training of Maotr Krahen

Maotr was happy. All around him was the beautiful architecture of the Jedi temple. He knew that he belonged here. It made him feel at peace. Maotr walked through the quiet halls, and thought about his future master. Rev Ultor, a respected Jedi Master. Well known among the order. Maotr felt honored to be his padawan. He walked into the training room and waited patiently for his master to arrive.

 

[Rev]

Short strides that seemed to carry the Jedi Master echoed throughout the halls of the Jedi Temple. Taking a turn down the training wing of the architectural masterpiece the same steps echoed through this hall. His very presence and being seemed to radiate that of the Jedi; pure lightside energy untainted by any outside thoughts of discrepancy or treason, he was a loyal Jedi amongst this Order. Coming to the doorway that was nearly at the end of the hall Rev gave it a quick up then back down glance. His hand resting on the soft stained wood, he gave it a soft push. The silence within the training room would not be broken by the properly taken care of entrance way as the Jedi Master slipped in behind Maotr. Giving his newest Padawan the smile of welcoming he gave almost all in his presence he couldn't help but give this one a respectable bow.

"Greetings, I'll be the first to welcome you to the Jedi Temple here on Ossus Maotr. If you have not yet been informed, I am Rev Ultor, Jedi Master of our great Jedi Order and I will be your trainer for the next several months, if not years."

He laughed casually and in a friendly demeanor that would only embrace his new-found pupil, or at least he would hope for. Pulling the brown cloak hood from his face the cowl would no longer hide his appearance. A young human male no older than 25 with not a spot of age on his face. A scar would cross from his left brown down across his eye and to just above his left cheek bone. Blue eyes would nearly glow from this Force user that seemed to only be even more accented by his dark hair. Uncrossing his arms his cloak would hang even more loosely on him now, his presence still radiating all that was pure in the universe.

"Tell me Maotr, why is it you wish to become a Jedi? A defender of peace and reason within this Galaxy, it is quite the role to fill, but looking into your future I'm positive you will be able to fill this position."

He shot a reassuring grin to this one before relaxing and waiting for an answer, just as patiently as he had entered the room and gone about introducing himself to this boy.

"I am honored to meet you, master, As for why I wish to become a Jedi, I have a few reasons: First, I want to have a position that makes use of my intelligence, not meaning to sound arrogant. Second, I wish to help other beings in this galaxy. There is so much war and problems around the galaxy, and I suppose this is true of anywhere, but I wish to do what I can to change it. Third, I want to learn more about the lightsaber, as I have had one, a gift from my grandfather which I felt honored but confused to receive, for several years." Maotr stood up and drew his grandfather's lightsaber. The blade of shimmering energy glowed green.

 

[Rev]

Rev smiled at Maotr's answers and looked at this lightsaber that the boy was holding. It was odd to his a Padawan so early holding the tool of the Jedi, he would not need it, yet.

"Give it to me Maotr, as I'm sure you haven't been trained in the basics of the lightsaber it is more deadly to yourself than to any other should a duel breakout. I'll hold onto it until you construct your own lightsaber, then it will be returned to you."

He smiled reassuringly, it was truth though, the boy would not need the tool for some time, unless he was already quite skilled in the ways of the Force.

"Do you know any of the core Force Powers my Padawan?"

Maotr shook his head and replied, "I once did a very weak force push, but other than that, no. But I am eager to learn." Maotr looked at the blade of his grandfather's weapon. Now realizing the true power of a lightsaber, after hearing his master's words, deactivated it carefully and handed it to master Ultor.

 

[Rev]

Clipping the tool to his belt Rev gave Maotr a nod and moved with the boy over to a training set. Looking at the various wooden blocks that were attached to a system by strings Rev pointed at a small block in the center.

"Focus is key in the Force, you must invision what you wish to happen, then act upon it through the Force. If you have done it before, this could be easy for you, or it could be quite difficult. Concentrate on that center block there, feel and see it move and it will do your bidding. This power is called Telekinesis and can be the most valuable tool you could ever learn my Padawan. Give it a try.."

Maotr closed his eyes and concentrated hard. With all his might, he focused on making the block move. He raised his hand and the block moved slightly. He focused harder, hard as he possibly could. The block began to move. Maotr was excited, but remained focused. then he slowly set the block back down.

 

[Rev]

Giving his Padawan a nod he pointed at the block next to the one he had just moved.

"Now Force Push, this is a technique where you manipulate the air particles near an object to move it with great speed. Give this a shot as well, you must Force far more greatly as this technique is leagues ahead of a subtle telekinetic movement. Concentrate on the block and see it sailing through the air, then it will do such."

Maotr nodded at his master. Focusing again, he pictured the block being pushed at an even pace across the room. He raised his hand, and pushed it forward. The block moved at nearly the exact speed he had intended it to. He tried to set it down, but it had gained too much momentum. It flew back, crashing into a few other blocks before slowly skidding to a stop.

Maotr looked self consciously at the floor. Then he looked at Master Ultor. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to apply so much force. I'll do better next time. He looked at his master, waiting for a rebuke.

 

[Rev]

"It was not bad, you accomplished the task my Padawan. Should you have wanted to push it lighter then you must focus and concentrate harder. I am simply pleased you were capable of the task. Now try again to see if you can do this Push the way you first intended. With practice you will get it down, I promise you that."

Maotr smiled, then concentrated again, trying to make his force lighter. The block shifted, then slowly moved across the room. Maotr smiled again. It was working. focusing harder, he brought the block to a stop, then sat down. "I need to sit down for a moment. I feel a little tired."

 

[Rev]

Rev nodded to Maotr then thought of another exercise for him to attempt.

"Meditation Maotr, have you ever done it?"

"No, master, but I have heard of it," Maotr said curiously. "Will you teach me how? I have heard it is a good way to heal and regain energy,"

 

[Rev]

Rev nodded to Maotr and motioned for him to walk over to the center of the room with him. Falling to his knees it was the meditation position the Jedi Master found most comfortable for himself.

"Take on a comfortable position, there are various positions you can take on, as long as you wont drift into a sleep, then it is okay."

He smiled at the boy and continued.

"Now close your eyes and focus on the Force, concentrate on one thing in your mind. Use this to harness the Force around you and fuel yourself, revitalize yourself with this and you will in time get the energy you have lost."

Doing this himself he softly spoke.

"If you have any troubles or any questions Maotr, feel free to ask, I am here to guide you."

Maotr nodded and sat in a normal cross legged position. He tried to push everything else away and just focus on the Force. Before long, he was focused, healing and revitalizing. Maotr felt better. When he opened his eyes, he realized he was floating. He floated back down and waited for his master to speak.

 

[Rev]

Opening his eyes slowly the Jedi Master stared at his Padawan. Smiling at the boy he could see the energy not only on his exterior, but sensed it within him. Taking in a breath the Jedi got to his feet and walked across the room slowly. Turning to the boy he spoke.

"Force Speed is key to a Jedi, not only will it quicken their attacks and defenses in times of need, but will also allow you to enhance your own traits in terms of agility and overall quickness. You must focus on yourself for this, strengthen not only your muscles but your connection to the Force through concentration."

Staring across the long room Rev pointed towards the door.

"Run there and back, then try Force Speed. If done correctly you will feel a considerable difference."

This was more complicated than a simple force push, but Maotr was going to try it. He began to run, focusing his muscles and his force energy. For a second he thought it hadn't worked. Then, all of a sudden he received a burst of speed and concentration. Maotr slowed himself down and walked over to Master Ultor.

 

[Rev]

Watching as his Padawan sprinted around the room at a vastly quicker speed all the Jedi Master could do was nod in approvement. He had a handle on the basics of the Force it would seem, there was still much to teach the boy, but the speed at which he was going along, he would be done in no time.

"Hmm... Force Sight... I don't believe I have taught you this technique yet.. are you ready to learn this talent?"

"Yes, master, but what is it? The name confuses me," said Maotr. He was curious.

 

[Rev]

Rev nodded and explained.

"It is a technique where you call upon the Force in order to see the objects around you. It is quite useful in dark areas along with seeing through walls and other objects one might not normally be capable of. You see everything is connected through the Force as you know, and with this comes a view of sorts where you can see things through the Force. Along with this you can single some objects out to better help yourself. Try it. Just reach out and let your mind find something through the Force, and then concentrate on this object."
