Looks. Like. Crap.

And not just because those German WW1 soldiers were wearing German WW2 helmets. *hides nervous tic*

I'm with @Kiro on this one, the only good thing DC's cinema division has managed to excrete out with these new Justice League movies is Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

And that is hardly worth more then a "Meh", considering that only two, going on three, films have been released. Hell, I'm just glad this one has color to it, in some spots.

I like this better than the other trailers for the other DC stuff. It's not as overbearing and humorless as Dawn of Justice, it's not as awkwardly campy as Suicide Squad, and at at least it's making attempts at humor, even if they aren't great. I did chuckle at the receptionist thing at the end though, and they seem to at least be trying to make her every bit as assertive as she needs to be, so again, there are positives to take out of this.

The action sequences seem a bit excessive though, with the slow motion and the weird acrobatics, at some points, but really I'm nitpicking because I want this to be really good.

So it probably won't be, because DC love to torture their fans.

That's actually kinda funny, cause to me that line about the secretary was the cringey cheery on top of a bland cake. But you know, to each their own. But to me it just seems like throwing red meat to the audience by going for some really, really, really, low hanging fruit.

Its a comic book movie. Were not exactly going to get comedic genius here, low hanging fruit are kind of par for the course tbh.

I like this trailer. Though.. its set in the 1910's! Did Wonder Woman really start out that far back?

No, superman is the oldest superhero comic and he started out in the 1930's.

Are you only saying that because they don't have the big pointed tip on the end? Because I can assure you that the Germans swapped those out for good ol' fashioned regular helmets in the middle of WW1 once they realized the impracticality of the original ones.

Pre-Lim: German helmets are accurate to WWI

I used to dislike this movie because BvS set an unfortunate precedent and the initial art was abysmal.

This trailer? This trailer is really fucking great. It handles the problems of BvS tonally while introducing a really cool period piece story for Wonder Woman in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Will I still skip this movie? Probably. I know that her characterization in BvS immaculately comes from somewhere so I imagine in this film she will fight as hard as she can (which will be cool), but Steve Trevor will die or be incapable of forming a long relationship with her much in the same vain of Captain America. Unlike Captain America we see her modern day story in advance of her previous one, I personally find it hard to invest in a formative story when I know the conclusion.

To finalize: As I have said to others, I now see this movie as something I skip just out of convenience and NOT out of spite. Which is an improvement.

Wonder Woman was the best part of BvS by far in my opinion. Why? She actually seemed to act like a comic book character. She didn't sit around and brood for 20 minutes at a time, she wasnt altered past recognition to fit into whatever hyper gritty dark husk of a message that the other two were slaves to, she didn't act like the world was so freaking terrible that the only solution was to devolve into angsty monologues about how bad it is for an entire movie. She showed up, took over the scene, wrecked stuff, and left. And guess what? She smiled. Consistently! Its revolutionary!

From the moment she entered in full armor and sword drawn, the movie got better. The tone shifted dramatically. That first lunge, where she screams bloody murder while flying through the air and gearing up to cut Doomsday to pieces, it made me smile so much in the theater. She was legitimately fun to watch. At least better than 8 minutes of two men grunting at each other and rolling around in the floor, then Batman being utterly useless during the fight with Doomsday, and superman being "killed," twice mind you, in such a rushed and odd fashion.

DC needs to figure out that the Dark Knight series, while good, is not a summarize description of the DC universe as a whole. Granted, DC tends to be a shade or two darker than Marvel, but it isn't consistently depressig either. It can be lighthearted as well, and these directors just can't seem to come to grips with that. With Wonderwoman, they have a chance to curb this problem with a new character. Make her funny, make her cool, make her anything except a female batman with a sword. Her first appearance shows hope for that, and her movie seems to have caught onto that sentiment on some level. Hopefully they follow that road all the way, cause we all know DC needs it.

Seriously, DC.

Look at the Flash. Look at Supergirl.
...
Don't look at Arrow.
...
Ahem, THE POINT IS that not all DC comics shit is obnoxiously grimdark and nor should it be because it doesnt work for every character.

Hell, its so done to death it doesnt even work for Batman anymore.

Technically, brooding can work but it can't be the only part of the character. A lot of the best portrayals of Batman show a variety of traits and moods beyond 'constipatingly serious'.
