Hello, everyone! :D My name is Cetra, and I am new to this RP community. I've previously done Star Wars RP forums before, and have experience when it comes to proper roleplay. Now, with my life back on a smooth track, i'm ready to get back into a Galaxy, Far Far Away. I'm here to make friends, make stories, and make memories. I'd greatly appreciate any advice on how to properly start a character suited for this forum, and what paths that available for an interesting story. Thank you, all :D

If you haven't already, I'd recommend giving the site's story a quick read through to get a sense of where we are timeline wise in the Star Wars universe. You'll also find links contained within that which lead to more information and history on the major factions of our timeline. They include the Sith Brotherhood and it's sub-faction, the Sacred Band of Ziost. The Republic and it's sub-faction, the Border Alliance. And, of course, the Jedi, who are a faction unto themselves.

Beyond that, Character Creation and You is a very helpful guide to getting your first character up and running. It is by no means required reading, but I highly recommend it.

Other than that, you're free to let your imagination run wild. We're a pretty laid back bunch here, so don't be afraid to venture questions or ask for help if you are unsure about any aspect of how things work around here.

Welcome man, glad to see someone with such enthusiasm come into the site. Pretty much read everything you've been linked to (not an obligation, but helps a lot) including the Rules and Guidelines. Insofar as characters are concerned, as long as they fit our approved species list, you can RP whatever knocks your proverbial socks off. Same with the story- we have a set overarching synopsis of what Dawn of The Republic should be, however, feel free set up your own story arc within our setting. I've given you pertinent links and stickies. Check your forum in box.

Well, this was a warm welcome :) Thank you, everyone, for the welcome posts, it genuinely makes me feel good. I look forward to getting down to writing up a character, and with Spring Break coming up, I should have plenty of time to do so. I particularly excel, and very much prefer, rolling a Sith, or dark-sider in general, due to the overall freedom that comes with such characters. I feel that, and with personal experience to back this up, Jedi characters usually follow a set guideline of actions deemed responsible and morally good, though i'm sure there are militant jedi on this site who take a bit more freedom with their expressions of "Moral good." With a Sith-like character, I'd have more freedom to decide what courses of action my characters would take, in the realms of, not only strategic offenses, but moral dilemmas as well. If its possible to join the Sith as an acolyte with a starting character, i'd enjoy that, though I understand the reasoning behind not giving such a position to someone who is new to the site.

It is possible to start out as an Acolyte, though you are free to start out as a full Sith (equivalent to a Jedi Knight) if you wish.

Actually, the new revised site rules say that you can start out as a Jedi Knight or Sith Brotherhood Sith (equivalent), since rping training thread is no longer a prerequisite to gaining higher ranks. :)

I have a Sith and an SBZ character, so I'd be happy to help with your character development. Let me know via pm if you want to bounce some ideas for your characters off someone!

Due to unexpected family matters, along with preparations to start a new job (I recently finished the drug test portion), i've had little time to devote to writing, but I will be starting most likely today. I'll go over any rules and regulations that go with character creation, and go from there. Thank you, everyone! :D
