The Sith’s body went flying back. The last crackles of electricity sparked across Leon’s finger tips. He clipped Moonlight to his belt, already calling the force into that same hand as his adversary began to rise. A shadow in his periphery caught his attention and Leon glanced up in time to see two large crenellations careening down the stairs, one heading in his and his adversary’s direction.

Without hesitation Leon reached out with the force. As his opponent jumped back and began controlling the trajectory of the incoming crenellation, Leon wrapped the force around their right knee and jerked it outward with a sharp pull, the Jedi’s intent was to break the Sith’s knee while interrupting their control of the crenellation.

Suddenly, a vice-like grip caught his throat. Leon tried to gasp but couldn’t. He called the force to his throat and pried the grasping ghost fingers from his windpipe. The waning force of the choke was enough to make Leon miss an opportunity at a counter with the crenellation, but it wouldn’t be enough to get him killed. At the last second, Baudelaire managed to dive to the left, Daybreak still in his main hand, as the battlement slammed into the ground bursting into a pile of ruined stone.

If his adversary managed to unleash his force lightning, Leon would be prepared to defend, Daybreak would be plunged into the force as his attacker raised his hands and let loose. Baudelaire’s focus would be on absorbing the warped force power into his blade.

However, if the lightning was interrupted and their opponent somehow managed to avoid their knee being ruined, Leon would once again begin pooling the force into his off hand in preparation for the next clash.

Ferrin couldn’t help the wheezed and labored breaths that escaped from his lungs - feeling brief effects of J’aiver’s choke. The Sith Champion was interrupted before any real damage could be done, but the pain of being strangled twice lingered all the same.

The Pantoran kept his guard up - his attention momentarily split between Serene and J’aiver, knowing that additional attacks from the latter was likely. He hadn’t the slightest clue where Dash had vanished to. He hadn’t felt the death or agony of the Knight in the Force, and it made his sudden disappearance all the more irritating. As a result, Ferrin didn’t fail to notice the crenellations that were hurled in multiple directions. Golden eyes narrowed slightly, the Force swelling within him at once.

Lifting fingers from his saberhilt, Ferrin coiled the Force around the crenellation before it quite reached them - rolling his fingers to alter and accelerate the trajectory of the projectile just slightly. It wasn’t the same effort required to completely change the direction of the crenellation, but was more than enough to curve its path to follow Serene as she leapt backwards.

At the same time, Ferrin reached out with his free hand - holding Serene’s left ankle firmly into place, attempting to keep her bound in the crenellations path, his grip tightening painfully.

Dash peered over the ledge just long enough to see his foe fend off the crenelations. It had been too much to hope they would take the fracker down, but Dash still had the wits to see how the Sith was fading fast. The creeping cold he had struck the beast with was doing its work, but the Rhinnalian dare not wait to see it finish. He could feel he was spent.

Scrabbling back from the ledge and out of sight from all the others, Dash made himself hurry across the terrace as fast as he could. He did not want to turn his back on his friends, didn't want to accept that was even what he was doing. But he had just come pretty close to dying. He felt like he could smell how close it had come on the air. Fear sapped his will, adding to the pain and exhaustion already wracking his body.

He kept his blade out and what purchase on the Force he could muster, but he was so far away from everyone else that he would likely cross the terrace without incident. Steps on the far side matched those he and the helmeted Sith had fought their way up. He would hurry down them to the hidden speeder bikes he knew the Order kept under cover by the river. The evac point was not far and none of his foes likely had the strength or energy to follow, even if they could overcome his icy slope.

His ice. A fat lot of good that had been. He was running, leaving Leon and Ferrin on their own, because he had been too cocky about his ice. He started down the steps, spying the river below and silently said a prayer for his friends.

Continuing to face the Jedi Temple and its injured defenders, Serene saw her winded foe alter his posture from a lightsaber strike to instead the hand gestures of telekinesis with both limbs. Having cleared the crenellation’s initial path she knew she had to act instinctively. The man's attention seemed more than just split between two techniques. She could tell his thoughts were on his friends and their dwindling strength. This alone cause Serene's smile to return and a renewed strength to fill her.

Mirroring the man’s left arm with her own in both timing and target, Serene’s left hand wrapped its will around both of the Jedi’s ankles and yanked them abruptly in the Champion’s direction. The result would have the Jedi lose his focus on both of his force techniques among other things. The man would be pulled in the Sith’s direction with enough force and once again into the path of the crenellation he had managed to alter only slightly. The intent was for him to land flat on his back and be crushed under the rubble while Serene moved and stood clear of the flying debris.

Retaining her balance, the woman felt the grip around her left leg limit her range of motion. The woman could feel him pressing his will around her leg which she knew required a great deal of effort when it would eventually cause her pain if his hold did not end. She was resisting the hold and pulling her leg back against the man’s hold but it was limited progress even as she continued to enhance her lower limbs. Whether Ferrin managed to retain his concentration or not the Sith would manage to clear a further ten meters from the stone’s landing point.

Trael felt the force coil around his knee as he did he reinforced his knee with the force still being knocked back to the ground by the pulling of the knee. Quickly realizing his depleting reserves he would decide to cut his losses. Letting out a force push focusing as much power as he could he would try to launch the debris from the crenellation as well as knock back the jedi.

After this push he would hobble over to the other sith who had fallen unconscious unclipping one of his sabers keeping it off just as a defensive measure. His mind a flurry of emotions most of which annoyance at his self believed weakness not being able to defeat his adversary who seemed to not have tired remotely as of yet. He would then attempt to make his way off the battlefield with the unconscious sith in tow.

The Sith hurled the ruined crenellation at him and Leon was forced to expel the power he’d pooled into his defense, unfortunately The Sith's cunning forced him to further split this defense.

Baudelaire just managed to escape the main brunt of the incoming swarm of miniature crenellation, but was caught on the shoulder by a fist sized piece as The Sith’s push crashed into him. Leon managed to get a force shield up, softening the blow, but The Sith’s attack punched through it and Leon was sent backward crashing to the ground.

He scrambled to his feet as The Sith made it to his comrade. Baudelaire frowned. Was the Sith running? Leon watched in disbelief as his adversary gathered their unconscious ally and exited the battlefield. Everything in the Adumarian screamed for him to give chase, but he restrained himself. His mission was here.

This temple wouldn't fall to the Sith.

Leon’s eyes scanned the battle, where was Dash? A flash of blue caught his eye and he spotted Ferrin. Baudelaire plunged himself into the force and rushed to his friend’s side. He was tired, his shoulder throbbed, and he was covered in nicks and cuts, but his mind was laser focused on the task at hand.

Nothing mattered except the will of the force.

Ferrin couldn’t help but narrow his eyes - watching as Serene once again leapt across the battlefield and beyond melee range. His manipulation of the Force had been swift in response and occurred after she had jumped backwards, redirecting the crenellation and accelerating it to follow Serene across those ten meters of distance.

Nevertheless, he didn’t fail to notice the pull that was applied to his leg. It was the second time that the Sith Champion had copied his own combat maneuvers, and fortunately the Pantoran had a better understanding of how to defend against them. Rather than immediately resisting the pull, Ferrin allowed his body to fall backwards - his free hand shooting back to brace himself. His good leg dug into the soil of Kashyyyk, heels pushing back against the pull to his other ankle.

The result would force Ferrin to abandon his own grip on Serene, but would fail to bring him into the trajectory of the crenellation - continuing to move unobstructed towards the Sith Champion. She would have even less time to respond appropriately, considering the effort she put behind yanking his leg.

Regardless, Ferrin quickly sprang back to his feet - gathering the Force in his free hand defensively. It was abundantly clear that Serene had no intention of dueling him, and the Pantoran had no reason to continuously chase her across the jungles of Kashyyyk. She had hoped to invade their sanctuary, and had done little but move in the opposite direction.

Glancing over his shoulder to Leon, Ferrin kept his lightsaber positioned into a defensive guard - the fingers of his free hand flexing expectantly. The Sith Champion would watch as her own allies dropped unconscious and fled from the battlefield, abandoning her in the process.

She would be forced to do the same, or face both Knight’s at once.

Serene felt the hold against her leg cease and she immediately moved out of the altered path of the makeshift-missile made of temple structure. The crenellation flew through the air where she had been a moment earlier and cracked into the ground having missed her thanks to her evasive movement. The Champion’s smile would have persisted if not noticing her companions falling back, leaving her to be one of the few remaining crimson sabers on the battlefield.

Her eyes flicked to the advancing dual wielder before looking at the prone blue skinned Jedi. The Sith was a confident woman, arrogant even because she debated fighting both of the jedi alone. But her better judgment took hold and she did not press the attack.

The vibro-repulsor blade Serene had thrown previously had continued on after nicking J’aver only to imbed itself into a stone wall beyond him and the Jedi. It had remained uncharacteristically stationary for a few moments. Only now did its repulsors wrench itself free to begin its return trip towards its sender who had likewise maneuvered to a similar point where they had originally hurled the vibro-repulsor blade. In an effort to return back from whence it came, the blade would follow a path behind both Jedi, striking first Leon and then Ferrin each at their six o’clock while they focused on the last remaining Champion.

As long as neither Jedi made a further attack, she would make her exit. What the two Jedi would see before she slunk into the jungle's shadows, would be Serene raising her left hand finger tips to where her mouth would be if she were not wearing a helmet. She mimed blowing a kiss to Leon. Next time She would proceed to pluck her vibro-repuslor blade out of the air as it returned to her. With her tool of murder and maiming in hand, she had no further reason to stay. Her lightsaber darkened and her bloodlust retreated as did the Sith forces. The Jedi had managed to defend what was precious to them, this time.

Keeping his eyes on Serene as she fled, Ferrin had little opportunity to dodge the incoming vibroblade. The weapon grazed the Pantoran’s arm as it passed, slicing through armor and the first few inches of flesh before returning to the Sith’s hand.

Even as he winced, Ferrin paid little mind to the superficial injury. Instead, he watched as the Sith proceeded to run with their tails between their legs - having not so much as breached the interior of the pristine, forest temple. Cameras would have captured the fighting and their unceremonious failure, and Ferrin had every intention of broadcasting it to the wider Galaxy.

Returning the lightsaber to his belt, Ferrin gripped the side of his arm - glancing over to Leon to confirm the man was fine.

“Where the hell is Dash?”

As Leon closed in on Ferrin’s location he heard a weird buzzing. He glanced back just as a flash of metal bit into his arm. The Adumarian hissed in surprise, recoiling from the sudden searing pain. He didn’t have time to warn Ferrin as the blade nipped him before making its way back to it’s owner.

Leon came to a stop next to The Pantoran, a confused frown stamped across his expression.

Did… Did they just blow a kiss at me?” he asked, taking a moment to examine the bleeding cut on his arm. Peetwo whistled as it landed on Baudelaire’s shoulder, it twittered and chirped excitedly.

Leon chuckled, “ Can’t wait to review the footage.

Ferrin asked about Dash, “ He’s not with you?!” shot back Leon his eyes snapping up from his wound.

Peetwo whistled, pointing it’s head up the stairs and into the temple, while his little feet did the happy dance on Leon's shoulder, “ Ow, we get it, knock it off!” chided Baudelaire.

Peetwo saw him head into the temple. C’mon we should regroup.” Leon relayed and suggested.

The little droid projected a bacta stim to both knights as Leon turned to head up the stairs. As the rush of battle receded, Leon began to feel his wounds. The nicks, cuts, bumps, and bruises were starting to set in. As they reached the top of the steps, he looked back down over the battlefield. From this vista he could see pillars of smoke dotting the horizon. In the back of his mind he couldn’t help but wonder how small this victory was.
