Per the title, who are some writers you respect, like or admire?

Hell, it can even be people from this forum.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

I like authors who can write a simple story but make it mean so much more spiritually.

Stephanie Meyer. Pretty amazing what a mentally handicapped person is capable of.

Kaeb.

I don't know why anyone would want to read any other work.

Drew Karp. Can't recall a single book of his that had a happy ending, but I enjoyed them and his other works.
I also admire my friend Monica, Endy, Adena and a few others.

I can also tell you who I don't admire as a writer. Brandon Rhea.

Shakespeare. Tolstoy. Proust. Turgenev. Shaw. Joyce. Woolf. Cervantes. Byron.

That's my personal pantheon.

Edgar Rice Burroughs. John Carter is easily the best sci-fi series ever

Orson Scott Card. He's like the Chick-fil-A of the literary world.:CHappy

But in all seriousness I'm going with Pros' answer to this particular question. Just add Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dostoyevsky, Asimov, Tolkien, and Frank Herbert.

Margaret Atwood is my favorite author/writer. T.E. Lawrence is a close second.

Kaeb, Vanity and Gambler are/were amazing writers.

It's funny, I feel like such an insignificant role-player (which is the truth), that I'm sure no one reads my work haha.

Don't think I'd ever say I admire writers. But some authors I like to read are:

Dan Abnett, Brandon Sanderson, George R. R. Martin, John G. Hemry, Paul Stewart, Ian M. Banks.
