THIS RP IS CANCELED

I know I ran World War III down the drain, but thought I would give this another shot. I promise not to rush into anything and make the same mistakes I made last time.

Here is the story: It's the night before D-Day, and planes of the 101st Airborne Division along with the 82nd planes fly over Nazi controlled Normandy to drop paratroopers whose mission is to disable German defenses to make it easier for the ground troops who will be storming the beaches the next day. One plane of 101st gets lost from it's original path after being seperated when the Germans began firing at them with AA guns. The paratroopers had to then jump to avoid being killed. It is then RPed from there.

You can choose your class such as Riflemen, Light Infantry, medic, etc.

These are the classes (only one sniper, engineer, and medic are available. it will be stupid if everyone is running around with sniper rifles and bazookas):
1. Riflemen (Weapon: M1 Garand, you are a basic soldier and your skills are limited to this weapon, you are also good with German Kar98)
2. Light Infantry (Weapon: Thompson, you are a basic soldier and your skills are limited to this weapon, you are also good with German MP40)
3. Heavy Infantry (Weapon: BAR, you are a basic soldier and your skills are limited to this weapon, you are also good with German MP44)
4. Sniper (Weapon: Springfield, you are a sniper and a very good sharpshooter, you are a master of this weapon and you can use the Kar98 as well, but no other weapon)
5. Medic (Weapon: M1A1 Carbine, your skills are limited to the Carbine and you are trained in the medical field, your role is vital to the survival of your allies)
6. Engineer (Weapon: Bazooka, your role is vital to your allies as you can take out tanks and halftracks, but your skill is limited to the bazooka and mines)

All classes may use the Colt sidearms

Use this template for your character:

Name:
Rank: (will be determined after sign ups)
Birthplace:
Class:
Age:
Height:
Weight:

Any suggestions or ideas, let me know.

You are forgetting the fact that many of the Airborne troops were trained to fight specifically with the M1 Carbine, dude.

And I'm with Brandon on this one. WWIII sucked, so I'm skipping out on this thing.

No, many still used M1 Garands.

I really didn't want to use the Carbine, but there wasn't much choice for a weapon for the medic. The Carbine can fold, and the medic is more focused on the platoon's health, so he only keeps the rifle if he is needed as a soldier.

The Carbine's ability to fold was a great thing. With the Carbine's light weight and folding ability, the Airborne troops could carry more ammo and first aid kits. But I won't get into a historical debate or one on the usefulness of the M1 Carbine.

I would join as a sniper if I didn't know this thing was going to crash and burn

I think you should thoroughly research the time period before making such restrictions like "this class can only use these weapons" and such. Call of Duty and other war games do not often include all of the weapons used in the actual war, if the weapons you are implementing are based on such.

P.S. I sound like a hypocrite... >.>

You obviously have no knowledge of WW2, or anything for that matter.

I'll pass.

That, and why is it no one can atleast have a Pistol? Because If a Rifleman or Engineer encounter a single person(If Engineer) or a large group of enemies(Rifleman) then there weapons would be either useless or wasted. Pistols should be in every class, IMMHO.

To all of you: Army Medics in World War II and even today have never had the ability to wield a weapon anyways. They are protected in the world by the Red Cross. Only Navy Corpsman are allowed to carry a weapon.

What are you talking about? Army medics carry rifles. As most ground based military branches, you are a rifleman first.

There is a difference between a Medic and a Combat Medic. Both of them run under fire, yes, but a normal Medic is protected by the Red Cross and because of that, they may not carry a weapon. Normal Medics are actually alot of the time real doctors and by their rules, may not carry a weapon. Combat Medics provide quick first aid and then they will call for a normal medic.
