Well, this is it. Everything that Jack Lawson has done since becoming a basadi with the Hutt Cartel has led to this moment. Now, Spectre would inside the grand extravagant halls of the Supreme Mongul's palace, being led on his way to the Hutt Council chambers by an trandoashan guard. It's not just any trandoshan guard though, he's clearly had scars on his face, is decked out in some good armor, wielding a blaster rifle. When the Hutt Council convenes, after the death Supreme Mongul Gulla it is expected for security to be bolstered, regardless of the circumstance around Gulla's death.

Spectre isn't expecting this to be a walk in the park at all even if he feels very qualified to fill the vacant Kajidii spot on the Council left by Svallos' ascension to Supreme Mongol. The Hutts are not known for being inclusive when it comes to sharing leadership. The Hutts in power see it as their Cartel and no-one else's. But if there is a will, there is a way, and Spectre has that will. He will do his best to shatter the species barrier and pave the way for other non-Hutts to move up in the Cartel. The way Spectre sees it, just because you are a Hutt doesn't mean you are qualified. If any non-Hutt can bring more to the table than one for the incubant Lordas, then they should be replaced. This is a perfect opportunity with one seat on the council vacant, and opportunities like these don't come often. Heck, the fact that the Hutt Council are even willing to humor this appointment says a lot. Just hopefully it doesn't become a humiliating roast, that would be pretty disappointing.

With the backing of the other most powerful and/or upcoming Vigos in the Cartel, with his slicer ship mobile base project completed, with him gaining the favor of the Queen of Alderaan, Lucille Antilles, having played a part in the favourable alliance that the Hutts have been enjoying with the Exiles. Really, he has never met failure yet since he joined up with the Cartel. He feels he has the merit needed to move up to the next level. The guard would stop and turn around at the big doors, where the Hutt Council lies just on the other side. Spectre would be lying if he says he wasn't just a little bit nervous as he goes before the big slugs themselves. He would nod towards the guard, as he would open the doors. Spectre would be wearing his usual suit, he would have no weapons, no gadgets, or anything else notable on him besides a datapad. Security saw to that. Here we go. Well, time to break a leg, time to transcend.

"Uba doth wa mebenbe kaae yae doth tee uba?"

Savllos Bareesh Torill - Supreme Mogul of the Grand Hutt Cartel - does not like to mince words.

This human was, in her eyes, a bit of an oddity. This was now her Cartel and yet she would be the first to admit that humans made up the overwhelming majority of it's membership. By sheer weight of numbers alone, they should be able to overthrow the Lorda of the Cartel, should be able to crown whomever they want as Supreme Mogul.

But they never did.

This was, to her mind, because they lacked ambition as a species. Sure, there were exceptions to the rule. The Andraste woman was a real go-getter for someone barely birthed and it seemed that this Spectre fellow fancied himself as something of an up and comer.

Well, he looked like he dressed well... for a human at least. So she supposed he had that going for him. She lounged upon the raised dias in the centre of the semi-circle of Hutt Lorda. She was front and center and he would have no choice but to look her right in the eyes as he spoke.

And Savllos had quite the knack for telling when people were lying to her.

"Uba lova num bai canta uba doth wa Yih. Tee, uba katka woy... heoi pee uba caiot puohe neu da ata Yih beu wata bankop uba."

Her face grimaced and twisted into a smile.

"Wonkee lwaa jeejee uonza da, che uba, mebenbe kaae yae?"

And so, once the doors were opened for him, the Hutt Cartel Vigo-Slicer stepped forward stepping over to the otherside of the doors, the first thing he could see was Supreme Mongul Svallos. Once firmly inside the shut the doors would behind him. It's just the dapper Vigo and the Hutt Council here. He could see the other Lordas as well as he would scan the chambers, Nem'ro the Hutt, who Spectre is very well acquainted with, who Spectre formed an alliance with at a summit of Vigos and has declared there he will support the Vigo's ambitions to the Hutt Council. There was also Archon Asirra, the Clan-General Balla standing with his mechanical leg. Although he knows who they are, he can't say he met them though, this will be his first time seeing them in person. Had to happen some time. So now, There are a total of four slugs in the chambers, one spot is empty, where Svallos would be at if Gulla was still running the Cartel, but Spectre is seeking to fill that spot up. After all as they say 'when one door closes, another opens' and in this case, a second door opened for whoever is table to fill in the empty Kajidiic position.

Before Svallos spoke, Spectre had his attention on her as he took his place. He's a 'strange human', huh? He always knew he was different from the typical Cartel basadi when he first joined up, him advancing past is no fluke. Now, the next question was an inevitable one, why should the Hutt Council allow a non-Hutt a seat? Spectre would fold his arms backwards, have a stern yet confident expression on him. Confidence is key here, although he has merit, he still has to sell this just like a normal person has to sell themselves in a job interview. It's a good thing Spectre brushed up on his Huttese before coming here, since he is going to hear a lot of that language.

"Thank you for the audience, Your Excellency." he would nod his head politely and respectfully towards her, even if he was referred to as strange and funny, his professional demeanor would not let up. "And to answer your question, well..." he would smile "In my career as Hutt Cartel member, there has always been one constant, I never fail. I found my calling in life in the Cartel. I'm no doubt one of the best, if not the best slicer in the galaxy. I've excelled as a basadi, and I've excelled as a Vigo. My mobile base for slicers was established, I have Lucille Antilles' support, I played a part to help get our mutually beneficial partnership with the Exiles established. Everyone in the Hutt Cartel, the Jedi, the Exiles, the Republic knows the name 'Spectre'. I could go on, if you wish." he would nod in approval of his own words. "Initiative is such a valuable trait isn't it? It's my initiative that brought me to be a Vigo, and it's my initiative that has brought me here before you all, Your Excellency" he would gesture outwards. "So, why should I, a human be on the council? Because I deserve it" he had a stern expression, in conviction of his own words. "Don't believe me? You can ask him" he would gesture towards Nem'ro the Hutt with his right hand, palm open, newest of the Hutt Council with a smile on his face. "Nice to see you, Lorda Nem'ro" he would nod his head to him

Lorda. It had a nice ring to it. The power and wealth were nice bonuses too. A few blaster shots had made him one of the most powerful lords in Hutt Space. But his shadow now stretched beyond Hutt Space. It was already beginning to strangle Ryloth. They would feel it from the Rimma Trade Route to Coruscant in the Core Worlds soon enough. But, for now, he needed to secure his power base at home. And that meant stacking the Council of Families with allies that would support him when the time came to replace Svallos.

"Hhobela eeth Gulla dah nahka dee Yih Lanka, an ye wanya peee da yoieu jen," he said, nodding at Spectre. "Heee doth bmaleoi tee-tocky. Jeejee dayan tah Gainlei bai doth lohdoha cay heee coo paknee ata haku doth twa. Wahke panbipa bai yatuka ten nudd. Da koee besnewa puna puna cay hhobela." Nem'ro took a long, deep sip of his drink and gestured towards the human. "Tah yae gee chiia ben kae bokeue bai ten. Cuee ai kiukee s bu Yih du tee neg. Jee hatkocanh bakath che jen."

With two members of the Syndicate on the Council, they were slowly gaining the control they needed to reshape the Cartel in their image. With each passing day, Nem'ro's vision for its future became more and more grand. Spectre would help ensure that none of the other Hutts got in the way of that vision. Together, they would prove Svallos ineffective to her benefactors. Then it would be Nem'ro who would be ready to sweep in and fill the vacuum in power when that happened. @Faster Than Light @Nefieslab

Balla Desijilic Tiure was a Hutt who did not appreciate people who hadn't come up in the same way this young human had. She disliked the way that this human swaggered on into these chambers and declared that his skills were good enough that he should be granted a place in the Hutt Council...

She leaned forward, her robotic limbs making some rather loud noises as they compesated for her impressive weight,

"Hee uba sey da uba cha bla flunka kaae yae?" she scoffed loudly, the sound wetter than it ever could be had it come from a human or any other kind of sentient but a Hutt, "Jee canta da doth mah main douban cay uba hee, Wonkaca. Kava hatkocanh uba basa mee joppay flunka apoya? An kolka... woy kacay coo uba doth cohai bai bankop uba banang da flunka doth tee kaa da apoya bai uba."

Turning as Nem'ro spoke, Balla would like to say that the other newcomer was wrong. Tradition hadn't been serving them all as well as it could have been doing right now and at the end of the day the Cartel was a business.

She might be the Clan-General and she might enjoy spending credits more than she enjoyed actually seeking out ways to get them. She eyed Nem'ro a little bit warily before rolling her robotic hand a little bit,

"Uba gee Nem'ro peee ba kankahuesa wata, Wonkaca yae." she noted drily, "Jee woy dotmay mee baleaka cay jen matka youngee."

Nothing further would be said until Spectre had spoken again.

Perhaps the Hutt Cartel Vigo-Slicer shot himself just a little bit in the foot by saying he never failed, no matter. Spectre's expression remains unchanged as he clasps his hands together in front of him. He can address thought, but he isn't going to lie saying that it wasn't a very good question. As a major crimelord, mistakes are bound to happen, from either the Kadijiic himself or the people underhim. Failure is inevitable, and when it happens it's how you handle it that matters. Case in point, before he joined the Cartel, he happened to be careless and was forced off Coronet City by CorSec. He recovered from it though, he is now standing where he is. So he has to address that. Spectre's syndicate ally Nem'ro spoke in his favor though, which will make this easier although he still has a bit of an uphill battle to fight before this is all said and done.

Now, he would nod towards the large Hutt Bala before addressing him. "That is a very good question, Your Excellency." He would give a slight pause before resuming. "I'd be lying if I said I was completely perfect. I'm not infallible. I just prefer to do whatever I can to maximize my chances at success as much as possible for a given task. That's not to say that there aren't setbacks and roadblocks in my way. I recognize that mistakes can happen and there are variables that just can't be accounted for. I adjust and make the best of a given situation and thus far that has worked out for me. But again, I'm not pretending I'm immune to failure. I recognize that failure can happen to me and surely it will at times in the future." he would nod his head as he finished with that sentence once. He would would then contuine after another brief pause. "While failure sets one back, I do know they are valuable learning experiences to pick up on and adapt from from. There is still something that can be gained even so. It's all about what one do after failure, for either one's self and/or someone else." If that person is unlucky in the latter case of course, which sometimes happens in the crime business. "You learn from it and become a better, more knowledgeable person for it, or at least someone else will." he would would state. Hopefully that would satisfy the Clan-General's question. Spectre would continue to have his eyes from and center, fully alert, and on his feet, ready to answer any other questions that may come his way, or to further elaborate if his answer wasn't enough.

What a tame young man this one was.

Asirra had been analysing the young man before the council for a rather long time and the hutt had decided that the young human was someone to watch. And the more he was watched, the more this human seemed to impress. Was it his natural drive or his cunning that Asirra respected the most? Neither really... Asirra appreciated on thing and one thing above all others.

Intelligence.

The young slicer's answer to the brute with the metallic limbs was well thought out and Asirra could find no fault with the logic that the young human applied. Thinking about it, the hutt spoke up,

"Uba gee chiia kae bai doth wa yae catke cohka mah chamy, cikhesa, pay."

the hutt joked with a small wave of a heavy hand,
"Uba doth wa yae Jee hatkocanh panwa joday cay."

This might come as something of a surprise but Asirra knew how the winds blew - Asirra was smarter than perhaps any of the other hutts in this room and Asirra knew that the humans and other races would need to be integrated into the council before long... before they decided to take their chances and try and seize control instead.

Besides - smart human go-getters were good for business.

And race wars were bad for business.

"Whao Jee cahcata uba mah bidkana du mee bimhanehoba... haku woy uba koona bai woy cay mee cuedanesa neg?" Asirra asked with a wide grin, "Uba doth wa cahwapkeu kaae cahuodaha um baw wah Cartel peee uba doth... puohesa wonkee mee bimhanehoba bai tee neg noa-a cua dan ai tiy jopka uba bacaka datkoha."

The important things - credits, intelligence and getting down to business.

Spectre raised an eyebrow when Archon Asirra the Hutt spoke, seeming to have taken an interest in the dapper slicer. He smiled with his compliments, it seems like the Archon had no problems with a non-Hutt as such as Spectre himself ascending to become a Kajidic Lorda in his own right. With the Archon's inital statements, he can feel the tides shifting, putting Spectre at ease. He has Nem'ro supporting him, and if he can get Asirra fully on his side, that would greatly increase his chances at success. He thought he did a good job addressing Clan-General Balla's question. But now Asirra had some questions of his own that need to be addressed, and like Balla's they were very good questions. Spectre nodded towards the Archon. "I'm honored, Archon Asirra." he cleared his throat as he quickly prepared to answer his questions. Nem'ro and the Syndicate want these guys replaced in the future and he doesn't want to show the Syndicates cards nor their intentions.

Instead, he would state his own personal ambitions on what he would do with the rank of Kajidic Lorda. "That's another excellent question. You're right, I could just stay a 'perfect little owner' where I am at as Vigo, but I don't intend to be just a 'perfect little earner'. I want to be a big earner. As big of an earner as possible. And I'm very much interested in the welfare of the Cartel as a whole. And I would like the authority that comes with rank to help keeping our faction moving forward towards greater heights, beyond the horizon." He asked, driving at his ambition to see the Cartel to rise beyond where it is now. He would also like greater say in Cartel matters. After all, a Vigo might be a crimeboss, and could potentially become very powerful and influential on their own right, but if they aren't on the Hutt Council, they won't be well in reach in the ears of the Supreme Mongul, the Hutt Council is a governing and advisory body to the Supreme Mongul as well. "As Nem'ro said, we need strong leaders to move us forward, people who can take whats there's even if it means breaking tradition. Well, I think I'm qualified for the job." he would nod his head in approval of his own words. He had a stern expression on his face, not appearing to be cocky or arrogant, just stating it a matter-of-factly he believes he is ready for the rank he is appealing for. Hopefully Spectre has satisfactory addressed the Archon's question.

Balla was happy enough with the answer that Spectre had provided her with and she approved of the way that he had hesitated long enough to actually think about his answer but not long enough to be stalling or to be floundering with the answer.

In the end she nodded,

"Uba cohai bu cohai see kaee coo doth chake bai jahna jaleana ree bu ceaba dee kouiohe see kantkhieth- banka. Kuna kee woy tee don tee Cartel an sie Jee canta Jee hatkocanh uoh uba dotkola wa Vigo che janse..."

The Hutt shrugged her large shoulders,

"Jee kouoe bai neu wa waki mallya Vigo bolla. Um Jee lwaa panwa neu wa waki mallya Lorda baukola. Uba gee mah bidkana, Wonkaca."

Asirra was of the same mind as Balla for once and that was something that didn't happen very often. The fact that they were in the same chamber was often considered something of a miracle but considering they stood in the same chamber and accepted the same thing as for the good of the entire Cartel?

Well now that was when you knew things were getting very interesting amongst the Lorda of their fine Cartel!

"Jee boonowa myself du bu bkhonse bekiola see see fah cay Balla che bonee wagan! Jeejee cha neu hee puohe bu boe gai... um jeejee neu waki mallya bankop ten an doppomka fa, peee bu Yih vee woy!"

Asirra grinned and it was an ugly expression.

"Jee ye wanya nudd bai neu haku uba woy du bu jewz ku Wonkaca- uba gee mah bidkana!"

The Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Cartel sat and watched as the assembled Lorda spoke to Spectre and passed their judgement on the small human.

It felt strange, to see such a small creature and to know that he held power and influence that rivalled many of the Lorda here. Not her level of assets and influence, naturally, but enough that the other Lorda should likely have felt afraid of the young man in the suit.

And instead they embraced him.

"Wonkaca... Jee hatkocanh add uba bai tah gainlei che nobata baua mayan ai che haku uba gee douwoheh yabee. Uba gee woy bu piniana gainlei see Lorda maoue see fah dah kaa! Tah douwoy doth nay wa lhonu yahaox'a, woy nobata paknee ata tee. Um kuna kee jahna da kae du bu nan kanoh an roy Jee phaba. Heoi pee, Wonkaca..."

The Supreme Mogul raised her hands high,

"Uba nan bankop ten peee wa Vigo... um kuna kee paknee ata wa baha peee wa Lorda! Bu Koo Yae Lorda see tee hutta Cartel!"

And there was much rejoicing.

Spectre hid a big grin underneath his seemingly normal smile, silently celebrating as he has done it. The former Hutt Cartel Vigo now sits among the Great Hutts on the Grand Hutt Council as a Kajidii in his own right, becoming the first human and non-slug to be granted the title of Lorda. "Thank you, all of you" he would nod his head as he has his hands clasped together. Spectre still doesn't believe he has done it. He has broke the mold, broke barriers, broke the glass ceiling. Not only is this a victory for Spectre, it will also carry implications in the long term. Now that the new Hutt Cartel Kajidii Spectre was the first non-Hutt to get on the Council, he has paved the way for others to do the same. Now the Vigos in the Syndicate have the doors wide open for them to come on the Council. With that, and nothing further, this meeting is over. Victory at last, for Spectre has transcended. What does the future hold now? Well... party at Nem'ro's place?
