Walking Among the Stars

original.gif

He was finally leaving. Removed from the squalor that had held him back all his life, Vilox had found a way to finally leave Almania behind and search the stars. Back in the day, as a boy, he had gazed up at the sky as his childhood sweetheart explained the various made up stories she had created about Pydyr, talking about the type of life they would live up there as servants to their vast wealth. This was, after all, the best that a Human from the cold, windy planet from down below could hope to achieve in life. At least up there they wouldn't have to worry about being hungry, or thirsty, or the other pitfalls that come with being improvised, such as crime.

Whereas Mia's imagination had been captured by the paradise that the Pydyrians enjoyed, Vilox had his gaze set upon the stars. At the highest point of noon, they and all the other Humans could see the three moons of Auyemesh, Drewwa and Pydyr in the sky amid dark clouds and gale force winds. This was what captured the imagination of children like themselves, but not Vilox. When the sun finally set behind the ruined sky of Almania, the boy would be able to see the midnight skies and wonder about the stars that shined from above. He longed to walk among them, to leave the squalor behind with Mia in his arms, so as to not be content with the idea of perhaps being selected to join the Pydyrians on their moon, but instead somewhere better, where they could be free.

Three nights ago he had seized the opportunity. A transport vessel coming in from the spaceport on Auyemesh was coming to Stonia, bringing with it a group of Pydyrians who were going to select their next servants to join them. As the crowds of Humans gathered in the city square, each pleading their case to join their alien overlords, Vilox had sneaked onto the ship and hid himself. He had watched and listened intently from his hiding space as the Pydyrians and their newly selected Humans climbed back aboard to leave Almania again. The ship had taken them all back to their paradise, and then when it was done, the pilot flew back to Auyemesh.

It had been roughly two weeks since then, and the transport was now heeding towards Sith space. It was all apart of the plan to join the masters of the dark side, and learn more about his powers. He would use them so that the squalor and poverty that had affected him all his life- and had subsequently cost him the one he loved most- would no longer hold him back. He was finally free.

Normally she would not deal with such beings, but the Pydyrians had been bragging (drunkenly perhaps) that they knew the location of a Sith Holocron. Most Sith would turn from the chance saying "It's nothing more than rumors and lies from the bottom of the cup." but she would never pass up the chance at Sith knowledge. Exiting Hyperspace she piloted her way towards a transport vessel where she was wold would hold the one she was looking for.

As she approached the ship she was contacted, "Hello! I am Drevam, you wouldn't happen to be the Sith that I heard was coming, would you?" A small Pydriian came up on her Holo-communicator that was obviously drunk. "Yes, and it would do you credit to allow me to board." She demanded though still trying to hide her thin patience, she noticed the small face grow dark, "Well you see, no one knows you're coming but I and that would be quite the shock don't you think?" Aryali gave a small smirk and looked down on the creature, "It seems you misunderstood the situation, this is Sith space. You do what I say when I say it because the Sith will not punish me for killing you, once I've extracted the information out of you that is. So be a doll and tell the captain that I'm joining their little cruise." With that, she hung up and began towards the ship.

Starting to dock she was happy to note that she was not stopped or interrupted which meant they listened to him or were too drunk to care. Stepping onto the ship she noticed that with each Pydyrian was a slave or two. The strange part was how happy they appeared to be as if some sort of spell came over them. caring for their masters she looked for Drevam in all the noise and stumbling of the intoxicated.

Positioned in a hatch overlooking the transport area, Vilox held himself down in a crouch. It was a small, enclosed space- barely big enough for a droid to make their way through- and so it hurt to be in this position unless he was laying down. But he had heard that someone was boarding the ship and wanted to find out who it was. For some, strange reason, it felt to the young man that something had actually pulled him out of his hiding place, where he had been waiting out until the ship arrived at somewhere more closer to his destination, and towards whoever they were that had just boarded. Something akin to a gravity well sucking in everything else towards them.

Rubbing his chin in thought, the boy studied Aryali as she spoke with the Pydyrians below. This was the first time that he had ever seen an alien other than a Pydyrian before. Studying her lekku, the way she carried herself, held Vilox's interest for quite sometime. Untrained in the ways of the Force, the boy held no ability to conceal his powers. He had been using them for quite sometime already, to carry out near impossible feats such as climbing the Je'har Towers on Almania, but had never properly manifested them. Still, he had felt the pull to the dark side. There was just something in him that made him angry, and full of rage. It was probably the indignity of growing up under the care of a whore, forced to walk dirtied, broken streets and associate with children that wouldn't go amiss in the Hutt Cartel.

As Vilox crouched there, observing the Sith, he found himself thinking these thoughts without really knowing why. There was just something in the air that was bringing out these dark thoughts. For the first time in a long time, Vilox found himself unsettled as he watched the Twi'lek from the hatch, with the Pydyrians unknowing that a stowaway was on their ship.

Aryali continued along the ships halls until she found the...creature she was looking for. Drevam was practiclly hiding in one of the corners of the private rooms which was empty expect for them. She noted the shaking and fear in his eyes and frowned, "You don't know the location of the holocron do you? You probably wouldn't know one if it was right in front of you!" The Sith shouted anger flowing through her veins. All the pathetic animal could do was wimper. Aryali drew her lightsaber and piointed the end at Drevam while not during it on. She stepped closer to the shivering thing and spoke in a soft voice, "You are a drunk fool. Did you really think bragging about acient knowledge would not reach me? DId you perhaps assume I would forgive you? I would be interested in your thoughts but that would mean being closer to you and you disgust me from the outside already." "Wait! I don't no where to find it but I know who does." The man reached into his coat and handed her a picture of a woman. "Good I was hoping that I wouldn't have to explain the corpse to the captain. After all, this trip was worth something, but I still think you should learn to respect the force." With that she fired Lightning from her fingertips as the room lit up from the burst of color. She stopped and left the room with the broken man left inside.

Walking out the room she felt a strong hatred that almost made her lose her footing. She knew this feeling well yet it was raw and untamed. The feeling of a lost and confused person, she knew that type well. Someone on this ship was force sensitive, and she doubted it was the creaure she "talked" with as well as all the others. It was possible it was one of the slaves yet they all seemed to happy to hold anger over there masters. This was someone else entirly and she grinned.
"Well as long as I'm here I might as well enjoy myself." She said to no one in particular. She made her way to the loung and took and empty sit, grbbing a drink she sipped happilly as she watched the party. Soon they would show themselves or she would force them to, but all in good time. Right now she would enjoy the drink.
