Lights blinked in front of Byron's eyes. The blue of the console flickered in front of him before his eyes closed and reopened to blink away the confusion. It felt only like a second. Spheres of red drifted in front of him. They rippled as if made of liquid. Blinking, Byron realized quickly with an uncomfortable realization that he wasn't having a strange dream but that he had instead nearly survived a hyperspace mishap.

Looking around, the engineer looked to gather his bearings. He was still inside the cockpit of the Skylark Horizon. "Big..." A cough followed the word before he could finish the sentence. Byron's throat felt dry and he felt nauseous for a moment. Looking down the engineer came to the realization the artificial gravity had been knocked out on his ship. "Big Low, you there?" The voice seemed to echo in the ironically small space of the the blastboat. But after a delay a customary sassy beep and warble followed that brought a moderatly comforting smile to the Jedi Padawan. The subsequent sound of the BG astromech droid securing and moving itself told the man it was getting to work. There was some small comfort in not being alone.

"What the hell happened?" He asked, while brushing the beads in front of his face. But the beads didn't bounce off the back of his hand. Instead they spread against the back of his arm. Looking at them, Byron realized they were drops of blood from his own mouth. The taste of copper still fresh in his mouth. The Binary speak from the astromech droid followed non-the-less and filled him in on the particulars of what could have caused the problem though still provided very little insight to the actual cause. typical[/color[

Pulling himself back into the pilot's chair he could surprisingly see a light freighter within eyesight. Leaning forward immediatly, he knew more than most people how relatively close one had to be to actually see someone with the naked eye. But from the look of it the dynamic class light freighter was listing like his own ship. At least the communications link was active. The two ships must have decelerated out of hyperspace at nearly the same time and narrowly avoided a hyperspace collision. "Hello, this is the Skylark Horizon. Can you respond? Multiple system onboard have been knocked out. Is anyone there?" He needed to find a way to make contact. He hoped nobody was injured on the ship. Come on, say something. For some reason, he just wanted to make sure the people on the other ship were safe, more than himself. Anything. His eyes closed and reached out with the force towards the the light freighter, hoping to find something.

Piloting had never really been Kiara's strong suit. She'd always been able to manage to get to where she needed to go with little to no incident, but then again even the dumbest person out there could punch some coords into a navicomputer. When it came to actually knowing what she was doing or dealing with.. mishaps, well that was another story as showcased by her throbbing skull and the little bit of blood dripping from a small laceration on her arm.

All of these realizations seemed to flood into Kiara's mind at once as she sat up, noticing that she somehow ended up on the floor of the cockpit. Shaking the cobwebs and haze from her head, Kiara lifted herself up to slump back into the pilot's chair.

Link! She shouted to the only other being onboard her ship, a C4T droid. Any idea what in the kriff is going on or what happened?

When she heard no reply, Kiara remembered that she'd powered Link down before she left to give him a full recharge, it had been awhile since the little cat had gotten his batteries juiced properly. Rolling her eyes, Ki started to bring up the event log of the ship to see if it could offer any insight when she heard a voice come over the public com.

Raising an eyebrow, Ki took her first good look out of the cockpit and into the blackness of space and noticed that another ship was floating along with her. A very strange occurrence considering even a couple seconds difference in an unexpected hyperspace drop could result in a massive distance between two ships.

Keeping her guard up for now, suspicion rising in the back of her mind, Ki flipped on her comms.

I hear you, Skylark Horizon, Kiara said, also noticing for the first time that her mouth tasted like metal as she spat out some old, dried blood. Any idea where we are? My navicomputer seems kriffed. It might have been a mistake to admit that to a stranger, for all she knew this Skylark ship was home to a bunch of pirates or criminals and Ki just told them she has no idea where she is and no way to really get back to somewhere she was familiar with. Oh well. What was life if you didn't toss a bit of the benefit out of the doubt at people every once in awhile.

Flipping a few switches, Kiara was able to bring a little bit of life back to her ship, although most of the important travel systems would need time to fully reboot and get back to working order.

You got a real name, Skylark? She asked while rummaging around a drawer and pulling out a small silver flask. Her headache having settled to a dull throb, Ki figured a little bit of Corellian whisky might help take the edge off. I got some liquor and cigarras if your ship is in better shape than mine. Floating around in deepspace alone and waiting for pirates isn't really on my bucket list. How about you?

All things considered, Kiara wasn't afraid of one guy on a ship. She had a blaster and the shape she was in was any indicator, the guy on the Skylark probably wasn't up for fighting even if he was malicious... hopefully.

Hearing the response he allowed himself to feel a sense of relief for a few moments. He checked to see if the navicomputer he had still displayed the arrival coordinates so he could answer the female voice. "Where'd we end up?" A moment's pause before a whirl and a beep came back from BG-L0. "No I don't remember that's why I was-" The droid beeped again indicating she had been joking.

"The Dartibek system I guess."He floated out of his chair a few centimeters but then grabbed his seat harness and stopped himself from drifting any further. They were stuck in space with little to no power. In the darkness his eyes drifted towards the open channel on the dashboard and the sight of the dynamic freighter. The female voice came back over the line, interrupting his thought process. "Uh...Byron Ryker...What's your's?"

It sounded like the woman on the other end was at ease and not in the least bit panicked. "I should be able to maneuver over to you with just thrusters." Making sure to not waste any of their limited resources the next few moments would be the blastboat making its way towards the light freighter. "Extending docking tube." He made sure everything was safe and sealed. The light freighter registered as the Cypher which he finally noticed since she had not introduced herself by the ship name. There was a secure seal and no leak on the other side so at least both ships weren't venting air.
