While not in the traditional whips, chains, and dungeons sense, I have two Knights who I want to use more often and one way I'd like to do that is to provide a source of character development for Initiates! I'll only be taking one Initiate per character and will be relatively selective. It's not to be mean but to try to get a good pairing to ensure good character development.
To cut to the chase, both links are in my sig so feel free to peruse them at your leisure but I'll give a summation here. Xene is a newly Knighted....Knight who is pretty direct and willing to work with anyone but is a fairly standard Knight who would likely pick a learner or, if assigned, would see it as a challenge and would put his best foot forward. He'd be willing to do anything to help your character learn and would strive to be the perfect master. He'd see you as an equal.
Celtar has some long-term issues but is experienced and capable but would only have a learner assigned and, if assigned a learner, would see it as a burden and would have some disdain for your character at first and would really only teach them to stick it to those who think he is washed up/a has been. He's got plenty to teach but actually getting him to teach it is the issue. If he is Rick, you would definitely be his Morty.
This isn't to say that one character is better than the other, they are just two radically different characters and, if you choose Celtar, realize that his IC disdain/hate is not how I view you or the process in general.
