Royal Palace, Kachirho , Kashyyyk
It had taken then a few hours, but they had finally managed to sneak into the palace, helped off course by the fact that most of the soldiers on duty had been drawn away by the more obvious attack being made by the part of their strike team. The vast majority of it actually, as this part of the operation was being undertaken by just three of them.

With him was another Mandalorian who shared his name, and probably the most important member of their little crew, the Wookiee warrior named Naala. She was the leader of her clan, a clan that had developed more than friendly relations with the mandalorians, and now they were repaying the favor by helping her free her people. He and the other Dax were here for one purpose, to keep any and all bystanders occupied so that she could go about doing her business without any distractions. Kill the Trandoshan chieftain, and claim the throne. It sounded so simple when he thought about it like that.

Pushing the door open, barely enough to peek in, he performed a quick scan of the room before pushing the door wide open. Nodding to his companions, he pulled out his rifle and prepared for a hopefully quick conflict. "Only a few guards, just as we expected. Rau and I will keep them off you, go get that trandoshan scum." He couldn't really give the Wookiee the encouraging smile he wanted to, but seeing her focus he realized he didn't need to. She was completely focused on the task at hand. Smiling behind his helmet, he nodded once more at his mandalorian companion and charged into the room, beginning to take shots at the trandoshan guards littered across the chamber.

Dax had been spit balling the idea of securing the planet for the Mandalorians after the rebels of the alliance hand more or less given up on their own efforts. But he was to busy killing Sith in a bar. So now here he was taking up rear security as they slipped into the palace.

The Watch Captain was please with this however, killing lizards slavers was a nice change of pace from hunting down Sith seemed more like some manner of wizard droids then true Sith. As they slipped in Dax looked around, taking note of the craftsmanship of the Wookies. The giant harry people were perhaps one of the few aliens that he was proud to be fighting with.

As they came to the thrown room, Dax readied his carbine and shifted his jetpack into combat mode. Just in case. "Good, quicker we get this done, the quicker we get into drinking." He said back. The Death Watch leader marched forward. Firing at two guards who were lazily standing around. Catching one in the chest and the other in the shoulder.

Dax picked off another guard as well, shouting and making a great deal of noise so as to draw all the attention towards himself. And for a few moments it worked. Wookiees were big, about as big as they came, but even a Wookiee might slip under the radar if a couple of fully armed and armored Mandalorians ran into a room raining death on you. The guards were taken aback by them, and Naala was able to slip in almost unnoticed as all eyes were on the Mandalorians.

But having all the eyes on them also meant that when the trandoshans, despite being caught off guard, did finally gather their wits about themselves, a great many weapons would also be aimed at them. Specially against Dax, as his screaming had drawn many an eye towards him. And that was the case, Dax had managed to take out a couple of guards before whatever advantage the element of surprise had given them ran out and blaster fire started getting fired back at them. He activated his gryphon boots to whip behind a pillar and getting behind cover.

Blasterfire slammed against the pillar as he tried to catch his breath, pinning him in place. But while he was pinned in place, Rau was still out there, and Naala had managed to sneak her way almost to the throne itself, where the chieftain had now stood up from his seat in reaction to the sudden chaos. He was about to make a run for it, get to safety while his guards dealt with the intruders, but found his way cut off by Naala.

"I claim the right of combat for the throne you wrongfully claim!*" She drew a Ryyk blade from the sling where it had been sheathed on her back and charged the chieftain.

♠ THEME ♠
It had been some time since Silent Badger had been on Kashyyyk. It seemed like a life time ago. Back then he had been a simple marauder and Al'Verde to the meager clan Solus. Now he was a Field Marshal, War Council member and continued to lead the Clan as Al'Verde. He still had the poncho made out of trandoshan skins. How simple he had been back then. For some reason he had kept it but he knew for certain if he came across a camp of the slavers he would not make attire from their flesh. That was one way he knew he had changed over time.

A guard patrol had circled around in the distance. The short range comms had been cut to keep mission status covert. The trandoshans could have picked up on ranged communications. That had meant that when the Field Marshal detected the new information he had been forced to book it to the Dax's location. Two Dax's on one mission, that was a joke in the making.

As his call sign suggested he was a silent killer. Any noise he did make, the living did not hear, none on the enemy side at least. When two guards came around a pillar of the throne room he did not jump down, he simple dropped. The momentum of his fall carried the two throwing knives clenched firmly in either fist into the base of either targets' arteries and severed the vital points between their joints. It made Koil remember the cartilage he chewed on when he ate nuna wings.

The silent take down allowed him to quickly stack against the pillar where the two targets had fallen. His scatterweave layered armor allowing him to practically meld with the shadows. Koil wondered if even his cohorts knew he was there. Only time would tell.

Dax, still pinned behind the pillar, was unable to witness the Trandoshan chieftain's response to Naala. The chieftain grimaced, letting out a low growl as he drew a pistol and started to bring it up towards Naala. But the Wookiee didn't give him the opportunity to take aim, as she dived to the side, and came up to a knee besides a downed trandoshan. She grabbed the reptilian figure with her free hand and flung him through the air straight at the chieftain. She ran in in its wake, slamming into the chieftain as he moved out of the way of the dead bodyguard that had come his way. She slapped the blaster out of his hand as he tried to pull away. She successfully managed to disarm him, but before she could strike a blow he had jumped out of her reach. Even angrier now, he pulled out a vribroblade, and rushed forward to engage the Wookiee.

Meanwhile, Dax pulled out a smoke grenade and tossed it down near his feet. And as the grenade exploded, he activated his jetpack and shot out from behind cover. The smoke and his sudden movement gave him the few moments he needed to get out from behind the pillar. Coming to a hover in the air near the cieling of the crown chamber, he fired off a few more shots to take out two more guards before switching off the jetpack and dropping down to the ground, only reactivating the jetpack for a brief moment just as he was about to hit the ground to land safely.

Continuing to pick off shots against the guards, he started running again, looking for cover in case more guards came rushing in. Only then did he notice Naala, fighting tooth and nail with the trandoshan chieftain.

Koil's crimson eyes behind his helmet looked towards the female wookiee who was fighting the trandoshan chieftan. It was ironic how the two species had so many similarities but were still vastly different. Koil saw a few openings, able to leap into the fray of the two beings and slay the reptilian if he wanted. But just because he could kill the trandoshan leader did not mean he should. This was something that Naala had to do.

Instead of intervening he saw another few trandoshan guards come in to the area with blaster rifles raised. They had heard the ruckus and were now coming to both investigate and reinforce. There were at least three of them, possibly more out of sight but the Echani would not wait.

Grabbing a thermal detonator and with an instinctual action he set it to impact. His throwing arm was not always good but with grenades one did not need to hit the target directly. The five meter blast radius neutralized all of the targets in an immediate display of destruction.

Dax, by now aware of Koil's presence, was begining to think that they had this in the bag, Naala seemed to be holding her own against the trandoshan, and the two Mandalorians should be able to hold off the guards till she finished him off. But then things changed, as more guards came rushing in. Atleast four of them, besides the ones that Koil had seen and engaged, they immediately locked onto Dax and began firing. He rolled otu of the way, but there were just too many guns aimed at him and a bolt slammed into his shoulder.

But it was that hit that probably saved his life as the shot flipped him backwards and the remaining shots flew over off target. Lying on the ground, in pain and in no position to retaliate, he activated his jetpack almost on instinct. He zipped along the floor, feeling the thrust from the jetpack more than heating up his back, but minor burns were a good price to pay for safety. The maneuver bought him a few moments to recover from the pain enough to draw one of his quickdraws and began blindly firing in the direction of the guards. It was little more than covering fire, and allowed him to get up and run behind cover.

He waited there as the guards ran towards him, even as Koil was taking care of the others, and as he heard them behind him he drew on all his will power to ignore the pain as best as he could and raised his still health hand and fired off the flamethrower and began moving backwards, using the flames as cover to move towards the nearest pillars. He was going to try and get to cover, and then think about the next step after that. Oblivious to what Koil was up to, he hoped the other Mandalorian was having better luck than him.

With the explosion desipating there were other hostiles to contend with. Koil checked on the status of his team mates and saw the Vizsla clan member streak across the floor in a rather unvomfortable looking manuever. The War Councilor would remind himself to suggest he get a kama after this fight if he did not already have an thermal under suit.

The four different guards kept advancing on Dax while he backed up. The man was using his flame thrower which deffintly drew the attention of the other trandoshans. Circling around and gaining some altitude the Mandalorian brought up his second quick draw again. The hand had been free from throwing the grande earlier but now had the twin blaster pistols. Koil flanked the trandoshans moving on Dax and pulled the trigger three times on each weapon sending a dozen shots down range and into the exposed backs of the collective four trandoshans.

Dax had started to think that he was a goner when Koil sprang to his rescue, raining down death on the guards from behind. As the last of the trandoshans fell lifeless to the floor, Dax let out a relieved chuckle as his flamethrower spluttered out. Another second or two and he was probably dead. He was going to have to buy the other mandalorian a great many drinks to make up for this.

He was about to fall to the floor in relief as well, but there was till the matter of the chieftain and Naala. Wincing in pain, Dax turned around, his gaze sweeping towards the throne in search of their Wookiee friend. It didn't take too much effort to spot her, locked in brutal combat as she was with the Trandoshan chieftain. She seemed to be sporting a few scrapes and cuts, but seemed to be moving freely and didn't seem to be held down by any major injuries. That was good, but on the other hand the Trandoshan was also seemingly putting up a fair fight, and Dax had almost no idea who was winning. He couldn't interfere, neither could Koil, Naala had made it very clear to them that this fight was hers and hers alone. She had to win on her own, but there was no way that Dax wasn't going to fill the trandoshan full of blaster bolts if he somehow managed to win.

Thankfully, he did not have to worry about that eventuality, as the very next moment something happened and the balance of the duel finally shifted. The trandoshan lunged forward to exploit an opening left by Naala, not realizing that it was a trap. She had baited him, and as he overextended himself she swung her Ryyk blade in a smooth arc and loped his head right off.

As the trandoshan's body fell to the floor, Dac too dropped to the floor in pain and exhaustion. As the Wookiee let out a defiant roar, a laugh escaped Dax's lips. It was done, they had done what they wanted to do. Kashyyyk was free.

Watching the handful of reptilians drop to the ground as smoking corpses he lowered his altitude. Coming to a calm jog he moved to have his back protected by a column again. If more trandoshans came to reinforce he wanted to be ready. The battering sounds of the two large beings continued within full view of the Echani. He had to admit watching the two large beings battle it out was a sight to see. With his background and people, ex people, expressing themselves with hand to hand combat it was intriguing to watch genuine enemies fight. The passion, the resolve and determination all backed each attack.

As he waited he took fresh ammo cartridges and replaced the partially spent ones in both quickdraw blasters. It would turn out that the man would not need them. The wet sound of the wookiee's weapon connection with the Trandoshan's flesh was a familiar one. The thump of his head and following louder collapse of the body it came from reached his ears. Watching the head roll a few meters before staring up towards the ceiling with a dead expression made Koil turn back towards the door. No further reinforcements had come allowing the War Councilor to push off from the cover. A roar from the wookiee came, not even one in shyriiwook. Just a victorious below. "Couldn't have said it better myself."
