  This fundamental teaching has been the cornerstone of the Mirialan belief. Through its message, a deepset feeling of responsibility and compassion for her people was instilled in Vera.
  
  
  From a young age Vera witnessed the atrocities that accompanied war, she could not believe that violence was the answer to the galaxy's issues. She would spend days mulling over the words of the mirialan teaching until one day she derived her own meaning from them, 'Violence leads to violence, only through mediation shall there be true peace.' From that day forward she pledged to a life of pacifism and mediation. She could feel that she had some innate connection to the force and through it she was able to use her words to pacify any trouble that came before her. Her connection to the force did not go unnoticed as a passing Jedi that had been on mission of diplomatic importance had sensed her profound ability and offered her a chance to join their order and follow the path that the force would reveal. Vera saw this opportunity as a chance to make a difference on the battlefields and perhaps by her hands, help bring peace to the galaxy.
  
  
  When it came to learning how to understand the force, Vera was all too keen. She would spend hours upon hours in meditation, strengthening her connection to the force considerably however she did not show much interest in learning the ways of the lightsaber and thus her training suffered, she studied the forms of Jar'kai and soresu allowing her to use a pair of lightsabers however she focused only on how to defend herself from an aggressor and nothing more for she despised the weapons and against the wishes of the other jedi, rarely kept them on her person. Her peers and superiors did not understand fully her choices and thus she was seen within the order as being foolish. Despite this, she successfully made it through the rigorous training accustomed to her late joining of the order and was named a knight of the Jedi.
  
  
  It was then when she understood how insignificant she was in the grand scheme of things and that it was very unlikely that she would make any impact on the galaxy. This did not discourage her. She knew that this would be a long journey, however it would be one worth fighting for.
  
• Vera's skin is pale olive in colour making her skin tone more similar to a human's than other members of her species. As is customary of the mirialan species she sports geometrical tattoos on her upper cheeks and across her nose. The number of tattoos represent the number of important deeds completed by the mirialan. Her cheekbones are sharp and shape her face towards a dainty, pointed chin.
  
  She prefers to not wear the heavy, draping robes that most jedi don and instead wears a tightly fitted black sleeveless robe that fits her slim but defined build.

  EMPATHETIC: Friend or foe, Vera will attempt to understand another's points of view and what their motive might be before making a decision. This trait has allowed her to relate to people on a deeper level and form deeper connections with them. Some call this her greatest strength while others think of it as a crippling weakness.
  
  GENTLE: Vera is opposed to all violence, as a result she is incredibly gentle with everyone she meets. In training she has been ridiculed for her inability to strike her opponent however she discards it as she knows what she is doing is right. There have been those who have sought to take advantage over this pacifism and to those people she is not afraid to teach a lesson.
  
  FAITHFUL: Vera holds her mirialan beliefs in high regard. Through this spirituality her devotion to the force has strengthened massively and she spends a large amount of time in meditation.
  
  MAGNANIMOUS: To call Vera forgiving would be an understatement. She holds no grudges and will always offer an option of mercy towards an opponent. She understands that everyone has a reason for fighting and are not past redemption, to her, everyone deserves a second chance.
