Jacata's starfighter lurched slightly as it came out of hyperspace at the given coordinates. They were not far from the station but it was surrounded by an asteroid field. The two Jedi assigned to this mission were to navigate the asteroid field and drop beacons so further repair ships could navigate to the station and clear the station of any dangers.

The Padawan's legs ached. He always felt cramped in starfighters. Not being able to walk around triggered slight claustrophobia in him but for now, he just wanted to stretch his legs.

"So where do we start?" he asked the Jedi Knight, looking out the cockpit at his starfighter. They had arrived together but had brought two separate starfighters to increase the number of nav beacons they could carry. This place was supposed to be abandoned, but there was always the chance they would need the firepower as well.

Something about the asteroid field creeped him out. It just felt so desolate out here. "This place gives me the creeps," he said, a slight chill running down his spine.

This assignment was certainly different than what a brute like Aspera usually was sent to handle. Dropping beacons in an asteroid field was suspiciously simple. A padawan alongside her for the mission only furthered her worries that she was being set up to 'guide the youth of the order'. That or they secretly expected some form of trouble. Though the ship they let her borrow for said mission begged to differ. The cloakshape fighter was an ancient piece of junk someone had resurrected just for the displeasure of Aspera. It was not quick, it did not have a ton of firepower, and it was uglier than a plague-ridden Hutt.

"Feth no..." she muttered out loud, maybe enough for the comlink to pick it up. She was not going to become some padawan herder.

Aspera largely ignored the comments from the other end at first after her own mutterings. She steered the clunky ship which had been modified to carry more beacons by removing, to her great displeasure again, the missiles. A single missile in the tube was all she had to work with as far as explosives went for this adventure. She was heavily debating between hoping for no opposition or hoping for a lot of opposition to end her life right then.

"Okay, mister creeps, let's drop some beacons. I guess just... sort of spread them out wherever it looks like there's a gap?" She gave the other fighter a quick glance before splitting to the left to find some gaps in the asteroid field. "Half rocks, half scrap out here. Don't hit anything. I don't want to do the paperwork."

The station itself was hard to spot at times as rocks drifted slowly in and out of the field of vision. It would be scavengers or bandits of sorts to use this field as a parking spot. Hit nearby areas, sit in an asteroid makeshift base for a bit, shoot passerby's who get lost or try to explore. A simple enough life for those into that sort of thing. They probably didn't have to fly Cloakshapes eithers.

The comm's did pick up the Jedi Knight's cruses, Jacata growing quiet, interpreting that it was meant for him. There were always Knights like this, ones who had forgotten that they too were Padawans not long ago and considered it the Galaxy's greatest burden to have to work with one. It aggravated him, he could feel it growing in his stomach.

Jacata forced himself to take a breath as he regained control. "Will do," he responded, cutting off the comm channel. "Let's get going A-7, the quicker we can get this done, the sooner we can't get out of here," he said as he started a scan of the asteroid field.

A moment later, his droid chirped, indicating that it had found an opening that looked like it might prove promising. Jacata banked his fighter, and made his way towards the opening, launching a beacon at the entrance.

A loud clunking sound echoed through the fighter as Aspera maneuvered through some debris. Apparently the beacons had not been strapped down too tightly so they just clunked around in the tiny hold. If this were a zombie holo-vid, she might expect the noise to attract some sort of monster but in the reality of space here that wasn't possible. Maybe the Padawan's comment was getting to her a bit that it was actually creepy here.

"Wait, was that movement?" She stammered into her comlink as she thought she saw something in the field. "Damnit, are you making me paranoid now?"

Aspera tried to write it off as her imagination or drifting rocks. A button press released the first beacon in an opening and she pressed on closer to the station. If there was something out here, it wasn't some zombie. She knew it would just be bandits but her mind was wandering into spookier ideas. There was a plague going around that only fueled such stories as well. Enemies or not. that was one beacon down and a good chunk to go. The next potential opening was a bit deeper into the field and closer to where she thought there had been movement.

Probably just a rock...

He deployed a beacon and shot a small asteroid to keep clearing the path. Doubting the old Jedi had much interest in talking, he turned on music as he continued his work.

He raised an eyebrow when the Jedi Knight came back on the commlink. Was she messing with him? He turned the music off, only hearing the noise of the engines as he checked his scans. He didn't see anything, but the metal content in the asteroids was causing some serious interference.

"I don't see anything" he said, but she wouldn't hear anything but garbled static on the channel as they were being jammed. The Force pulled at Jakata as static filled the cockpit. "This isn't good..." he said trailing off.

Contacts started to appear on the sensors as their engines roared to life. "Not good at all." he said as his droid made a worried-sounding series of beeps. The group of pirates, or whoever they were soared towards them.

@Bauren (Didn't see the notification for this, sorry. Should have been manually checking)
