Wanted: New Tech Admin

One of our Technical Administrators, Lucid, has stepped down from his position, leaving Luciender as the only Technical Administrator at this time. We are looking for a new Technical Administrator to aide in and take the lead on numerous technical-related aspects of the site.

Tech Administrator Role
A SWRP Technical Administrator is responsible for dealing with all technical aspects of the website. He or she will deal with any issue ranging from design, coding, and the administrative control panel. The Technical Administrator will also deal with vBulletin, which is the host of the website, when the need arises.

Specific tasks will include customizing the site (forum skins, installing mods, etc) at the request of the staff, fixing the site when there are technical errors, introducing the content side of vBulletin in order to drive more activity, and eventually introducing a centralized main page at http://www.thestarwarsrp.com that will include a news/website in order to drive the site forward into 2013 and the years beyond.

Technical Administrators are welcome to participate in general staff discussions, though it is not required. Additionally, a Technical Administrator is not considered to be one that has any administrative dealings with the role-play, only technical matters.

Skills and Experience

• Experience and proficiency in vBulletin, SQL, and PHP
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability and willingness to take technical direction from the staff
• An understanding of the technical needs of online communities
• A friendly and engaging personality
• Willingness to devote a lot of time to ensuring the technical side of SWRP is running smoothly
