I feel like a personality section for a character would be unnecessary. The brain as a whole controls our personality; saying this psychology tells us that one's personality always changes everyday once we wake. How could I possibly give a character personality if its constantly going to change depending on environment people around etc.

Like Han Solo you thought he was just a smuggler in the first movie, second movie he gain more personality

A personality section is essential for a good character. It proves that you've already considered the way that the character will act, and react to situations around them. Personalities can and do change over time, but that doesn't remotely mean you can't describe your character's temperament, attitude and demeanor in <100 words, and change it as necessary.

The Han Solo comparison isn't really necessary or sensical, either.

So is your character's personality going to change in the time it takes for you to write out the personality? If not then write down what the personality is at that point of time. And if it is then you're not portraying them properly because no one's personality changes that drastically in that short a period of time that you can't write down a general idea of who they are as a person. I learned that in Psych 101.

You have wasted more time crying over this than the time it would have taken you to write out a personality.

Actually pysh told me people change ever day. For example me in RL one day I might want to kill next day i might want a baby next day I might want to get a job.
The way I`ve seen life in person actually shows why I say this.
If not I`m probably just gonna leave because before the the other admins were not that strict on that rule; it takes the fun away if you know what i mean

This is to be read in the voice of a man high of off weed

Amazing. Everything you just said was wrong. (Insert laughs for SW joke ere). As a psych major what you are describing are desires, not a personality. Sure, over time someone’s personality is fluid and changes but there are certain congruent elements. The personality can change as your character changes. I’ve seen many members successfully navigate a changing character.

do you realize our desires shape or personalities. Soon as we leave the womb we desire something.

I`ll use my realself for example about how my personality changed in a day. One day i got my ass beat the next day I started beating people up.

Like I feel a person`s personality should not affct the roleplay to the extent that it would fall abpart besides it`s not even in the rules but I gotta write 100 word paragraph on personaitly just because my bio doesnt talk about. I feel like if there`s a loop hole you should of fixed it before someone found it

If you're incapable of writing 100 words about your character's actions, reactions, opinions and thoughts on the world around you; the likelihood is your roleplay won't be very satisfying for anyone involved. I might suggest that you use this time as practise.

End of the day this is how we do things, everyone does this. If you think your great expertise of psych prevents you from writing a personality then no one is gonna force you, but neither is your character getting approved without one. Stay or leave, it's your call. It's your loss and not ours.

This is a very large forum, with a very large community surrounding it. If you have the attitude that you won't follow a suggestion or requirement simply because it's not written in stone, you're going to get in a lot of hot water during your tenure here. I would suggest simmering down slightly, enjoying the community for what it is, and respecting that the people that maintain this site, do it out of love for the community and Star Wars itself. Try and show a little bit of respect to the people that donate their free time to giving you something, that you don't even have to pay for. Sites like this turn to havoc when people are allowed to skirt the rules and do as they please; that's why there's pre-requisites and guidelines.

You'll be fine here, just relax and continue on with your profile.

This won't change anything. You've been given the option of doing it, or not participating with an approved character. The choice is yours. You're coming across as spoiled and entitled, and it's not a great first impression. Relax, finish your profile, and then come join in with the RP we all enjoy.

It's literally been a rule for years. It's a rule now, it has always been. Just because you've found ways to skirt it before doesn't mean that was correct. I've been on SWRP for nearly 5 years. Personality has always been on the character sheet template.

A personality is fluid, you can edit your character’s personality as the experiences around it reshape him or her as an individual. There is no rule that says you can’t. What this does is make it clear who your character is and what their goals are as an individual when they start. Those things might shift as they grow, there is nothing wrong with that.
