BIOGRAPHY

Vilgur was born in 73 ABY to Rodhel and Maka Sapent (née Dalut), at the very last days that Rey Skywalker was still alive. From a young age, he was involved in Politics. His family had served as Senators, Representatives in the Planetary government, and Ministers on Abregado-Rae for years. His grandfather had been part of the Imperial Senate, until it was abolished and he became part of the Rebellion. His parents, while still young, were part of the Free Worlds Fleet that fought at Exegol. As he grew up, he saw the work of Chancellor Rose Tico to heal the galaxy. He wanted to help too. To that end, he enrolled in one of the Galaxy's foremost academies on Fondor.

At age 24, he managed to get a degree in Galactic Law History, and proceeded to be the Aide to Senator Ervil Kusp for years, working his way up to finally becoming the Minister of Agriculture. In that capacity, he used Abregado-Rae's location as the start of the Rimma Trade Route to secure food and medicine shipments outwards, towards the Free Worlds Alliance. He negotiated aid programs for worlds in the Outer Rim, to bind them closer to the Core and make them join the Free Worlds Alliance. As he grew older, he wanted to step into his grandfather's shoes. In 128 ABY, he first sought to become Senator of Abregado-rae. That opportunity failed, but when elections returned in 134 ABY, he stood again and defeated the incumbent Senator Arvil Pliklurt. During the campaign, Vilgur promoted the expansion of the Republic and the further cooperation with the Free Worlds Alliance, through the use of outreach programs, scientific exchange, and diplomatic services. He will now get to promote those ideas in the New Republic Senate, and hopefully the Galactic Senate.

Personality

Vilgur is a charismatic and outgoing person. He likes to converse and debate among other politicians, while also negotiating treaties and opportunities for cooperation. He considers himself a progressive Senator; not willing to side with the Centrists, out of fear of giving the Supreme Chancellor to much power, nor with the Populists, who seek to undermine the collaborative structure of the Senate with fierce self-government. In personal relations, Vilgur is a good friend to those who he has known a long time, and eager to make new allies. But he is fiercely against those who would seek to harm others by placing their own self-interest above those of the Republic. He is also firmly against the Sith, having heard his parents story in his youth, although he is no fan of the Jedi either and would rather see the Force going out of use entirely.

Skills

Vilgur is fluent in Basic and Huttese, having leard that second language in his long tenure as Minister. His foremost skills are Diplomacy and Rhetoric, using his words and orating to negotiate, rather than violence to get his goals. He knows how to fire a basic blaster, but is no trained soldier. And he can pilot a speeder or an aircar, but he is no skilled pilot and relies on others to fly his ships across space.
