Despite her activity Jaina rarely engaged in long fights and felt she had the need to do so, especially since she barely managed to escape with her life in a recent mission. Considering that she was quite excited when she found out that a padawan was looking for a dueling opponent. She had never heard of said padawan before, but judging by what she read about him in his profile in the databases, which she found through looking up his name - Rengar, he was quite a formidable person from a species she had not encountered before but had heard of. She knew only one thing for certain - the duel she had signed up for was going to be a challenge.

Upon Jaina's request, the duel was to take place in an open area near a river and a waterfall, relatively close to the jedi temple on Arba. She preferred to battle out in the open rather than the dueling arena, for it wasn't an often occasion for dueling arenas to be available for battles during missions. Whereas fighting out in the open provided one with a more natural environment.

Jaina arrived at the meeting place early, as usual. She sat down just by the rived and after taking out her lightsaber and placing it in her lap, she began meditating, whilst awaiting for the arrival of her opponent.

As a newcomer to both the Jedi and Arbra, Rengar was constantly finding himself in situations that fed the innate curiosity of his people. In his heart he knew that this day would in fact be one that played to his interests the most since his arrival to this planet. Having volunteered to participate in a sparring match with a fellow Jedi, this one being a Knight of the Order named Jaina, the Kushari knew that this would be a test unlike any he hqd faced before. The heretics and defilers of Kushaa'vo were untrained... whereas this woman had proved herself in the eyes of her peers. This reversal of roles felt odd to Rengar, as he was accustomed to generally having the upper-hand and respect of his peers... On Arbra and among the Jedi he was the enigma, the unknown.

Standing upon the ridge of the waterfall, the male warrior clad in his battle armor with his crescent sword resting comfortably upon his hip. The green orbs of his eyes peering down into the little meadow where the female awaited him. Her position intriguing to him as she had apparently made no preparations for the battle that they had been assigned to. She simply sat... and waited.

After a few moments, Rengar had scaled the rock face and made his way onto level ground to the warrior that he was expected to do battle with. He saw no signs of weaponry on her persons, which peaked his interest. How could a woman of her size and stature expect to best him even in a friendly competition without some means of defense. It was this train of thought and his inexperience with humans in general that lead to his awkward introduction...

"Greetings little human, I am Rengar. I couldn't help but notice your lack of a weapon... will we be sparring with only our bodies, or am I mistaken somehow?"

Jaina had felt her opponent approach and even so her senses could never have prepared her for the question he posed. A weird smile appeared across her face as she wasn't certain of how to properly react without insulting her opponent. She opened her eyes and after a brief look of the huge white cat-tiger that was standing in front of her she stood up, while grabbing her lightsaber hilt with her right hand.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Rengar. I am Jaina." she said with a soft voice, while slightly inclining her head. "I assume you do not know much about the jedi, yet." she activated her lightsaber and the orange blade pierced through the air between the pair. "This is a lightsaber, the weapon of the jedi. You will learn more about it when the time comes. All you need to know about it for our duel is that it won't cause you any injuries, but a strike would inflict pain and may even cause some numbness. Nevertheless, I should tell you that I am not one to turn down a hand-to-hand spar, but perhaps we could leave that for next time?" Jaina took several steps back sliding off her cloak, while swapping the weapon between her hands, she threw the piece of clothing to the side, remaining only in her robes. She undertook the ataru opening stance and made sure to switch the lightsaber to training mode as she didn't want to slice any limbs off her counterpart. "Are you ready to begin?"

That last question seemed pointless of her to ask. Rengar was much bigger and stronger than her, not to mention that he probably had a natural instinct to hunt and kill, which didn't exactly put the odds in her favor. The real question was of how much use could the Force be against such an opponent, or rather how well could Jaina use the Force against such an opponent. She knew the fight was going to be a challenge and she was ready to face it.
