Condemnation, including the sarcastic kind, without understanding the reasoning behind what's happening is just noise to me. You can disagree with the tactic but it has to come from a place of understanding.

It was a memorial for an immoral war which socialists (faux-socialists in any case) won by themselves. Said war was also undertaken in the defense of a genocidal empire which butchered tens of millions in the name of the privileges of an astonishingly amoral class of a few hundred people.

And even were we not talking about Great Britain and its many war crimes during the Second World War, the whole idea of a war memorial is so much political onanism for the ruling classes. Is it respectful of the dead World War II veterans when a goodly portion of their grandchildren or great-granchildren are homeless? When cuts to the little they wrested from the vampire capitalists are expected in a government chosen by less than forty-percents of the electorate in a low turnout election? And said cuts are expected to literally kill people?
