Uhl Tejha

Uhl Tejha, Old Corellian for “The Undying”, is a paramilitary faction created with the sole goal of undermining and confronting the Hutt regime wherever possible. Founded by Corellian philanthropist Sivroc Nioro and Fondorian shipbuilder Tar Zinge, the group was funded entirely by the pair's personal wealth when they became disillusioned with the Republic's efforts at traditional warfare.

The insurgency is an entirely volunteer organization, open to anyone fit enough to fight. However, any member who leaves Republic space is subject to a rigorous background check, due to the fact that the group's survival in Hutt space is dependent almost entirely upon secrecy. During the four year truce between the Hutt Empire and the Republic, Nioro and Zinge established a route they had found years earlier, through the Transitory Mists.

This multi-jump path is a closely guarded secret, only known to the commanding officer, executive officer, and chief navigator on each of Tejha's capital ships, in addition to the commanding officer and executive officers of the insurgency's headquarters, Sahsahlah Prime. Sahsahlah Prime is an hollowed out asteroid, towed from Republic space into the Transitory Mists. In addition to marking the Midway point in Tehja's corridor through the mists, it acts as a natural interdictor. This prevents passage through the corridor without the insurgency's knowledge.

In addition to the insurgency's small battle fleet, they also maintain several heavy freighters. These are the life blood of the rebels, taking stolen goods out of Hutt Space and into Republic space, were it is distributed by smugglers to all corners of Republic space. Tehja freighters are assigned to one of two groups, one which transfers goods between forces operating in Hutt Space and Sahsahlah Prime, and the other which transfers goods between Sahsahlah Prime and smugglers waiting in Republic space. These freighters, however, do not have traditional navicomputers. Instead, they series of jumps into and out of the Mists are pre-programmed in an encoded module, which will self destruct if tampered with. These modules are wiped and reprogrammed with a slightly altered route each time the return to Sahsahlah Prime in order to prevent enemy forces from backtracking the freighters.

In the end, all of these operations are but a means to an end. The primary mission of Uhl Teja is to supply worlds subjugated by the Hutts with the material, the knowledge, and the support they need to declare independence. However, to the unacquainted, they are often assumed to be common pirates. Though discipline within the unit is largely dependent on the ship's commander, military style ranks are maintained.

Asteroid Hideout “Sahsahlah Prime
An 8.3 kilometer asteroid that was towed from the Worxer asteroid field into the Transitory Mists, Sahsahlah Prime is the headquarters of Uhl Tehja. The asteroid's primary defense is secrecy, however the asteroid is not without the ability to protect itself. The primary feature on the asteroid a massive cavern reaching to the asteroid's core, with a 952 meter opening. At the rear of the opening, is a disguised planetary ion cannon. Also within the cannon is the base's hangar bay, which houses the base's fighter compliment of two squadrons of fighters and Tehja's Goliath-class freighters or corvettes that are on leave. At any given time, at least one of the Goliath class freighters is stationed with the asteroid, in order to help it maintain it's position in space. Crewed by five hundred sapients, not counting flight crew, the asteroid boasts a proton-torpedo refinery, two heavy tractor beam emitters, and a hydroponics bay. Unless powering the ion cannon or tractor beams, the reactor's energy signature is naturally masked by the surrounding rock.

Sahsahlah Prime Fighter Wing
The Sahsahlah Prime Fighter Wing consists of two squadrons of personally owned snubfighters, of assorted makes and models. All fighters stationed at the station have their hyperdrives removed or disabled for security purposes.

Goliath-Class Heavy Freighter

The Goliath is exactly what it's name suggests. It's huge and it's slow. But it also boasts one of the most impressive hauling capacities of any ship in Republic or Hutt space. Generally, this also makes the unarmed 705 meter behemoths common targets for pirates. This, however, was addressed by the Tehja leadership before they were deployed. Each of their Goliath's have since been retrofitted with increased shields, point defence weaponry, and increased sublight engines. These modifications have halved the carrying capacity of the Goliath, but increase the survivability of the craft exponentially. Any threat it can't chase off, it can run away from.

Hunter's Call” Nallastia-Class Corvette
Commander: Tar Zinge

The Nallastia-Class Corvette was the a standby of Fondor system patrols for several decades. Known for it's rugged durability and modular adaptivity, it became the bane of many smugglers. While most have been scrapped or put on museum duty by the Fondor Space Forces, a handful have managed slip into private hands. Hunter's Call is one such ship, personally refit by Tar Zinge. The ship was retrofitted with a planetary ion cannon mounted to the bow on non-swiveling brackets and tied directly into the primary fission reactors.

These ion cannon moves with the direction of the ship. It is designed and specified to disable any class of capital ship. However the downside of firing the cannon is that it sucks the reactors of the "Hunter's Call" of all power. Thus sending the reactors into a cold-restart which takes a full twenty minutes. During this time the ship has zero offensive, defensive or maneuvering capability.

Though her primary weapon is excessively aggressive and as such draws a large volume of power, the "Hunter's Call" is not without other teeth. She bears dorsal and ventral heavy laser arrays, and several quad-laser canons for anti-fighter support.

Her speed is severely remiss both in hyperspace and sublight due to the large storage space needed for the main cannon capacitors. As such the ship relies heavily on armor plating over shield generators for her defense as well.
She boats only average sensor systems and communications array. Relying on the support ships in the fleet she travels with to act as a relay for her.

Brushfire-Class Corvette

The Brushfire-class corvette is an older vessel, nearing the end of it's lifespan. The ship was the original attempt to utilize cruiser-class weaponry within a corvette, essentially being engines and a bridge strapped to two heavy rail guns with a massive reactor. Unfortunately, the engineers at Loronar failed to figure in how quickly the weapons would overheat and be rendered useless in a battle situation, and the line was discontinued before the first production run was even finished. In attempt to recoup their losses, they sold the few that had been produced at discounted prices and an as-is sign.

Quickly purchased by various pirate and mercenary groups with the intent of mounting their twin railguns to disguised freighters, it was thought to be the death knell of the Brushfire. They Brushfires however, were saved when a Corellian ship-modifier discovered that removed of the rail gun, the ships made excellent pocket carriers.

While configurations vary, most Brushfires have one or both of the railgun's launch ports modified into launch tubes. They also have heavy anti-fighter weaponry as well as boosted shielding, sensor array, sublight, and hyperdrive, which are easily powered by the ship's reactor after the removal of the rail guns, leaving plenty of power to transfer between systems. With a single launch tube the Brushfire is capable of carrying two squadrons of fighters, the ships are seen most often in private navy's or police defense forces. With newfound purpose, the Corellian modifier purchased the rights to the design, and broke into the ship construction market.

Uhj Tehja's Brushfires feature the dual launch tube configuration, allowing them to launch thier fighters at twice the speed of a single tube Brushfire. However, they are only capable of carrying one and a half squadrons of fighters. The ship also boasts an impressive sensor array, as well as state-of-the-art sublight and shield systems. However, preferring speed over protection, the ship retains it's minimal armor.
