Glee Anselm, Imperial Oil Facility, 13:00 local time
-
"I don't think I've ever been this deep underwater before," Llolith murmured, mostly to herself, as she gazed out the viewport of the dive ship she and Kanaloa had boarded earlier. They were on their way down to an Imperial Oil Facility some tens of kilometers deep into the Anselmi ocean to report for a mission they'd been assigned to. "This is kind of crazy."

Her homeworld didn't have any major oceans like this that she could remember. She'd swam in lakes before, and after being brought to the Sith she'd been out on the ocean a few times, but never in it. "Is..." She had no idea what his homeworld was, only that he was apparently some part Wrean. "Does your homeworld look anything like this?" she continued, gesturing to the mountainous terrain around them. There'd been some coral reefs in the shallows, but the deeper they went, the less and less vegetation she could see. There was still enough light for her to see at least, though she wasn't sure if that could be said the same for someone who couldn't see into the ultraviolet spectrum.

Eventually, Llolith pulled away from the window and turned to sit on a nearby bench. They would arrive soon, she was pretty sure. Dark, geometric shapes had come into view not long ago. "The facility," she noted.

"So, what do you think we're getting brought down here to do?"

Kanaloa had been preoccupying himself by silently judging the Imperial submersible when the other acolyte spoke up. Gold-amber eyes glanced in her direction, then out the window at their surroundings. He could see just fine. "Can't relate," he replied in a playful tone, idly watching a small collection of fish swim to avoid the vehicle's path.

"In some places. Others are plains of soft that snows from above, or waving forests as far as the eye can see. There are even powerful rivers deep in the sea." The ocean world of Wrea had a vast array of biomes under the surface that offworlders might find strange. Naturally, Kane was comfortable underwater. This submersible, less so. Maybe it was because he was working off Tethysian construction, but it felt like they'd really spared every expense for this swimming metal box.

"I bet someone fucked up," was Kane's guess as to why they were getting sent down but that didn't really answer Llolith's question. He shrugged. "Who knows? Hey, you know?" the Wrean abruptly asked a nearby crewman. They stiffly shrugged and returned to their console. "Or maybe they found some shiny thing. We'll find out, ah?"

Kane watched as the facility came into more clear view, parts of the structure visible from external lighting. Now they were closer, though, bits of it weren't lit up. Probably unpowered. "Well that can't be good," he commented unhelpfully.

"That sounds... really cool." The images that popped up into her head - of plains of sand, of seawater forests, and of rivers within water - were fantastical and entirely foreign. She was a terrestrial being from a planet with biomes that, in her opinion, were pretty normal. Of course, since being abducted from said planet, Llolith had seen some pretty cool and crazy stuff. "But underwater biomes?" This was all new to her, and she couldn't help but be equal parts in awe and nervous.

"Yeah, who knows?" Seemed Imperial authority was pretty accurately stereotyped about being irritatingly vague about mission details. "Maybe we're here to fix a fuck up, or fuck up the fuck up." She exhaled sharply from her nose, then shook her head. Hopefully something interesting.

"What can't be good?" At Kane's comment, Llolith turned around to follow his gaze out to the part of the facility apparently without power. "Probably not," she agreed, also unhelpfully.

"Docking bay 08-EA, please respond." One of the crewmembers had repeated the call twice now, and the third iteration caught Llolith's attention. She jerked her head his way to bring Kane's attention to it, then wandered over herself.

"Is there a problem?" she asked. The man glanced over, sighed, then answered. "We're not hearing anything from the docking bay. If there's a problem, we'll have to dock elsewhere and send someone to check things out." He paused and took a good look at the two of them. "Feel like volunteering, acolytes?"
