DESCRIPTION
Apparently, this ludicrous device was the brain-child of a Rimfire Munitions executive's son, whose employees refused to say no to him for fear of losing their jobs. So, when approached with plans for a blaster with "two-no-like, three barrels!" R&D complied, creating perhaps the only notable blaster Rimfire has ever produced. Regardless of how the weapon was made, the tri-barrel blaster pistol proved to be a remarkable, if somewhat niche seller. The weapon uses three barrels which fire a single cluster of light blaster bolts which are so closely packed together they function as one, single heavy blaster bolt. Because of this, the weapon's clustered burst has a great deal of kinetic stopping power, enough to knock an unprepared being off their feet. Unfortunately, this also means that the weapon has more kick than an angry fathier practicing Echani martial arts. Combined with a naturally slow rate of fire and the constant risk of the three tightly packed barrels overheating, and the weapon is not good for fast-paced, rapid-fire shootouts. Ammunition consumption is another issue with tri-barrels, as they fire three bolts with each shot meaning that their 18 shot powerpack is used up in 6 shots. Still, despite these disadvantages the tri-barrel has found its place as a remarkably sturdy and reliable weapon, packing a significant punch for a pistol while being entirely legal to own. In terms of lightsaber deflection, the bolts are packed so close together that they can all be hit with one swing. They tend to scatter off in different directions, however, essentially turning the deflection into an unpredictable volley of three light blaster bolts.

LEGALITY
Legal. Ish. While a tri-barrel blaster is technically legal, they are generally seen as a way to skirt Republic laws regarding pulse-wave weaponry, so anyone caring one is considered suspect.

INTENT
I think this could be a very interesting weapon in combat scenarios, being essentially a legal pulse-wave blaster with some unique features.

ADVANCED TECH
Yes. An extremely uncommon weapon that is clunky and unusual for the average gunslinger.
