APPEARANCE:
Varik is very tall but he weighs very little and gives him a gaunt appearance. His eyes perpetually have dark circles under them due to a staggering lack of sleep and will often times be red from waking in tears to terrible nightmares. Depending on how invested in his work he becomes he will sometimes not shave and a patchy blonde beard will form on his face and he will let his hair grow longer. He does not like to look at himself and will sometimes go months without seeing his own appearance and not think to groom himself until someone points it out. When he does take care of himself he can come out quite presentable and many would never suspect anything different about him. He is pale from locking himself in whatever lab he can find. He finds the traditional black robes of the Sith to be an easy and comfortable fit for him but when he is working he will wear short sleeve shorts so as not to interfere with his work. Covering his arms are needle marks from his addiction to the drug Conergin, a sedative he discovered while in Medical School that helped him to sleep.
ATTRIBUTES:
Varik is a skilled doctor who attended medical school on the planet of Coruscant. He is well versed in not only the human anatomy, but also that of multiple other species, and is comfortable operating on most. He is well versed in most medical knowledge but he chooses to use his talents, in conjunction with the force, to focus on the art of Sith Magic and Alchemy. He is obsessed with death and is currently looking for ways to create life and become a God. Trained late in life, Varik is no threatening a Sith, and he is mostly used for his talents in the arts of the force. While it is still mostly knew to him the intricacies do not fail him and he is a quick learner. Though he knows the basics, his skills with a lightsaber are sub par at best, and he would sooner use his wits to weasel out of a confrontation than his blade. None the less, he will never be seen without his weapon, as he is quite proud of it. His addiction to Conergin will often times leave him incapable of anything but tremors and violent outbursts of anger.
PERSONALITY:
Varik is first observed as quite twitchy and almost mad as he is a fast talker and nearly uncaring for most people. He very rarely makes eye contact with those he speaks with and is seen as timid by most. This does little to bother him as he would prefer to be left to his work and if others think him to be weak they will often times not bother him. He is prone to violent outbursts when he is frustrated and will sometimes go a bit mad. He is easily restrained and will usually calm down but if he is left to his own devices these fits of rages will often result in extensive damage to whatever is near. Varik does not fear death and will often times stare it in the face, in fact, he welcomes it on most occasions but it seems to ever elude him. When caught in a good mood Varik can be quite caring and do a nearly 180 in personality. He is loyal to those who were able to get through his annoyances and once he becomes a friend he is like a dog to them, forever loyal and blindingly obedient.
BIOGRAPHY:
Varik was born on Coruscant to a wealthy noble family and was given all the opportunity in the world from a young age. An avid reader, Varik would spend most of his youth reading books and his fascination with the human body had him reading anatomy books from a very young age. In his free time, he quite enjoyed poetry, and would often read it for hours dreaming of a romantic life when he grew up. He was a model child for his extravagantly wealthy parents, smart, attractive, and well mannered but things changed when his mother died when he was but thirteen. His fascination with bringing loved ones back from the dead began.
His life changed and he became a much more reserved child citing poetry as foolish and focusing on his studies. He attended the best medical school on Coruscant and his anti social life began. Graduating top of his class, Varik was slated to become one of the best doctors the school had produced, but soon after receiving his medical degree he vanished. For a few years he traveled, studying on different planets, offering his services to make ends meat. It was not until he was forced to save the life of a Sith that he was discovered. Though faint, he was told the force flowed through his veins, and that the Sith could give him the tools he needed to bring the dead to life.
This was all that needed to be said.
An outcast even among Sith, he won no favors from the power hungry Sith who viewed him as weak due to his tiny frame and inability to wield a lightsaber as quickly or powerfully as other acolytes. He learned the basics, but his real passion was the texts and holocrons of Naga Sadow who he began to idolize. Much like him he was someone who focused on Sith Magic and Sith alchemy to conquer his foes and Varik began to experiment with different forms of Alchemy. He learned to enchant weapons and make them stronger, control small beasts, but the power to raise the dead ever eluded him. His quest to control over the human body continues now, as a Sith.
