Jedi Temple, General Storage

The general storage room was actually less of a storage room and more of a dumping ground for stuff that no one wanted but no one wanted to throw away. So the room was filled with all sorts of stuff and a decent size, but it was rarely visited. That, of course, meant it would be perfect to set up a prank. She would have ample time to set it up, and if someone walked in, plenty of places to hide.

Maura was actually supposed to be in class, but she'd decided to skip when she'd been told there would be a substitute. She was finding it exceedingly difficult to go to class. Not because it was hard to get to class or anything, but it was just hard for her to want to go. Her teachers used to love her, but now they scolded her for everything she did. Likewise, she used to have friends in every class. Now they got fed up with her and told her to go away. Maura wasn't exactly sure what had happened, but she was trying not to be bothered by it.

"Class is boring anyways," she declared to herself as she teetered on the edge of a box ten feet up off the ground, fiddling with a mess of strings. "Everyone takes forever to learn anything and I could catch up in a day if I wanted to!"

With a final tug, Maura separated the bundle of string and began to use her sharp nails like crochet hooks to twist and knot the strings into something more suitable. The strings went off in two different directions with one leading to a bucket of water and falling down to the ground below. She was trying to create a slipknot of sorts that would tighten when pulled hard enough but would be able to be lengthed again later. It was needed for the classic bucket-of-water-over-the-door prank the alien was working on setting up, though her progress was slow going.

"It's not fair that I don't have a master yet, anyways," grumbled the kid as she dropped the finished knot from her hand and began to climb down the stack of boxes. "I'm totally ready for a master! I'm the best in all my classes!"

When her bare feet hit the ground, she grabbed the dangling bit of string and yanked it down from the tower as she made her way towards the to-be-pranked door. She began to tie the string around the handle, trying to get it taut without actually pulling the bucket down herself.

It was a pretty normal day on Yavin. Peaceful, quiet, calm, harmonious, soothing, tranquil, serene, relaxing, but most importantly it was boring. Issyl was pretty studious and worked hard, but even she needed a few days to have fun. She wished the order could build a pool, a movie theatre, or literally anything that could provide entertainment. She could already hear the words of some wise-ass master "A Jedi does not seek entertainment from worldly possessions, rather the interactions they have with others." However, entertainment would be seeking out Issyl.

A very upset knight turned around the corner; Issyl knew they were upset because they had a very expressive frown. "What is the matter?" She asked the knight. "Ugh one of my students ditched her class again, and I need to find her." The knight rested both of his hands on his hip. "Well," Issyl responded "I could help you look for her. What does she look like?" The knight took a deep breath "Dirty unwashed multi-colored hair, tan skin, super short, smells like bantha farts, ten years old, dresses like a homeless person, and her voice is very annoying." Issyl was a bit shocked at the Knight's response but kept her composure "Duly noted. You go back to your class and I'll bring the girl." The knight gave a slight bow and scurried back to his classroom.

Issyl walked around the temple checking whatever rooms she was allowed to enter in. She didn't see anyone matching the description while on this wild goose chase. Issyl could hear a bunch of ruckus coming from a nearby storage room. She went over to the door and knocked on it "Is everything ok in there?" Before she received a response, Issyl pushed open the door and in her view stood the smelly rainbow haired girl.

The kid continued to mess with the string for a bit, but she soon realized trying to set up the contraption with the bucket in place was maybe not the best idea. She scrambled back up onto the tower of boxes, reached out her hands, and carefully pulled the bucket into them via the Force. Once the bucket was in her hands, Maura caught sight of her reflection.

She always had her blue baseball cap on, but today she didn't for once. She'd misplaced it, and had spent fruitless hours looking for it, so she'd been forced to go without it today. It was actually another reason she'd chosen to skip class. Looking down at her reflection in the water, she was reminded of why she liked it so much. Her hair was choppy and knotted, had split, dead ends, and was anything but healthy or manageable. Maura loved having colorful hair. She'd always had colorful hair, but she would be outright lying if she ever told someone she loved her hair.

With furrowed brows, Maura carefully made her way down the tower with the bucket. Upon reaching the floor, she plopped herself down in front of it and continued to stare. Her friends used to tell her that her hair was really cool, and they were right! 'My hair is cool!' It was so cool, in fact, that people commented on it all the time. People turned their heads to look at her cool hair all the time. People-

"Is everything ok in there?"

Maura's black eyes widened at the sound, and she jumped to action immediately. The bucket was shoved behind a convenient nearby box just before the door swung open. Maura's black eyes met Issyl's, though the light coming in from the hall into the dark storage room reflected in an eerie glow off her pupils. She stayed like that for a few moments, just staring wide-eyed at Issyl, before a cheeky grin manifested on her lips.

"Hi Issyl!" Maura gave the older padawan a little wave. "What are you doin' here on this fine afternoon?"

The strange glare from an empty void made Issyl step back for a moment, thinking it was actually a creature in the college. Although she quickly reassured herself that it was indeed the girl she was looking for."Oh it was you he was describing." Issyl recalled seeing the girl before, but couldn't quite remember her name; it seems Issyl finds herself in similar situations constantly. "Anywho, I'm here because I was looking for you specifically. Some knight said you're ditching class. Well, I assume you know which Knight I'm talking about." Issyl placed both of her hands on her hips and looked down at Maura "However you need to attend your classes. What are you even doing in here?"

Issyl opened the door more and stepped into the storage room. She took notice of the large stack of boxes that were right by the door, the string that went everywhere, and a bucket full of water. Trying to figure out what was going on, she looked at the bucket, then the string, then the door, and repeated this until her brain started to hurt. "What were you doing with all of this? Also," Issyl pinched her nose shut after a harsh stench invaded her nostrils "when was the last time you took a bath? No wonder you skipped class. We gotta get you some soap and water first girl." As much as Issyl adored Maura's cute appearance, the smell was really awful.

Maura's face scrunched up when Issyl voiced her recognition of the girl, but quickly morphed into something artificially innocent when she was asked what she was doing. If Issyl had been sent to get her, it was possible she might be willing to get Maura in trouble, so the girl was gonna be careful.

"Uhhh, nothing?" Unfortunately she couldn't really stop the older padawan from looking around and seeing the elaborate setup Maura was working on. She couldn't tell if Issyl was connecting the dots or not either. "Just playing around. Ya know, physics n' stuff... I dunno."

While Issyl glanced about, Maura began to kick the misplaced strings to the side in order to get them out of open view. If anyone else walked in, she didn't want them seeing it. She only paused when Issyl asked her the last time she'd bathed, to which she looked comically offended.

"I bathed literally yesterday! I just didn't use soap 'cause my friend Cathy had to borrow mine a few days ago but she keeps forgetting to give it back." A defiant pout formed on her lips as her arms tightened across her chest. "Plus, there's no way I stink that badly."

With that, Maura raised her arm and sniffed her armpit. The color quickly drained from her face as her features contorted in disgust at the stench. 'Okay... I guess I stink a little...' Though she was a bit disheartened by this fact, she came to the conclusion that it meant Issyl wouldn't take her back to class.

'Wait, isn't there soap in one of these boxes?' Without saying a word to Issyl, Maura turned and ran off into the storage room, straight for a box she was pretty sure she saw old soaps in. It didn't take her long to find the old box, but it didn't contain soap. It actually contained perfumes.

"No need!" Maura shouted from across the room as she plucked a dust-covered bottle from the box. She flicked the cap right off and let the spray loose into the air. The flowery scent surrounded and clung to the girl's tan skin and colorful hair, and the stink of body odor was replaced with an overwhelming aroma of perfume. It was so strong, in fact, that she began coughing almost immediately as she stumbled away from the falling cloud of scent.

She had held onto the bottle though. The devilish idea of perfume-bombing someone was too good to leave behind.

Issyl squinted her eyes with suspicion upon Maura saying she was just playing around. 'Where did she even get all of this string?' The girl was obviously up to something, and Issyl remembered hearing about a young girl causing trouble around the temple recently. Surely the little rainbow haired gremlin was the culprit.

Maura's explanation for her stench was hardly believable either. Sharing soap seem completely appalling to Issyl. She watched as Maura sniffed her self and couldn't help but laugh upon seeing the child's facial expression. Issyl's expression suddenly came to show surprise; she realized it had been awhile since she actually laughed. She watched Maura intently as she dug through some boxes, and her eyes widened upon seeing the girl hold out a bottle of perfume. "Wait don't spray it!" Issyl cried out. It was too late; the room was instantly filled with a flowery artificial aroma strong enough to make anyone cough their lungs out.

Waving her hand to try and waft the scent away, Issyl noticed Maura stumbling back. In a short moment she reached out and caught Maura's hand and pulled her into her chest. "Jeez, you need to be more careful" Issyl said while letting Maura go and taking a step back. She could see why the Knight seemed so upset when talking about Maura, and who knows how long she's been up to no good. Issyl bent over to look at Maura face-to-face.

"Ya know, you still haven't told me why you were ditching class." Issyl ran her hand through the thin knotted bright colored hair. "How about we make a deal? If I help you with whatever physics thing you were setting up, will you start attending your classes?" She reached her hand out and held her pinky up as a sign for Maura to accept the deal.

"I do attend my classes! We have a substitute today and she's dumb, so it's different." Maura ducked to get Issyl's hand out of her hair and immediately began to fuss with it herself to "fix" it. "But you should help me set up my thing anyway! It's a booby trap!"

With a mischievous grin, Maura grabbed the string and yanked on it. Nothing was connected to the contraption, but the knot tightened and pulled against where the bucket would eventually be set.

"When someone opens the door, the inside door handle will tug on the string and cause this bucket of water to tip over on the unsuspecting victim!" She gestured to the bucket of water sitting nearby. "You're taller than me though so I think you could reach it better."

Issyl listened intently to Maura's explanation of the trap. She looked at the bucket, the string, and then the top of the door. "Hmm, ya know I think I know an easier way to do this. However," Issyl glared down at Maura "Substitute or not, you have to start going to your classes now, and I'm not taking no for an answer."

"Now, watch and learn."
She went to the door first and closed it partially, but still left a tiny opening. Then, Issyl lifted the bucket with the force and moved it towards the top of the door. It took a moment to get it right, but eventually she was able to get it to stay on top. "See? If let it stay close to the wall, it can balance on the door. No string needed" She looked down towards Maura and smiled. Pointing towards a set of boxes at the side, she continued "Now hide behind those boxes back there, but get the perfume ready. We have to lure in our victim." Issyl walked towards the door and placed her face close to the opening. "SOMEONE HELP!" she screamed. Issyl grabbed a bottle of perfume herself, hid behind some boxes, and giggled.

Quick and growing footsteps could be heard. Issyl looked back towards Maura with a childish grin of her own. A knight came to their 'rescue', quickly pushed the door open, and stepped inside. "What's wro-"

SPLASH

The bucket tipped over as he opened the door and splashed the knight with water. "Now!" Issyl yelled. She stood up and sprayed the Knight with the strong perfume.

When Issyl glared down at the girl, she would be met with the girl's tongue stuck straight out at her. A bit of spit sprayed out from her defiant gesture, but she decided not to argue otherwise with Issyl's lecturing. She might've, but the older padawan immediately flipped the tone and began to play along with Maura's antics. That was more than enough for her to "watch and learn."

"Okay!" Maura watched as Issyl carefully set the bucket up on the top of the door, though she looked a bit doubtful. "Won't the bucket just- okay!" Before she could get her question out, Issyl let a scream rip from her throat. The sound of it startled the girl a bit, but she grabbed her perfume and hid right away.

A fit of giggles escaped Maura as soon as the knight entered the room. The bucket spilled over onto the knight, but luckily the object itself fell to the side and missed the victim's noggin. Just after Issyl popped out to spray him, Maura repeated her actions and sprayed her own bottle of perfume directly at the man.

"Ah! What the he-!" The knight raised his palms to his face to save his eyes and mouth from the scented spray, and Maura took that opportunity to sprint right out of the room. Her giggles grew quieter as she booked it down the hallway unless, of course, Issyl was right on her tail.

Maura made her way towards the mess hall, which was probably sparsely populated now that lunch had pretty much ended. She wasn't attempting to lose Issyl, so on her way there, she made no effort to juke the padawan. Once she slipped between the doors of the hall, she marched right up to the counter with a tray ready to receive her food.

"What in the name of the Force did you get yourself into, Maura?" asked the woman behind the counter as she slid the pre-prepared food over onto Maura's tray. "Perfume!" was Maura's proud answer.

Issyl quickly followed up behind Maura, shutting the door to the closet behind her. "Sorry!" She called out to the Knight before taking off. Issyl ran as hard as she could to catch up but was still quite a ways behind Maura. 'My goodness does this little orange ball of terror run fast.'

She ran into the mess hall after Maura, taking a look behind her to make sure the Knight was on their tail. Once inside Issyl took a moment to catch her breath before heading over to the young girl. She placed her head on top of the rainbow head and looked at the woman behind the counter "We were just getting some fun exercise in." Issyl couldn't help but giggle. The lady gave her a suspicious look "Now Miss Damol don't let this little one get you caught up in her troublesome schemes too" she said with a smile. Issyl nodded before edging Maura to find a seat.

"Oh dangit!" Issyl exclaimed "I forgot I was suppose to bring you back." She walked next to Maura, and looked around the mess hall "I guess it's too late for that.." the padawan mumbled. Turning her gaze down to Maura she continued "Did you have fun? I know I did. We should do more stuff like this! Though we can't do it all the time. How about after our daily classes we go mess around." It was like having a little sister to mess around with from time to time, but Issyl knew the importance of the classes. Causing too much trouble could lead to them getting removed from the order entirely.

"I think that sounds fun!" chirped Maura in response to Issyl's suggestion as she plopped her tray down on the table. "I think we should go during classes though," she added on matter-of-factly. A pensive look darkened Maura's face. After a moment, she shook her head.

"Actually, no. We should go after class." Though she was currently skipping class, Maura actually liked a lot of her classes. Some of them were fun! Her favorite was the beginning martial arts class because her teacher was nice and complimented her reflexes. If they met during class, she wouldn't get to go to that one! That would make her sad. Plus, she was already on thin ice.

After she finished reminiscing on her favorite class, her black eyes dropped down to the tray in front of her. She was the last to get lunch, which meant she was left with leftovers. To her delight, the lunch lady had pretty much used Maura's tray as a vehicle to get rid of some extra food. Where it was standard to only get a few slices of meat and a scoop of each side, she'd gotten four slices of meat and a heaping pile of each side!

"Issyl, look! She gave me extras!" Maura pointed this out with an excited squeal just before digging into her food like a starved animal. Within a few minutes, the alien girl had devoured half her tray.

"Whaw ef ensed awf waer weh oused mwashed pohatoes?" She looked expectingly at Issyl for several moments, swallowed, then repeated the question. "What if we used mashed potatoes instead of water? That would be funny!" Maura fell into a fit of giggles at the thought of a knight getting doused in creamy potatoes. 'I would so totally get in trouble, but it would be so totally worth it!'

Issyl sat across the young girl and happily watched her eat. Although, it quickly turned into disgust as Maura scarfed down the contents plopped on top of the tray as if she was a savage beast tearing into a rotten bantha carcass.

Using mashed potatoes instead of water was a devious idea, and Issyl was totally down to try it. "It might be hard to get the mashed potatoes to fall out of the bucket so we would need to water them down. Ooh we could try apple sauce as well!" She let out a dorky laugh but it was cut quit upon seeing an irritated wet knight step through a door behind Maura.

Issyl could see him glaring them down, and she wasn't about to get in trouble herself. "Hey Maura I'm gonna run to the bathroom real quick, enjoy your food." The padawan flashed a warm smile before hastily making her way out of the cafeteria, leaving the little runt for dead. "I'm sooo sssoooooorrryy!!!" Issyl screamed internally as she walked out of the cafeteria and then promptly sprinted down the hallway.
