After the heat came the cool down, and the longer they lay there, the more began to dawn on Roman. The risk he had taken, was still taking. From the way Xylan was playing with his neck, it seemed the Senator had no regrets, but this has been a bold thing to do.
The squire was partly glad Xylan needed to see to his ship. He felt drained, and even if he slept it off there was a lot to process. Xylan‘s mention of two dead parents only reminded Roman he still knew very little about the guy he had just risked everything with.
But it had been enjoyable, that was for sure.
”You could have, or you did?”. Roman was impressed, if a little weirded out, that Xylan might have had the foresight to bribe the spa staff in advance. He really had planned his attack, even if it was Roman who had done the charging in the end.
”The specs probably won’t pay any mind to little me” Roman scoffed, though he was half trying to convince himself. The ISB could be surprisingly alert to small things and he had heard of shit going down with Knights that went astray. But he was not involved in anything dark or sinister. It was just a screw, maybe that was what he would say.
Roman rose, stretching his body and retrieving what little clothing was handy. He caught Xylan looking at him as he wrapped the robe around his midriff and let out a small laugh, ruffling the Senator’s hair and giving him a quick final peck.
“Our truth” he said, with a wink, and slipped out the door and away.
