For the most part, I'm going to leave you guys to explore how the site works so you can figure things out on your own and ask questions about things that aren't working/being difficult. The new formatting options created by Bee have been detailed in her big announcement and information thread HERE.
There are a few things that everyone should be aware of, either because it was impossible for me to make happen or because of system differences as well as a couple new polices around new features. Site is best viewed in Chrome and Firefox. IE support will not be offered since IE is terrible. If anyone experiences anything weird with site performance or anything about the site in general please use this thread to bring them to admin attention.
- ALL LINKS WILL NEED TO BE UPDATED
Yes, this is highly annoying, but sadly the way XenForo calls threads is different from vBulletin. That said, it should be easy to find any thread you're looking for since the search function finally works. - The Sub Accounts generated by the sub accounts feature are added to a usergroup called 'Character'. Has the same permissions as every other general user but different designation, since sub accounts are to be used primarily for different characters.
--Feel free to repost character profiles under a Sub Account in there name.
--Sub accounts should be named after the character they are for.
--If you are unable to create Sub Accounts let me know.
--LIMITED TO 5 SUB ACCOUNTS
--If you have multiple accounts that are used for character purposes currently, send me a PM with the account name and I will merge them to your primary account. Nobody will get mad. - Be sure to enable/allow flash as we use it much more extensively now.
--Adblock occasionally has weird reactions with some of the javascript overlays. Just add an exemption if you run that extension and it freaks out. - Thread Prefix styling is an ongoing process so I apologize if some look terrible/weird.
And lastly I want to talk about the skin.
This skin that we're using is truly fluid/reactive. There is no need for a mobile skin as this one scales completely to any device based on a set of predefined device presets worked into the structure. Because of that, the only place where fixed width Beeboxes will be allowed is in the character boards. Using fixed width Beeboxes ANYWHERE ELSE will result in an infraction as it makes the post impossible to view on mobile. That said, you can, of course just use fluid beeboxes everywhere. The Boxes that use width% make not difference to final product, just are slightly more confusing to configure.
We have two iterations of this skin. The default (Aperture) is a fluid skin meant for use on any device. The other option (Aperture -- Fixed) is a fixed width skin meant for use on large displays where it is preferable to the fluid version because it prevents the content box of posts getting too large. Aperture -- Fixed if used on a laptop will look very strange/horrible.
