X'jan strode down the hall of The Will of The Force, looking for his new Master. Well, he was walking down the halls, hoping his Master was looking for him. He didn't know where to start looking.
He decided it would be better to sit and wait for his Master to find him, instead of stay mobile where his Master would only find him by chance. So, X'jan sat down, leaning his back against the wall, and practiced levitating his training lightsaber to the roof and back, ignoring odds looks he got from people passing by. He hoped lightsaber creation was in his training, because he had no idea where to start with one's construction.

''Padawan X'Jann''

Nikola Valtiere could not try to be inconspicuous. He was tall, even for the notoriously lofty Valtiere family. At a mighty seven feet tall, he was hard missed, and could easily see over the crowded corridor. Rather than the order's robes, he wore white sleeveless robes, embroidered with a black Kraken, a black armoured bodyglove underneath.

His student sat outside the room he would be trained, in, deigning to enter until summoned, it seemed. He stopped in front of the padawan, snatching the training weapon from the air in a deft motion.

He handed the padawan their weapon, helping them up from the ground.

''You will be training under me. Come.''

He strode through the door, pulling a large switch, lighting the room.

''Now, padawan. Tell me what you know, and what you wish to gain from my teaching. I shall help you become a knight worthy of our order.''

X'jan followed his new Master into the training room. Uncanny that he happened to sit outside the one he would be training in.
"What I know?" He asked himself, "Not much actually, I know a bit of Djem So, barely any to make much of an effect on my combat. I know some force powers too, Telekinesis, Force Speed, Strength, Force push. What I'd like to gain, well, I'd like to master Djem So, maybe telekinetic lightsaber combat looks good, and I'd like to duel wield lightsabers. I need to know how to build my own first, though." X'jan might have been a bit too excited about the training that was to come, as most of his speech was almost overlapping itself.

''Building your own shall come later, but trust me, it shall happen.''

Nikola stepped over to a cabinet, a rack of training staves within. He pulled out a pair, heavily weighted at the pommel, mimicking a lightsabre's weight.

''Djem So. A powerful form, one I am myself studying. It requires great stamina. We shall work on that first. But, before I teach you this, I must know what you know of Djem so. What is the philosophy of this form? It's strengths, it's weaknesses?''

"I don't really know too much. It's for lightsaber dueling, mostly based on either counter attacks or wide, powerful attacks. I know the attack stance, as well as the 'Falling Avalanche', and I have a bit of a defensive stance of my own, though it's not exactly taught, I don't think," X'jan thought a bit after that, then said "There's also a... 'Fluid Ripose', I think? Something about going from a parry smoothly to a counterattack."

''Good. You've obviously studied beyond the basic, that many padawans come to me with.''

Proactivity. A good sign in a padawan. Fortune favours the prepared.

''What is the key weakness of Djem So? Every style has its downfall, as we each have our own flaws. I am blessed with great height, but it makes moving in spaces some consider average, clumsy and difficult.''

Hearing Nikola comment on his study, X'jan, being reasonably modest, wanted to say he hadn't really, but instead he just let it go. His master followed his with a question, let X'jan thought for a moment before answering: "That would be a lack of mobility. Something which I find quite disappointing, I would't mind being so mobile. I guess I could stray a bit from the form..."

''Good, good. Every Jedi has their own take on their chosen form, deviating slightly from the rigid stances and moves set by their progenitors. Of course, as a padawan, you'll simply learn the basics before you can begin to make your own tiny adjustments to suit your own unique size, shape and speed.''

Nikola picked up a pair of training weapons, lightsabre-length staves with weighted grips, mimicking the weighting of a lightsabre.

''Now, attack me. Djem so is based of countering. You cannot always counter, sometimes, you have to begin the attack.''

Hearing his Master's request, X'jan used the Force to grab a training weapon similar to those Nikola had (Using the Force whenever possible was good practice), then he held it with both hands, over his head going a a 45 degree angle behind him. The attack stance. He then stepped forward, placing his weight on one foot, and brought the weapon down towards his Master. The Falling Avalanche, with heightened speed and strength through the Force.
