Obscure Resistance Training Facility, 151 ABY

A Force-fueled kick bashed in the simulated door. Lucifrey's foot followed through and stomped down on its threshold. Her bright pink twin-tails billowed in the air behind her, while her long blue tail curled up out of the small seal at the back of her suit. Her blaster rifle snapped up, its sights lining up with her aim as she popped into the room, turned 90° to her left, and double tapped the trigger.

A pair of bright blue blaster bolts shot through the air, landing in the hip and shoulder of a training dummy in the corner that had a Kilik painted on it. Not the head and chest, but at least both shots hit it this time. The rifle stayed tight to her shoulder, one hand firm on the grip with the other under the barrel while she continued maneuvering through the breach.

Instincts flared. Adrenaline kicked. The world snapped into slow-mo for her. Luci's head and shoulders jerked and ducked forward to the opening side of the door she'd slammed open. Her feet didn't stop moving. A red bolt flew just above and beyond her head from a training remote droid that hovered on the far side of the room. Everything snapped back to normal speed.

Another sharp breath in and out, then a hold as she prepared to return fire. She still kept her feet moving as she made her way to a stack of crates near the first target she'd hit. The barrel of her blaster moved while she moved. Her upper body twisted to the right. Her arms swept the blaster in line with the droid and she fired.

Once.
Twice.
Four swift shots total before she double hit it and disabled the droid.

"Tch!" She bit back her frustration with herself, dashed forward with a boost of Force enhanced speed, and slid into cover between the wall and crates. Another red bolt rang out behind her, blasting into the durasteel walls and adding a few more scorch marks to it. Not that it wasn't already covered in blaster shot marks from the last week or so of nearly non-stop training.

Luci still didn't stop moving. Her breath came back in deep and right back out as she snapped to the back of the crates and hustled along the other side of them. She stuck to the back of the cover and tilted her upper body out ever so slightly, barely opening a shot on her while she leveled her rifle up and took a pair of shots at the droid.

One hit. The other missed.

It returned fire, narrowly missing her while she followed her shot through with another pair. Same result, but with two shots on the droid now it disabled as programmed. She'd already spent too much time at the corner and still had enough shots left in her clip. She was trying to beat Faen's time record after all, not that she was likely to accomplish that any time soon. His time trial ghost moved forward in her mind, way ahead of her and with less shots fired.

She swept forward, blasting another pair of blue bolts into another Kilik painted target in the opposite corner of the first one. Both shots landed in the chest. Not where the second one was supposed to go. Luci popped her aim up and took another pair of shots, sending one into is head and missing with the other. The frustration festered, but she pushed it aside and pivoted toward the hallway at her left and opposite from the door she'd bashed open.

More blaster bolts echoed throughout the tactical target course from Luci and the pair of droids at the other end of the hall all blasting at each other while she dashed into cover against the corner of the hall. She expended a heftier amount of shots than she'd meant to, but kept up the pressure nonetheless. She barely cornered the wall again, taking shot after shot on only one of the droids she aligned herself enough to see.

Crimson bolts crashed into the wall above and below the sliver of her exposed face.

Azure bolts rang through the air and finally disabled the first droid. Luci turned her barrel toward the other droid and poked out a little more, then took another series of shots until the blaster clicked empty.

"Tch!" She'd lost count again. She ducked back, dropped the rifle to hang at the back and left side of her hips and thigh while her blaster pistol was up and ready the next second after. Her left foot pushed out and back. Her body lowered to a near couch. Then she pulsed another burst of enhanced speed through her legs as she switched sides to the other corner of the hall, pivoted her body toward the droid, and raised the barrel of her pistol to it.

A pair of shots. One hit. Her body snapped and twisted up the cover of the corner. A pair of red blaster bolts passed. She ducked forward and turned the corner. The blaster pistol came up to aim again. She took another two shots and disabled it. She didn't stop moving forward through the hall.

A simulated room to her left. She blasted the Kilik target lurking there with three more shots, missing once and burying the other two in its fake head. Her body whipped around and pulled to the other side of the hall while she put another pair of shots into the chest of another Kilik target, missed the third shot to its head, but landed the fourth.

Her feet continued deftly moving the whole time. She repeated the process down the hall that had six rooms lining it, three on each side. One after the other she put round after round into their center mass and foreheads. Or at least close as she'd been able to get in the last week or so. Once she reached the opposite end of the hall she expelled the clip of her blaster pistol and quickly slapped the next one in. Without missing a beat she had the pistol back in its holster at the right side of her hip again, and began bringing up the rifle to reload it as well.

It had been a while since Faen had taken up the mantle of 'Warrior'. After becoming a devoted Seer for the Order, which was probably the break he needed, he didn't have time to swing his greatsword like he used to. There was once a day when Faen was as deadly with a pencil as he was a blaster, but the Knight tried to give up that life for a more peaceful one. A life that greatly improved his well being and helped him deal with his own sorrow. However, after a recent meeting with young seeking-to-be warrior, he decided that maybe his talents from the past could benefit others in the future.

Lucifrey Sol was the name of the Padawan he was to be instructing today, and boy was she brilliant. Part of the Jedi wanted to buy a real blaster instead of an illegally modified stun gun, while watching the Padawan work. Even if she fell behind Faen's average paced time, the Half-Tiefling was making good progress.

"That was good, Luci," Faen dropped from a spectating platform, whistling for his Massiff, Boy, to follow. The canine happily padded it's way down the stairs and rested at the Knight's feet. "Just remember that sometimes, you don't need to be the Basilisk. Precision is nice and all, but for now, I want you to focus on just hitting your shots. You're doing well, don't get me wrong, but I want you to be comfortable enough to use any gun you can grab." And when it came down to it, Faen himself was not a sharpshooter, but he never missed. He couldn't afford to some days. There was a difference between performing surgeries and simply getting rid of an obstacle. Hopefully, the Padawan understood.

"But, I wanted to work on more close quarters combat. Draw your saber." Faen, himself, unsheathed a brilliant greatsword instead of his lightsaber. "Show me what you can do, then I'll think of a form that'll suit you." The Half-Annfyn smiled friendly and beckoned for the Padawan to strike first. For now, Soresu would be all Faen needed. Vaapad was typically a harsh form of saber combat to use on a Padawan anyway.

Luci finished reloading the rifle, and proceeded into the next room where Faen met back up with her. There was a slight huff and little pant as she caught her breath. Little beads of sweat trickled down her forehead from the hours of training they'd already put in today, but she was still ready for plenty more. Nonetheless she flicked her rifle's safety on and let it down to hang at her back.

"Nn! I'll try to keep that in mind." A flash of her bright youthful vigor poked through her smile, she waved at Boy, and then her expression calmed for a moment. "I definitely want to get as much experience as I can with every type too. Not gonna lie, the sniper rifle was probably my favorite one." A tiny bit of a cocky smirk perked up on her lips for a couple seconds, then faded as she continued. "A little too big for me to carry around all the time though." Then she gave Knight Akatosh a nod in response to him mentioning close quarters combat and saber forms.

"Well, I do already have a pretty decent understanding and grasp of the basic forms. I would love to learn more about some advanced ones." She popped open the compartment of her suit at her hips, and pulled her lightsaber's wood and steel hilt out to her side. She ignited it, causing the blue blade with a magenta gradient across its length to engage with a loud hiss and purred with a deep bassy purr that was notably a bit louder than the average lightsaber.

"Do you think you could show me a way to combine using a pistol in one hand and a saber in the other?" Either way she'd prepare herself for whatever Faen threw at her next, keeping her feet somewhat close together and her back elegantly poised in what would almost seem like a regal fighting stance. If Faen agreed to her request, then she'd take the K-16 Bryar blaster pistol she'd been using into her left hand and ready herself for the next lesson.

Ah, so the Padawan wanted to learn how to dual wield with a blaster instead of another lightsaber. Faen thought on the idea for a moment, taking in the knowledge he already had from watching her train on the course. She was smaller and lightweight and would be able to close gaps easier on stronger opponents while having a decent advantage over faster enemies. This could work!

"Then pick up your blaster. I'd prefer you hold it in your dominate hand if you're planning on defense, or your least dominate if you are going for a more offensive approach." Guns felt like guns in Faen's hands to say the least, but he did prefer his swords in his right hand. "It'll be uncomfortable at first, but eventually you'll get the hang of it." And the Seer wasn't expecting Luci to get the hang of this the first time, but if she set her mind to it, she'd be quite the adversary on the battlefield.

"Most of the people you'll be fighting won't expect you to retaliate with a ranged attack. Take advantage of open gaps, and if they get to close, use your saber. This way, they'll always be uncomfortable, and if their uncomfortable they'll make mistakes that'll cost them gravely." Faen readied himself after putting about a twenty meter gap between the two. "Start when you're ready."

"Thanks, Faen!" Luci gave a sturdy nod to the Knight, passed her blue and magenta lightsaber over to her left hand, and drew the K-16 into her dominate right hand. She made sure the blaster was set to stun, just in case she accidently hit him. The greatsword certaintly made her a little nervous, but she trusted in Faen's ability to control his weapon if she faltered.

"Ok." Her expression became serious. The pistol went down to her side. The lightsaber went up along her center and pointed at the ceiling. She drew in a long deep breath as she centered herself and searched the Knight's stance for weaknesses. Her feet spread apart to shoulder width, her left foot leading slightly while she moved her lightsaber into a defensive stance.

The room they were in was large enough for her to try getting some range to kite him around while getting used to the feel of the pistol and saber combo. She bent her knees, watching for any signs of movement from him before dashing off to the left and taking a pair of stun shots toward the Knight.

Luci would keep moving in an attempt to run a wide arc around him while taking more quick shots at him if possible, mainly just trying to get used to moving and using it with the saber in her offhand. If and when he closed enough of a gap on her to get a swing in with his greatsword, then she'd go to guard herself with her lightsaber depending on how he attacked.

If distance was what the Padawan wanted to keep, then Faen wouldn't hesitate to create as little of a gap between them as possible. There were several benefits to wielding a blaster and a lightsaber, but one of the more fatal drawbacks was the fact that you only had one hand on the lightsaber which meant you had a weaker defense. If you're too close and your enemy attacks you too fast, the blaster is completely useless.

So, Faen darted toward her, taking side steps and spun the flat of his sword to block the blaster bolts, as he zigged and zagged his way to her. Closing the gap didn't take long, and he wanted to make sure Lucifrey understood how frighteningly fast it could take for someone to rush her. But, because this was a learning exercise, Faen did not go all out on his own attacks. With a single powerful upward swing using both of his hands with his greatsword that would aim for her right hip and end at her left shoulder, Faen was hoping she'd block the attack, knowing that his uppercut might knock the saber out of her hands.

"In training, there must be progress, but in the field that progress must become...perfection." Faen said with his proud smile before outstretching his left hand to send blast of Force energy meant to knock her off balance.
