DESCRIPTION
The V-21 was developed by the same Verpine company that manufactured the V-19 Torrent starfighter of the Republic and the famous B-Wing bombers of the Rebellion. The T-Wing, as it is often called, is the latest in their long line of combat fighters developed now for open market use. The T-Wing follows the same elongated shape as the V-19 and B-Wing, using s-foils to provide better stabilization and weapon spread in combat. These s-foils also allow the V-21 t fold up to almost half its unfolded size, making it easy to store in hangars. However, the ship's narrower hull, powerful quad-thrusters, and adjustable stabilizers give the ship far greater speed and maneuverability than any of its predecessors, in or out of atmospheric conditions. The V-21 is not without drawbacks, however, as the ship follows a fairly simple engines-with-a-seat-strapped-to-them model of ship design. The ship has no armor or shields and lacks an internal navicomputer and hyperdrive, meaning that the ship has next to no defense against enemy fighters and can only escape to hyperspace in another ship.
LEGALITY
Restricted. V-21s are starfighters, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.INTENT
I noticed we are lacking in specialized interceptor craft for this new timeline. I decided to help with that.
