Ask Whispers In The Woods

This was easily the furthest she had traveled from the academy. However, after multiple adventures and missions, the academy considered her ready for more dangerous offworld missions. Of course, she still found herself once again on a backwater planet, this one called Adumar. She was to meet with another padawan at a local sheriff station. Apparently there had been disappearances around the community and at this point they wanted some outside help.

Right away, Zana felt as if she had a lot of eyes on her. She noticed why at once - the planet appeared to be almost exclusively human. Her bright golden eyes and lekku likely caught them by surprise. The padawan kept her thoughts to herself, keeping a low profile as she made her way to the meeting area.

“Ah! You er…must be the Jeedai,” A portly man with a large mustache said as he eyed her lekku, “Wow, do all Jeedai look like you? Fascinating.”

Zana resisted the urge to roll her eyes, “Yes, I’m here to assist with the investigation and no we don't all look alike...”

The man kept staring at the lekku for a moment before clearing his throat, “Right then, there was supposed to be one more of you,” He looked down at an actual clipboard and attached piece of paper, “Looks like he’s late.”

‘Great’, thought Zana. Now she was stuck waiting with the weirdo gawking at her alien features.

[Leon Baudelaire]

Leon sipped an espresso while reading up on the history of the planet he was currently assigned to. He'd attempted to get an ale but for some reason, people his age were considered children in most of the galaxy. He blended in rather seamlessly here. There were humans everywhere and after being on Yavin IV for as long as he had the sheer lack of diversity felt strange. He glanced down at this chrono and nearly spit his drink out. He was late...

The Padawan sprung up and dashed out the door leaving a hand full of republic credits on his table. He wasn't too far from the local sheriff's station, but he was far enough to work up a little sweat as he hustled over. He reached the station and gathered himself a moment before walking through the door.

As he entered the clerk immediately struck him as a creep. Those in the room swung around at his entrance, and instinctively he waved. Leon mentally chastised himself before spotting a young twi'lek carrying a lightsaber on her hip. Relieved to see someone not obviously from this planet he approached.

In Twi"lekki he said, "Hello, I'm sorry to bother you, but are you, Ms. Ari?"

Twi'lekki was strikingly similar to his own dialect and he'd found many more beings in the galaxy spoke it. It made his life way easier than struggling through the blunted archaic sounding Basic.
