Republic Outpost, Randon.
Taz's dice thread.

Randon, a small insignificant planet smack dab in the middle of the mid rim between the Republic core and Hutt space. It was also home to the forward outpost and spring point base for the GAR war effort. Thus it would be the ideal place for Sith Master Vash to launch his insurgent style of attack.

So far as the Nightbringer was aware, the cartel was still an ally to the Empire. At least for the moment. He was also not completely aware of the full measure of the NAP. Care was needed. Vash left anything to identify him as a Sith back on the Tempest, which was safe in Imperial space. Confiscating a light freighter and and his apprentice would travel to the outpost planet and land in the slums of the city.

Touching her mind through their bond as Master and apprentice Vash would speak to Aris without speaking a word. "Prepare yourself, we will search the industrial sector until we find what we are looking for." Then he departed the ship and headed east. For his part he was dressed as a standard freighter pilot with only his pistol visible at his hip. His sabers were tucked away in his boots and grenades were hidden standard looking utility pouches.

Leaving behind her Sith gear made Aris feel naked. She liked the way the typical black-and-scary looking clothing made others tense around her and fear her. Having that power over them was a thrill she'd not ever experienced. Who would have thought someone as so.....meek as her could ever be intimidating? But the Imperial crest on her clothes and a saber at her hip changed all of that. And they were right to fear her. In the hand of her master she'd grown so much in the Dark side. She was a Sith Knight, a priestess of the Dark, a witch in the night.

Tonight, however, that all changed. She was forced to abandon her ever-so-loved clothing in place of some soldier's uniform. The outfit was bulky and didn't fit her just right. The sleeves were too long and the vest came almost halfway down her butt. She looked very much like a child wearing an adult's. Yet, she was petite so there was really nothing they could have done save for gone out previously and tailored it. Still, it held the look because not even the Republic would spend the extra resources to custom-fit every soldier that came out of boot camp. With her hair pulled up into the bowl-helmet she really looked like some run-of-the-mill rookie fresh to the front lines.

Like her master, she was armed only with a pistol to show she wasn't marching onto battle. She would likewise carry grenades as he had in the utility pouches. The biggest difference between them was his saber was readily accessible to him. Hers was not. Being that her blade was longer than his as it was a staff, she could not simply stash it in her boot. Aris had to tuck hers inside the bag she carried over her shoulder which also had some light supplies like some simple coin, a day or two worth of food rations, as well as communicators should they need to split up. If Aris were to need her saber, she'd have to unpack it from the stash. Alternatively, though she'd risk the contents of the bag, she could activate the blade and call it to her hand if an emergency were to occur.

"Prepare yourself, we will search the industrial sector until we find what we are looking for."

"I am ready, my master" she would reply back to him.

Knowing to always be on time, she'd gone ahead and had everything packed and ready to go well in advance. As she waited for him to come for her, she had been kneeling down in her room and mediating. It was something she didn't get to do often as most of her time was either training her body or enhancing her mind. There was never time to sit idly by and contemplate the way of things. Sure it was something a well-trained Sith Lord would know to do, but Aris was not there yet. Nor would she fool herself into thinking so. She was a weapon, and had to be as sharp as she could be.

Following after her master she joined him at the ship's exit and followed after him like she was his escort. That part was true at least. She was his protection. She was the warrior and he the pilot. Though from another perspective he, in this circumstance, was merely the escort to her. The pilot dropping off the soldier to her new post. Either way. It didn't matter their story. No one would ask them questions until they got somewhere a typical soldier wasn't meant to be. And by the time whomever it was came to question them, Aris would be sure to cut them down.

Giving her a pleased nod the disguised Sith departed from the ship with Aris following behind. They were not inside the base, nor were they going to be. A direct act like that was not permitted, at least not yet. No, here they were little more then a pair of pubs wondering the outskirts of the city. Vash would look the part by having his hands in the pocket of his vest as looking around. He would seem distracted but it was all an act.

Reaching out with the force the assassin would allow his senses to feed on the sights and sounds surrounding them. He was also feeling for emotions and thoughts. Not focused, not yet. Just enough to find a clue as to where the Republic might of been hiding in plane sight. It would not take long for him to find what it was he was looking for. He would start to walk in the direction of the sensation. The feeling of a board warrior, wanting to be important, to be on the front line. He felt similar emotions from time to time from his own Imperial troopers.

"This way, I have something, probably a guard or something." he said into Aris' mind.

Aris could sense that her master was searching for something. She would not get in his way. She kept her mind focused on the task at hand. Soon they would be in battle and soon she would need to give it everything she had. For now, she would quiet her mind and let the Force speak to them. She would need to build up the darkness inside her to connect with the Force. So that's what she did. Following absently behind her master she let the teachings cycle in her mind as she reminded herself what it meant to be a Sith.

"This way, I have something, probably a guard or something."

"I am ready, my master."

His voice in her head brought her out of her concentration. It was almost time. Aris nodded, not that he would see it, and continued to follow his lead. Her hands itched to have her saber in them again, but there was nothing she could do about it. She hoped she didn't actually need to use the gun he'd given her. She'd honestly never even fired it, let alone any other type of firearm. She'd seen them used plenty of times. Aim down the scope and pull the trigger. How hard could it be...?

Vash could feel his apprentice first build power and then suddenly shift and think about her weapon. He stopped tracking his prey for a moment and reached into her mind to bring her back to focus. "Remember your power Aris, You are a Sith Witch you have now in your blood that of the same line as the feared Witches of Dathomir. Think of that before you think of that pistol." He voice in her mind was calm, like that of a teacher or father figure. It was an odd approach for the Nightbringer but it was meant to ease her nerves rather then set her further on edge.

Vash would then refocus on the feeling of the guard, and after walking a few more blocks he found what he was looking for. A guard, he was trying to hide himself as some slum thug or spice dealer perhaps but the Sith knew the truth of his thoughts. Checking for corners, and exits. Suspicion of everyone who passed by. The radio traffic every time they did as well.

"Found them. Now, what do you think we should do to get past him..hmm?"

All was in place for the two Sith, and the target was just ahead of them. The lowly little guard had no idea of the danger he was in. As Vash was guiding his apprentice to the next part of the mission when his datapad buzzed in it's pouch. The Nightbringer cursed behind his helmet, and reached for the palm sized computer. A message, forwarded to him by his droid 44 from his Wraith(@Dread). The message was simple.

No!

He sighed with a mild irritation but accepted the message for what it was. Placing his datapad back into it's pouch he spoke within Aris' mind. "Come apprentice." He said, as simple as the message given to him.

//End Thread.
