A month ago, Iona Peller, her Seneschal, and a team of Imperial Knights and Imperial Guardsmen infiltrated the Yaga Shipyards in hopes of hijacking a Star Destroyer for their own usage, and to eliminate any Sith present. The shipyards was only guarded by a dozen Sith, mostly Acolytes, with a couple Sith Marauders. While taking on casualties of their own, the Imperial Knights managed to wipe out the Sith presence at the Yaga Shipyards. Using the bases own defenses, the raid team managed to subdue the Imperial forces guarding the place.

The Star Destroyer, Excalibur, wasn't their only prize. The Grand Moff of the Yaga System had been inspecting the shipyard when the Imperial Knights attacked. He was captured, and taken aboard Excalibur. Peller and her team learned much about the dealings of the Empire from Grand Moff Ein Morgenroete, such as the tensions between the Sith Lords, the raise of more unforgiving military leaders like Lucifel and Buro, the increased corruption by the Moffs. However, Morgenroete had one piece of vital information that he had discovered while eavesdropping on the Dark Council: The Sith were looking for a new academy, and that Darth Judicar was personally leading the effort. According to Morgenroete, there were only two candidate locations under consideration: Ilum and Lehon.

The Imperial Knights saw this as an opportunity to take out the Dark Lord of the Sith once and for all. However, they had neither the resources nor the man-power to take on such a feat. If an operation were to take place, only a few would go, as to not risk losing their entire faction in a single effort. Thus, Iona Peller and the Seneschal sought out rebels, dissidents, and Force Factions that opposed the Sith, such as the Jal Shey, Matukai, and Gray Paladins.

In reality, Iona Peller and the Seneschal planned to use these forces as decoys. They would engage with the main force of the Sith Empire, allowing Iona Peller and her team to ambush Judicar directly.

A week before the supposed inspection by Judicar to either Lehon or Ilum, Iona Peller and the Seneschal flew to Lehon and Ilum respectively. There, their teams would be ready to set the trap.

While the Seneschal and her team, alongside the pirates at Ilum in the settlement near the abandoned Jedi academy, Iona Peller's team, alongside settlers who had come to Lehon after the extinction of the Rakatan, made their base at the Temple of the Ancients, ready to use the disruptor field against the Imperial fleet.

Lehon appeared to have been the location chosen, but for not the purposes the Imperial Knights had come to believe. Unbeknown to the Imperial Knights, Morgenroete had led them into a trap. Lehon was a trap not for Judicar and his Sith, but for Peller and her Imperial Knights. At first, it appeared that the battle would go in their favor. The gathered forces Peller had brought outnumbered the Imperial Fleet. However, the tide would soon change.

Ein Morgenroete had been taken by Peller to Lehon, to be used as a hostage if needed. While Peller was commanding the fleet from her command post, a docked Harbinger-class diplomatic barge, Morgenroete managed to free himself and flee to the Temple of the Ancients where he activated the disruptor field. Half of Peller's amassed forces crashed into Lehon. Though the disruptor field was turned off soon afterwards, immediately, in hopes of preventing more ships from sharing that fate, she and her team rushed to the Temple of the Ancients. However, a shuttle had landed atop the temple. Peller could sense one very strong Force user amongst the passengers: When Peller's team arrived outside the Temple of the Ancients, they were attacked by Lucifel's men. In order to allow Peller to advance, her soldiers took on the stormtroopers.

Peller snuck into the Temple of the Ancients and reached the top of the monolith. Darth Judicar awaited her, alone; Morgenroete having already been retrieved by Lucifel and brought to Exodeus' flagship, the Advent Tartargus. Judicar had his reasons for meeting with Peller privately. He had hoped to have the Imperial Knights return to the Empire, to be the private for of the Emperor once more. However, Peller refused to allow the Imperial Knights to be agents of the Dark Side. She and Judicar fought in an intense duel, where she managed to injure Judicar. She underestimated the old man's prowl and Judicar turned the board around on her by telekinetically manipulate Peller's lightsaber into stabbing its owner. Peller slain, the Imperial Knights present on Lehon ended their engagement with Lucifel's forces and fled into the nearby canyons, islands, and downed ships from the Battle of the Star Forge. The space battle took a turn for the worse, with a majority of the surviving ships destroyed or forced to retreat.

Peller may have lost the duel, but the injury she caused would result in Exodeus' grab for power. Seeing his master weakened, Exodeus deemed himself more worthy for the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith. He ordered the Imperial Fleet to bombard Lehon around the Black Rakatan Settlement. The area was decimated, killing surviving Imperial Knights from Peller's team and many of Lucifel's soldiers.

Unfortunately for Exodeus, Judicar managed to escape the planet aboard the Imperial shuttle that had brought him there in the first place. He had to fly past the Imperial fleet, but succeeded in reaching a clear shot to hyperspace. Judicar's current location is presently unknown.

Aboard the Excalibur, the Seneschal sensed Peller's death and the ambush on Lehon. She ordered the amassed forces at Ilum to disperse, managing to flee only minutes before Darth Oseth's fleet arrived. The Seneschal, after returning to the Sith's Folly, would assume the title of Knight-Commander.

With Judicar in self-exile after the betrayal by his apprentice, Darth Exodeus assumed the throne of the Sith Empire. The Empire was morphed into an extension of Exodeus' rule. Despite having betrayed his own master, Darth Exodeus would begin to clamp down on traitorous factors on the Empire.
