The flame of war fills the hearts of men until they are all consumed and burned.

Unknown_by_jleeimagery.jpg

Where do my bones lie? Are they cold are they dry?
Do I rest in eternal sleep? Or am I dust beneath rough feet?
Is it my skull staring up at the stars looking closely at their scars?
Or do I still yet breathe?

I served proudly now I'm gone. What did I amount to really? Was I just another statistic the fodder of war or did my role mean so much more?

The Most Notable House of Xenvaer
The House of Heretics Shalrüt
Hawk_by_Co11ision.png

Descending from a line of old rich and powerful families the House of Shalrüt has been an integral part of Alsakan society. Along with other old and powerful families they have contested and bickered over every change that has taken place since Laharra's ascension as the first Vicar. Their contest with rival Houses, Elders, and even the Vicar's themselves has left them broken now in todays time so this is the story of their fall.

It has always been known that before Sha-Laharra's span as Vicar that there were rich powerful families that held the planets wealth. These families while not imperious held their place as the upper class for countless years a fierce force to be reckoned with when it came to the overall economy, but they never took responsibility upon themselves to be the leaders of the world trusting as they always had the Elders of Alsakan to deal with the fickle role as overseer. However with the rise of the new Vicar there was a shift of power, which in the end diminished the old families in an ungraceful manner. Laharra and the Elders profited from her visions whereas the families a dubious bunch did not act upon the prophecies and lost prominence and wealth to the ruling class of Alsak. Shalrüt had been most affected by the Vicar's vision losing much of their former standing among the great houses of Alsakan.

With the death of Laharra there were suspicions that it had not been Sha-Laharra's grand visions that had been her bane but perhaps the House of Shalrüt who had been so recently injured by her rule where a cause in her demise. These suspicions however where silenced when the reign of the new Vicar came into play. With the Elder's consent she placed the Houses of the old families under their care to be monitored carefully this was especially so with House Shalrüt. The new Vicar was powerful and with the aide of the Elders began her construction of the wondrous sky city Xenvaer. The Old families were grudgingly forced to go along with the plan with only Shalrüt announcing any opposition to the plans of the Vicar.

The work of countless generations was finally completed Xenvaer stood proud above the clouds shining in the resplendent glory of endless twilight. Citizens lived almost content with their lives drawn as they were to feel the surface of the planet they were unable to join with rooted as they were in fear to their isolated palace of the sky. The House of Shalrüt had long ago been reprimanded for speaking against the Vicar on the matter of returning to the land below. So the matter lay unresolved before the Alaskan's and likely would've stayed that way for all time if not for the arrival of the metal crafts from far beyond space.

Arrival of the Spacecraft had been unexpected as was their departure but they had not left without affecting the Alsakan's. There were more choices out there than what the Vicar had shown it was in fact possible to walk once again upon the planets surface. Gathering together the people Alsakan divided into two groups one who wanted to rejoin with the land below and those who believed that the Haloed land should never have to suffer the masses of its people. Conflicts were raised violent acts occurred in larger amounts than had ever happened in a century. So nearly a half of the Alsakan civilization left it's homeworld to become the Lost Brethren.

House Shalrüt had been sympathizers with the cause of the Lost Brethren but had not been capable of joining with them as they were under the careful eye of both the Vicar and Elders. After the Brethren had left the Shalrüt was left to it's own devices and with the weakened state of the Alsakan nation and Vicar rule it now had a perfect opportunity to voice it's concerns and oppose the Vicar's at every turn. Advocating for the return of the Lost Brethren the House attempted to show the remaining Alsakan's that they were living under a dogmatic tyrannical rule. However the ploy did not work and in turn the Vicar pronounced the head of House Shalrüt a Heretic.

Gustav_In_Plaster_by_Doubtful_Della.jpg

"Let all those who bear this face be cursed by those who see them to never walk upon Ground again and their flesh never again to feel the touch of the blessed light."

Tried before the Vicar and her council of Elders the Head of House Shalrüt was sentenced to be decapitated for the crime of Heresy and Treason against the Vicar and people of Alsakan. The Head's head was taken and molded and given a plaster for all the public to see with a memorable speech that said that all who bore the face of Shalrüt were to be shunned and for them to find no peace or relief from a curse they had bestowed upon themselves. So fell the Great House Shalrüt into poverty and hatred only to be perpetually plagued by sickness and misfortune.

So the long years passed and the once prestigious house of Shalrüt collapsed without leaving behind a trace of their once powerful former selves. The family still resides on Xenvaer decrepit and groveling to eke by an existence their name is a title nothing more. Though they don't notice the government still keeps an eye on them watching them at all times to see if they resume their rebellious ways. Now the first born son who had been raised on his grandmothers knee hearing of the old stories of his heritage seeks to make amends for his families past. The name of the son and heir to the House of Shalrüt is Cyler who has just recently shown a great aptitude towards his studies in the sciences. Now he has begun training for a professional career that he loves.

It's alright I was mainly confused about what curse word had seven letters and went with "you".

actually it was just four letters. I wrote f followed by three astericks and it made it seven.

Also, I was under the impression there are supposed to be 100 words at least?

I think it was 50, if I recall correctly.

The words required should be 50 unless they changed it recently.

Updated and finished if anyone wants to helpfully critique my profile I won't mind. Not exactly sure how this measures up to profiles from members who have more experience but I hope this was a decent attempt.
