Tomic and his allies attack the contact's nightclub, fight through the guards and end them before they can continue their attempts to be rid of them. The promised rewards for their work for the contact will be found in his vault; once he's dead. Tomic Domin + Skuld Stark + Jayscreec Alecwit

Sometimes Tomic got angry and sometimes he got so angry that he got calm again - this was one of those times.

Armed with his gladius rifle rather than his long one, Tomic made sure that his helmet was ready before looking up at his two allies. They were in a warehouse opposite the nightclub owned by the contact who had sent them all on missions in exchange for weapons. They were here because the contact had tried to get them killed through those missions just to avoid paying out with the weapons they had requested.

Tomic wanted the guns he was promised and he was going to make damned sure that he got them in the end. He was certain that his allies felt the same, which was why the three of them were stood around preparing for battle when they were going to be entering a nightclub.

He sighed deeply as he sharpened his vibrosword.

"Are we ready?"

He looked at his allies.

"There might be civilian casualties the way we're going in... but they won't care so we can't afford the luxury of caring either. We can mourn when they're dead and we've got what we were promised. Agreed?"

"Agreed." - Replied Jay without hesitation.

The gear was heavy. Sadly, he was always lightweight. Jay knows he needs to do bulking but he didn't come tonight to eat. Before the show began he reached down to adjust his harness and ensured his rifle was loaded. Two concussion bangers waited patiently on his waistline, maybe those could preserve some of the unavoidable damage.

"Have you seen a backdoor? I have a breaching charge on stand-by."

He wanted to surprise them, to grab everything while the rats are gathering. Because now they were rats. Worthless animals who failed to put up with their side of the deal.

The plan is going in and out. As soon as possible.

She didn't care one way or the other.

Most people were bothered by consciousness of deaths and lives lost; in her culture, such death was inevitable. Why mourn the dead when they were the enemy? Those unlucky members of loyal Empire standing would be killed by Empire members and one Deucalian; no matter how you spun it, it would look bad. She wisely stashed Bíta aboard her ship, but kept her Elduröxi on hand, as well as her buckler, blade, and blaster. Having the knuckledusters was just an added bonus.

She pulled her helm on, her voice cool. "There is no luxury of caring. Wrong place, wrong time." She knew it sounded cold, but it was the truth. Things like this happened all the time. The ax hummed to life, a blue glow as the heat began to activate. Now was not the time to take their time sitting around twiddling their thumbs and discussing war philosophies.

She nodded to Jay, hefting her ax in one hand, and keeping her other hand open. She had to have a way of defense, after all...

"I think so; rear, close to bar." She tilted her head in the direction of Tomic, waiting for his word. A job was a job, after all...

But she anticipated hearing those rats scream before they succumbed to her blade. They shouldn't have done what they did to her employer... though perhaps employer was too strong a word. And he was so young to be so fierce. So of course she anticipated leaping in... he was young, and needed her assistance.

The reward of a new rifle had nothing to do with it. She was ready to leap into the fray and cause as much hell as possible while she still had air in her lungs and a beating heart.

Enough words. It was time to go.

Attacking the back was, to be honest, the only reasonable method of entry. If they attacked the front then their actual target would have more than enough time to escape out the back while they were held up by the customers. Even if they just immediately started gunning the customer down they would be a distraction.

"Back door it is."

Leading the way out of the warehouse, Tomic kept his rifle at the ready but hid it from sight by holding it close to his leg. The whole point of attacking the back entrance was to keep people at the front from realizing there was about to be an attack after all. Upon reaching the corner that they would turn around to see the back entrance, Tomic took a breath and checked around the corner quickly.

Two men on the door.

Taking a breath, Tomic leaned out from cover and raised his rifle. Unfortunately, it seemed that the guards were actually rather competent and alert. Maybe they had been informed that Tomic and the others hadn't been killed and so were on high alert? Either way, he fired twice but both shots missed as the guards dodged and rapidly pulled blaster pistols out.

It would be up to his teammates to make sure they were taken out before they could raise the alarm.

One of the doormen stepped inside while Jay fired once at them. In the last moment the other guard was dragged inside before he would get hit. Now they were both inside and the door was about ten meters away. Even with a sprint they couldn't reach them in time.

"Push them before he escapes!"

It was too late. While Jay sprinted to the entrance the guards alerted every single member of the criminal organization in the club, including the contact. At least the items they were after would take a lot of time to be moved.

Jay tried to open the door door. As expected, it had been sealed. Without hesitation Jay dropped his deployment bag on the ground and retrieved a breaching charge. His hands moved quickly. In a couple seconds the charge was on the door.

This method was usually used by law enforcement to handle barricaded suspects without making casualties.

"T, can you throw a banger?!"

He gave his partners a moment to prepare then he blew the door.

They would have to take on the back, of course. To cause a distraction from one side, the rats would flush out the other end, and try to scrabble away. But if both exits were covered, and on both ends destruction was ravaged... who knew how desperate rats would be, trying to scratch away in fear for their own lives.

Skuld supposed both of them could handle the back; it was the only observed escape route, and it would make sense.

But she wanted the front all to herself.

True to form, the guards stumbled in to the sound of something firing from the rear. She stood next to the door nonchalantly, ax in hand, gauntlet waiting for activation. She thanked the Gods for having such a handy small piece of kit as her armory; it had saved her skin more often than anything else. The moment there was noise, action, the door slid open behind them.

Only eight stood in reaction to the rear door being assaulted... none seemed to notice the tall Deucalian behind them.

One woman screamed when her ax met its' mark in the back of one of these unfortunates, with everything erupting to chaos. She would hold this door until she had nothing left to stand on... but the buckler hummed to life, a brilliant bright blue as she began her steady assault from the other side. Two more fell to her ax before they realized that there was someone else providing the assault; a shame none of them were Tomic's mark. But they would get their target.

A blown rear door and an assaulted front door; what patrons that could tried to duck for cover or straight to the floor. But the rats she needed had nowhere else to go; they gave themselves away the moment that they showed their alarm at the sudden arrival of the guards.

She would keep swinging and guarding the front until her companions would arrive... until then, her mind settled back into its' raging calm. She would raze them all down and leave their bones for the crows to pick; at this point she hardly cared who lived and who died.

She wanted her reward. And they would pay with their lives to give her just that.

Now seven more to go. Your turn, boys. Make me proud.

Well he guessed they were going to be breaching as opposed to anything else. He... wasn't a fan of the typical breach and clear because it usually meant using a carbine or a pistol in tight quarters. He slung his rifle onto his back and drew his blaster pistol with his right hand and a concussion grenade with his left hand. Tomic nodded to Jay as he primed the concussion grenade.

The breach charge exploded and the door was suddenly wide open.

Tomic tossed the concussion grenade in and counted to two - it exploded on two, which was what he had been hoping for. Gripping his blaster pistol, he spun out into the doorway with his blaster pistol raised, ready to take down the two stunned guards... only to have to immediately dodge and grab some cover on the opposite side of the doorway.

Both of the guards were still very much aware. It looked like the two of them had seen the grenade bounce in, taken effective cover and then immediately popped back up to open fire.

"... I hate breach and clear."

Jayscreec wafted his hand to motion Tomic to take the right side. He stormed inside the building the first. Upon entry it was immediately noted how unprofessional these guards really were. Seven of them gathered in the same corridor, completely blinded. Not only they couldn't find cover, they were shooting each-other.

But they got in their way.

Action, as expected, only took a few seconds. The agent followed his military training. He took cover at the first door and opened rapid fire. These criminals didn't even get a chance. They dropped like flies. Two civilians trying to escape the building through the back-door took severe wounds.

It wasn't enough.

Any of them with a glimpse of life and some souffle could trigger a grenade while going through the bodies. Jay finished them without giving a second thought.

All down. I'm green, he said. First he looked over at his partner, status checks. It looks like the safe is probably below us, they were all sort of protecting those stairs, he said. They had to increase their pace. Attacking a club with imperial citizens like this is borderline terrorism.

The whole club began to flee when sounds of gunfire and the boom of a grenade shook the other side of the building. One civilian was luckless enough to knock into her wounded shoulder and face down a snarling Deucalian; she powered through. Her arm was still lifted to keep the buckler out, but it shook from the painful effort just to keep it protecting her torso.

Two more fell under her ax, then a third. Four more to go on her end, and in the confusion of a flood of people, she may have taken one or two civilians as casualties as well. The floor began to get somewhat slippery as she continued to hold the door. No escaping this time, morals bedamned for the luckless soul that wanted them dead.

It was only a matter of moments before the club was mostly emptied. She was panting, holding the front with a snarl of fury.

Any moment now, her companions would come through. But her shoulder and leg throbbed, and all seemed to drown in red in her vision. She hefted her ax and just kept going. Several panicked shots whizzed overhead or harmlessly around her as some of the last civilians barely managed to clear out, but more reinforcements were due to come around any second.

She just had to clear these last few for Jay and Tomic to clear the rear exit and meet her before they would find their target.

...Wherever the kark the man was.

Tomic might not be very good at breaching and clearing but it seemed that there was something of a stroke of luck happening and the enemy were shooting themselves - he would never have any issue with this kind of good luck. Pushing up and into the club, Tomic was behind Jay so there wasn't any need to really kill anyone.

The other Imperial had gotten there first.

With his rifle at the ready however, Tomic nodded to Jay.

"Let's link up with Skuld - she's come in through the front."

Moving forward with his rifle raised, Tomic stepped out into the nightclub proper - behind the enemies that were focused so entirely on Skuld. The bass of the music was too loud for them to have noticed him and it muted his shots. He opened up with his rifle, emptying an entire clip into the backs of the enemies. With them dead, he nodded to Skuld to come with him and Jay as he reloaded his rifle with a fresh clip.

"Alright so they're guarding downstairs - time to do a quick check and see what kind of opposition we're going to be facing."

Moving down the stairs, he held up a hand to tell his allies to wait for a moment before taking a quick look around the corner wall, down the rest of the stairs to the approach to the vault. He pulled his head back quickly with a curse.

"Two automated turrets, one in each corner, and I'd say six H4 Battle Droids with gladius rifles. If we go that way we're going to need to be smart or we're toast. Suggestions?"

The set droids at least hinted there was something worthy inside the vault.

Jay stopped as soon as Tomic signaled him. He hugged the wall and listened in. Let me peek, he said. The agent grabbed a combat mirror and carefully examined the interior before the vault. This is technology I have seen before. I will go ahead to disable them, he explained.

This was the first time in a live environment.

Risky, because it takes time. Jay entered a nearby room with one of the guards access card. About next to the turret he investigated the wiring and removed some panels in the wall. If done right, he could disable a part of the defense system.

Jay had to hurry up.

The wires were confusing. They looked nothing like what he had seen before. At least this isn't some explosive, he muttered. After all, what's the worst he could do? Trigger some alarms or cut the electricity? It looked like he didn't do either of that. The agent took his chances. He grabbed his vibroblade and cut two wires that looked freshly installed.

Not even a sound.

He went back to his team to check if anything changed. I am not sure but I think I disabled them, he said.

She sighed. Slipped her now-deactivated Elduröxi into its' holster temporarily.

Silently parted from the two tacticians of the group.

When she did eventually come back, she held a glass in her hand. She peeked once around the corner, gauging distance; there were still the two turrets, ja, and the six droids.

What they needed was a distraction...

The glass sailed through the air. Instantly all six droids seemed to register the movement as it shattered on the vault door...

She pulled out her blaster.

She managed two lucky shots. Both the front guard droids immediately fell to the ground almost noiselessly, and the turrets seemed deactivated...

But now four droids seemed to register the attack did not come from the glass... but down the hall. She barely managed to duck in when they began firing, aiming to pin down the three in the hall and guard the door to the vault within.

"Got any of those grenades?" she calmly queried, one black brow raised beneath her helmet with a sardonic grin.

"Ve may need them, unless you have better idea."

Looked like Jay had managed to take out the turrets using a tech solution and Skuld had managed to get some of the droids down with a rather simple distraction technique. They were so close to their goal that Tomic could almost taste it. Maybe that was why he got sloppy?

He couldn't be sure why he got sloppy but he knew perfectly well how he got sloppy.

He agreed with Skuld that a grenade was the best option for clearing the corridor so he drew one of his frag grenades and readied it with one hand. The remaining droids were laying down suppressing fire but he was reasonably certain that he had their shot pattern down well enough for now.

He turned around the corner when he thought it was clear, to throw the grenade, when one of the droids fired, catching him in the shoulder and staggering him back; and causing him to drop the grenade. His allies were far enough back to be out of the blast radius of his dropped grenade but even with his mad dive towards the stairs he wasn't entirely out of the radius.

The grenade exploded and the shockwave hit him hard, with shrapnel cutting into him but thankfully not too deeply in most placed - the one place it did was significant however.

Tomic screamed, curled up on the ground, as half of his helmet had been destroyed. Part of that same helmet was now sticking out of his right eye socket, his eye completely ruined.

Along with Tomic, a second later Jay also threw a frag grenade among the four droids. Except, he managed to throw it, unlike Tomic. The grenade rolled underneath the machines and the frags damaged two of their power cells.

The agent flinched when Tomic's grenade went off around them. He had seen fellow soldiers being killed, but Tomic was too close to him to just let that be. He was not going to leave him behind. When he spotted the bleeding eye he froze just for a moment, but that gave the droids enough time to land a hit on Jay's left upper arm. He dropped his blaster rifle and tucked into cover.

"My arm!" he hissed. "Only two stand. We need to do this quickly." he nodded towards Tomic. The agent removed his VBP-11 Blaster Pistol from the drop leg holster.

Unfortunately, when Tomic decided to toss a grenade, it bounced back.

When it came back, she also tried to duck. With just about as much luck.

Most of it pierced through her armored side and into her injured shoulder, bringing out another bellow of pain. She couldn't even reach her blaster for these karking droids; her head swam, she could taste something metallic in her mouth, and she was dimly aware Jay had said something... she just couldn't process it.

Her one good hand fumbled for the blaster. Blood made it hard to breathe; she coughed and swallowed the thick liquid, vision wavering. She knew she wouldn't last much longer, but she wasn't dead yet.

She just had to get one lucky shot in... but her hand kept wavering, her breathing was getting harder and harder to come by.

She swallowed again, and dragged herself closer to Jay and Tom, leaning against the wall.

"Heimskur droids," she wheezed, leaning over.

Nope. Not dead yet, just in pain.

Again.

Jay came with two partners, now they sat on the floor, tired, battle-worn and in pain. Tomic drew the short straw.

The agent ran around and returned with a piece of cloth and a bottle of water. He gently wrapped the cloth around Tomic's head to secure the wound. He left room for the healthy eye, so he could see. "Come on brother, you've been through worse. Wake up." he said. Jay opened the bottle and forced Tomic to drink a few sips. "Drink. We're almost in, just two droids. We have about one minute to break through." The bleeding should cease.

Jay took a sip then passed the drink to Skuld Stark. "Drink. We'll try again. It's just two piles of metal." he helped the Deucalian freshen her throat.

Despite the reality Jay remained ambitious. They went too far to give up now. What they were promised was an arm's stretch from him. Two droids were not going to stop him. Not now. He stood up and covered the duo with his blaster pistol.

The pain was greater than anything that Tomic had ever experienced before in his life and he had experienced some pains in his time. He hadn't been alive all that long but he knew well enough pain as a form of companion to himself. Gritting his teeth, he batted away Jay's hands.

He had managed to avoid passing out from the pain but already it was a near thing.

He leaned against the wall of the stairwell shakily and pulled his blaster pistol out with his off hand. The two droids were advancing up the stairwell, about to turn the corner. His hand was shaking but he raised his pistol.

"I'll draw their fire - you blast them to hell."

He didn't know how well he would actually be able to draw fire but he was going to try. Gritting his teeth, Tomic opened fire with his blaster pistol as the two droids rounded the corner and came into view. Both shots of his missed but the shots from the droids did not - one of them blasted his weapon hand, blasting it into pulp and the other hit him in center mass with a blaster bolt.

This time he slumped over into oblivion and he would need proper medical attention to be roused from it.

She didn't know how she found the inner strength to move. Her chest burned, her right side both burned and became numb, her vision blurred. But seeing that young boy slumped over, shot at again and again snapped something in her. Something rational had been broken...

Something that made all pain vanish.

It was as if one of her own children were being shot at, and when she watched the young boy slump over, she let out something guttural and primal. It was both a scream and a snarl, incoherent even for someone who knew how she spoke.

Her ax hummed to life in her left hand, her blaster replaced. She stumbled, then lunged forward with a roar, heedless of any blaster fire that bit around her. She knew she was bleeding, that soon her muscles would give out from sheer fatigue, but in that moment, she didn't care.

Her ax bit into metal carapace and watched with a bitter satisfaction when they crumbled like the cheap durasteel they were. She didn't stop until they were cracked to pieces, until they were nothing more than an unidentifiable mass of electronic parts and wiring. If they were flesh and blood, the hall would have filled with viscera unidentifiable to any species.

This was close enough.

She only stopped because her ax arm began to shake, and she wheezed.

The next roar she let out was more like a half gasp, half cry of pain as it came rushing back, and she crumpled back down to her knees, pain lancing in white-hot up her right arm when she used that to brace herself. At the last second, she deactivated her ax.

Turned her head to Jay.

Her throat was raw, deep and husky from the primal war cries she had let loose. Her body shook from fatigue, blood loss and pure abuse; she would keep going until she collapsed.

"Does he live...?" she rasped, looking to Jay. "You vill have to go ahead; I vill try to get up... in a moment..." She swallowed back a bout of nausea as agony rippled like fire up her right side.

She had to stand... somehow. But she didn't know if she could right now. But he would get them... heh.

Looks like she made it after all.
