DESCRIPTION
The Vexatious-class starfighter, commonly referred to as the Imperial Vex Fighter, the Vex Fighter or simply the Vex, is a breakout starfighter design by Imperial Sienar Systems, originally the venerable Republic Sienar Systems in the years before the Sith takeover. Having changed its name along with its allegiances, Sienar accordingly rolled out a fresh new design to meet Sith requirements, and became a rare success story in getting its product adopted by the Imperial military ahead of an offering from the traditionally favored Imperial Fleet Works.

The Vex is a sleek, well designed machine, meant to fill the role of an interceptor. It does this admirably, being equipped with twin medium laser cannons, a 3-shot concussion missile launcher and a top speed of 110 MGLT. The Vex is propelled by the revolutionary Sienar Ion Engine, or SIE, which contains only 1 moving part, making the design extremely easy to build and maintain. The SIE is said to make a distinctive sound when running, described as a hissing scream.

The Vex is the single most common starfighters in the entire Imperial military. Though it lacks a hyperdrive, the Imperial Navy carries the type aboard nearly all its capital warships, and so the type's dependence on support ships to travel interstellar distances is considered no great obstacle. At least a squadron of Vex fighters is also typically assigned to Imperial garrisons, making the type one of the most visible symbols of Imperial occupation on the worlds where they operate.

LEGALITY
Restricted. In civilized systems, pilots must be properly licensed or be members of recognized armed groups.

INTENT
To create a standard interceptor for Imperial use.

ADVANCED TECH
No. Vexatious-class starfighters are available, although being legally restricted makes them non-trivial for the average individual to own.
