Talak thought about what Max said for a moment. The sentiment was one that he could share. He was well aware that he was a powerful Force user and a dangerous fighter, but he also knew he was far, far from being ready to be anything beyond a knight. He could appreciate someone else feeling the same way.

But something else struck him about Max.

Well, you seem to be doing fine, he said. You know things and you tell other people what you know. Before you know it, you're teaching, he said with a chuckle.

So what did you see yourself doing, then? he asked curiously. @Nefieslab

Max wanted another cigara but he knew he should stop - he allowed himself one of them per day and he'd already had his one so he should stop. It took more than a little bit of willpower to put his cigara case away he would admit. They were a holdover from his time as a cop, his time before being a Jedi was all he could ever hope to be.

Still had some wine though.

"Teaching isn't the hard part, in my experience. No the hard part for me is... seeing them use everything you taught them... and still come up short." he admitted quietly, finishing off the wine in his cup in a single drink, his smile smaller than it had been before, "The part of a teacher that I wasn't prepared for was picking myself up and continuing to teach after that happened."

He chuckled and gave Talak a side-long look.

"Honestly? The last time I thought about my future I was a cop on some Hutt-riddled planet about to get shot in the back of the head for not being on the take." he admitted with a bark of laughter, "My Master was... just so shite in a lot of ways. Seduced me, fell to the Dark Side... such a terrible Jedi in hindsight, but she taught me to live in the moment. That the living Force would guide me and, aside from a few painful experiences, I'd say it's done right by me."
