to get the blood flowing.

Hearing the Kushari make the realization caused Kai to smile. He could feel the Force all around them and feel the Padawans focusing in on it. Next to him, Kai could still feel Zavii trying to probe his emotions and feelings, his memories about his lightsaber. Without offering any real resistance, Kai figured he'd let the girl explore the full range of her abilities without requiring any more effort than was required. Of course if she tried to probe into something more personal or private he would resist her, and he knew how with his experience in telepathic communication with his master. Holding things back became just as easy as projecting them outward into the minds of others.

Feeling Zavii begin to struggle next to him, Kai sent out an easing aura that would help her relax if she let it. Reaching into her own mind, Kai was curious what she was trying to learn from him and he could easily tell that it was the color of his lightsaber's blade; her focus was so strong and singularly purposeful that it took little effort to reach into her senses and feel what she was doing. The color purple flashed through his mind as he sensed Zavii and he knew that she had found the answer she was looking for. With a smile on his face he watched as she seemed to relax a little as she retracted into herself. Telepathically, he sent a message to her, "Find what you were looking for?" Of course he knew the answer to the question, but he wanted to see what she would say in response. As she sneezed Kai noticed that Ked was distracted by it, but polite enough to say "bless you". As Zavii stretched out, he reached out an arm and patted her, "That was good, we can take a short break before we move on." He smiled as he manipulated the illusionary stone to appear to float around his head.

"Thank you, Ked. I'm Zavii. Sorry about that, I'm not used to hard Telepathy yet."
Having caught her breath, the young human sat upright again, planting her feet on the grass and resting her hands on her knees in front of her. She turned to look at Kai to answer his question.
"I think so. Tell ya what; just to be sure you show me yours and i'll show you mine. Fair?" Zavii said seriously as she took hold of her lightsaber and held it out between herself and Kai, with the emitter pointed harmlessly upward. She waited a second but pressed the switch on her own lightsaber regardless of his reaction. With a crisp SNAP and piercing HISS a bright, narrow shaft of light sprang from the gleaming hilt and stopped in an indistinct point after reaching the length of three hilts.
