He returned her lightsaber when she started asking about what had happened. "I had to borrow this for a bit," he said. "The creature appeared near you; it was killing you, I think. We fought, and now we are here," he said. There were more details, but all seemed like a haze to him. He knew the creature was gone; he had killed it.

"I don't know where I'll end up." he said truthfully, but he knew he wouldn't be as a platoon leader.

"I wasn't going to leave you behind.." he answered after she had finished speaking. "How about we just call it square between us." he said. "You would have done the same for me." he added. He would have done the same thing for any of his soldiers, but she was different. She was important to him, more important than he cared to say.

Jonathen leaned back in his chair. "You know, I think I need a vacation after all of this." he spoke, changing the subject. "Maybe go home for bit, or...I don't know. Go see the galaxy." he said, gesturing freely with his hands.

"...Something.." he trailed off.

As both her armor and her equipment had been stored elsewhere, she literally hadn't noticed that one lightsaber had been out of her possession for a while. "I-". The detail was even more confusing and she reached for it rather confusedly before a little smirk tugged at her lips. "You're telling me you've wielded a lightsaber and I didn't even see?!". Good thing it had apparently helped.

She wasn't sure whether he was deliberately holding back details or whether he had already starting repressing the horrible things he had witnessed...maybe he was just as confused as she was, but for now she decided to refrain from poking him further. What did bother her more for now was that he made it sound like he's future was rather uncertain and she didn't know how to feel about that as in her eyes, he was doing great where he was at right now.

"Yes...I would have..." she trailed of, her thoughts circling back to where she had seen what had happened inside his mind as that thing held him hostage at night. She would have done anything to make it stop and well, she had when she forced it onto herself.

Meeting his gaze once again, she realized that he welcomed a change of subject and she wasn't going to object. She wasn't mad that he hadn't followed her orders as he was right about them being only here because of it. They had gone through something disturbing and she would need some time to recover, but he really looked like he needed some time of as well.

"Oh?" she remarked as he mentioned home, knowing he hadn't been there for ages before mentioning a possible vacation. "That sounds good...I might need a little distance as well". She had no either where she'd go and when she'd be allowed to leave, but for now she needed rest.

"Feel free to shoot me a message if you feel like hanging out. You know you've still promised me something..." she remarked with a tired, but warm smirk, hinting at how he had insisted he wasn't that had at cooking. "I'll go lay down or else I'm afraid the medical droid will freak out. Mind walking me back?".

He chuckled as he returned the lightsaber to her. "Wield is a strong term..." he said. "I think I got lucky mostly.." he added.

"Was that a promise?" he joked at the mention of their last meeting and the cooking he had mentioned to her. "Well,I have been working on a new frog recipe..." he joked. "I know you will love it!" he finished, seeing her grow tired.

He was about to suggest she returned when she did so herself. "Of course.." he said, standing up and offering her a hand if she needed it. As they left the mess hall, he turned back and looked at his soldiers laughing, joking, and relaxing. He would miss this.

They walked slowly through the halls of the cruiser back towards the medbay. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asked. "That thing seemed like it was just as interested in leaving emotional wounds as it was physical ones..." he said.

"I'm worried about you..." he finally said.

Her was playing it down, but she wasn't sure whether it wasn't accurate representation of how he had heroically slain the beast by himself, but as he joked about not remembered the promise, she started chuckling again.

"If you serve me a frog I promise I'll find something worse for you for next time". Despite the smirk on her lips, there was a playful, threatening tone to her voice before they started walking together.

She gratefully took his arm, still finding each and every step tiresome and the painkiller in her system making her dizzy. His soldiers seemed much better and rested which was a real relief to see. It seemed like their nightmares had stopped after all, which slightly added to the assumption that maybe it was indeed gone.

Jonathen soon asked whether she was truly alright, the geuine worry not only in his voice but also in his features. "Once I've gotten my strength back I'll make sure I'll meditate thoroughly to make sure there's nothing left". She'd have to center herself regardless of how she felt afterwards as such occurrences could always leave their traces.

He didn't seem satisfied with her answers, the worry apparently bigger than she had thought, which was admittedly sweet, but she didn't want him to have those concerns on his mind. "I'll be okay, Jonathen. I promise". She softly gazed into his eyes, her tired emerald eyes meeting his as she came to a halt in front of the room she had woken up in. After all this stress it was an incredible tender moment to share.

"I suppose you will just have to see for yourself." he responded to her comment about dinner.

They returned to the medbay; the hum of the ship's engines had always been relaxing to Joanthen. He still worried about her. He didn't know what she needed leaving him feeling somewhat helpless.

The emotions of the last few days swirled inside of him. As any soldier did, they had been set aside to accomplish their mission, but now that it was quiet, they were there waiting for him.

They stood outside the medbay door, fretting medical droid surely pacing on the other side, waiting for its charge to return. "Ok." he said in response to her promise. He was worried, but he trusted her.

He let himself get caught up in her emerald eyes. For just a moment, an instant, everything faded for him. No dark side monsters, no politics, nothing. Whether it was the feelings he had for her, the stress of the day, the need to have some contact, or a mix of all the above, he found himself leaning down to kiss her.

He still didn't seem convinced but accepted it, however they were still standing in that corridor, somehow hesitant to leave. Something in his gaze suddenly told her that this had not been their goodbye and she couldn't deny that she felt the same. There was something in this moment that made it seem like an eternity passed, but not at all in an unpleasant way. They had been through a lot and as exhaustion washed over them, so did the feelings.

Kalique remembered the date with Altair that had started off casually but had soon turned heated, however, while it had been passion that had driven them after they had agreed on just keeping it casual, the night had been...great. She hadn't done something so sweet and casual in ages, but they have had their terms and she had actively kept herself from letting her mind circle back and imagine something that could never be.

This here was different though in general. It wasn't passion, it was an outlet of emotions that had maybe been repressed longer than they had both thought and once the stress was gone, there was no real holding back. She had been through a lot with Jon and while the chemistry had matched from the very beginning, there had been a built up she couldn't deny. She cared about him deeply, but her mind was confused.

Kalique had always had a hard time admitting real feelings as she was not only used to being alone but also always on duty and focused on work, never truly occupying herself with following any other thoughts that basic needs, but she had to admit to herself that she definitely felt something for him, maybe even ever since they had run into each other on Raxus.

In this situation her mind was still way too overstrained to even comprehend that was really happening right now, but she obviously didn't pull away. It was as if this slow-burn had reached its peak and she softly let her lips melt against his as she realized that it just felt right regardless of the circumstances. Butterflies were set loose in the pit of her stomach and overwhelmed by this sudden release of emotions, she could even feel a faint layer of tears swelling in her closed eyes. Fuck...How long had she felt this way? It only added to this inner emotional confusion and was perhaps a little too much to bear given her state so that he would feel her stagger before she stabilized herself by reaching forward and holding on.

There was a moment of hesitation before he stepped closer, and their lips softly connected. Suspended in that moment, everything seemed less significant.

The feelings spread out over months of missions, meetings, and encounters. They ran the gambit of fear and frustration to trust, acceptance, and everything in between. He had experienced all of them for this woman. They now all blended together into this one moment.

He found an anchor in the soft touch of her lips and her breath on his face. As the kiss extended, he reached up and ran a hand along the side of her neck, thumb grazing her jawline. He kissed her again, a hint of heat mixed in with all of the other emotions of the moment.

She staggered slightly, and he pulled back, hands moving to hold her. His face still inches for hers; he paused for a second, letting the moment last just a bit longer before whispering. "I guess you should get some rest."

Perhaps the scenery right in the middle of the med bay corridor with busy droids milling about around wasn't the most romantic venue, but the first kiss they shared simply felt incredible.

A shiver ran down her spine, but while the ones she had experienced during the mission had been a result of the terrors they had faced together, it was now the pleasant result of those countless feelings that were suddenly set free, now that she allowed them to surface.

She lost herself in this beautifully tender moment and gently tugged him closer before her body could no longer keep her on her feet like that. Even if she didn't want this to end, he had a point. Since he was carefully holding her though, she did dare to lean in one more time, letting her lips softly melt against his before she slowly pulled back, meeting his gaze.

"I'm afraid you're right..." she whispered softly, a hint of sadness bleeding into her voice as she actually just craved for holding him close even though her body was simply starting to give in.

"You're not just getting away now though". With him holding her and thus lending her the needed stability, she reached up and gently cupped his cheeks, her thumb softly running over his cheeks as her lips brushed against his lips again.

The color did return to her cheeks as she felt an inner, pleasant warmth flood her while she put more passion into the kiss that had started so softy. For now, it was just them and nothing else around, but she already knew this moment had to end and she'd have to lie down again soon. If he left tomorrow, she had no idea where he'd go, but she had a feeling he'd follow her suggestion of shooting her a message.
