WW2 Operation Marita

[Tarranium]

6 April 1941...

The Nazis and Italians invaded Greece after the failure of an Italian invasion months ago...

The British and the Greece are being pushed back....

This was supposed to be a simple negotiation mission for me...

My name shall stay with me instead call me T.A...

I'm from Finland and I was sent here to ask for the help of the Greece and the British against the Soviets...

All I have is my 'Emma', an DP 47 full automatic light machine gun...

I am in dire need of help, I'm stuck in an bunker in the front lines with the Germans pushing through...

I'll repeat this radio proadcast every ten minutes...

''Oh stop messing with the radio and help us!'' The Greece soldier yell.

T.A was stuck in an bunker with an AT gun couple of soldiers and a ton of bogies outside.
''Well Emma it seems that its time to sing once more!''
T.A ran to the 'window' and started shoopting the German infrantry.

 

[Ender]

Sergeant Jager Manheim strolled alongside his halftrack with his MP40 in his hands. So far, there were no contacts...So far. The German sergeant was in command of a small squad of infantry men and was deployed to Greece. They were currently uprooting the resistance in the area. And they had been doing well.

Pvt. Patrick Schroll was following his squad alongside the halftrack. The Private held his Kar 98 rifle close, ready for contact at any moment. The Greeks' had been stubborn in their efforts to resist the inevitable Nazi vicotry, but they had been wiped out before, why not do it again?

Sweat rolled down Schroll's neck. He felt anxious. He almost wanted to squeeze off a round just to relieve the tension building in his stomach. He was no stranger to combat, but it was when there was no combat when Schroll was the most nervous. He felt sorry for the guys stuck in the ovens call Panzers. He was hot enough as it was, he could only imagine how hot it was in those mighty steel beasts.

T.A kept on firing the krauts infrantry.
''Come on just die!''

He saw one of the Panzer IV's taking aim at the.
''Get down!''
*Explosion*

''*Cough* Is everyone o--''
The AT gun got destroyed.
The only thing separating them from those tanks was that damn gun!

''Retreat! We cant hold anymore!''

''Who the hell made you in charge T.A?''

''Look if we dont get out oh here now we die!''

The Greek soldier fought of for a while, then he translatedd the order and they all went to the inner bunker.
The soldier looked at T.A for the next command.

''You did the right thing greasy, now lets wait and hope for air support.''

''What about others?''

''The very moment we get air support or artirrely support we split up and round everyone up and fall back to the city.''
The Greece soldier translated this for the rest.

''Get ready greasys, its going to get hot.

Pvt Schroll heard a loud explosion a little bit west of his current location. Him and the whole squad stopped and looked over towards the explosion. Looks like the time had come.

 

[Tarranium]

''Come on lets get going men!''

''T.A are you sure about this?''

''Ofcourse I am now lets go back to the city.''
As the walked the halls of the underground bunker the suddenly started to hear gun fire from behind them.
''A shit they breached alreade! Come on!''
And so they started running throught the halls to the city.

Schroll and his squad began running towards the outskirts of the city, the halftrack following them. He saw many of the Greeks running into the city loooking for cover. As he ran he heard plane engines, and as he looked up he saw several Stuka dive bombers flying over head.

Schroll got to the nearest cover there was as a Panzer rolled up and aimed at the Greek defences in front of them. The Bunker errupted in a huge explosion, peices of it thrown around like they were tinker toys. His squad reached the bunker and found several Greeks slowlyy bleeding out, screaming in pain and for mercy. Schroll raised his rifle and put one down. Schroll chuckled to himself. "All this effort for a defence to only leave at the first sign of trouble." This may be easier than they had planned.

 

[Tarranium]

''Aw crap.''
They had destroyed the bunker and were now chasing them.
There was a supply truck outside the tunnels, they went in ans started to drive towards the city.

The Greek soldier asked him:
''What now T.A?''

''We go to the city and hope that the Brits arrive soon.''

''Alright.''
Then a high pitch noise started to get stronger and stronger.
''What the hell is th- OH SHIT, ARTILLERYY!!!''

"There they are!" Schroll yelled, pointing at a group of Greeks running into a truck. Scholl raised his rifle and shot at the group. A Greek soldier dropped to the ground, spurting blood from his chest. The truck started to pull away when Schroll heard the '88s roar, slinging their shells into the city. Building collaspsed and bodies fell like rain.

 

[Tarranium]

They got in the truvk and started their get away.
''Driver go to the inner part of the city, we can lay an ambush and wait for reinforcements.''

''Roger that.''

About 20 minutes later....

T.A and the rest made up 21 survivors with full automatic weapons one MG and one sniper.
They had stopped in an opening in the middle of the city and they started doing barricades to make an ambush for the krauts.

The opening itself was an market area with nothing but brokeng stalls and such, they had made an barricade using what ever they found.
''T.A do you think its bullet proof?''
T.A took his Emma and shot a single shot to it, it seemed to stop the bullet halfway throught.
''No good, we need rocks and such otherwise we are just going to die.''

''Roger.''
And so they all started to collect rocks from the ruins of the buildings.

''Do we have any tank killers?''

''No.''

''Damn. Then theres nothing stopping those panzers.''

''T.A could we just capture the tank?''

''How? Its sealed from unwanted visitors. They figured that much back when we stole couple of tanks from those Mussolini fans, tincans compared to those war machines.''

The Greek soldiers moral was down and some of them were even crying, he didnt understand what they were talking about.
''Hey greasy, whats going on with them?''

The Greek soldier pointed at the crying men.
''That guy they shot back there, he was their friend and that guys brother.''

''Well theres nothing to help them from that kind of shock, none of us have lost anyone yet so we have no clue what it feels like.''

At that moment they heard airplanes, they all looked up.
T.A's eyes got wide open.
''Wellingthons! The Brits are here!''

They all cheered as the bombers flew past them dropping bombs to the necks of the Nazis.
''That wont hold 'em off, only slow them down! Now come on lets finish with our barricades and the tank stoppers!''
Now the morale of the men was higher than ever, the British had arrived.

Schroll heard the sounds of bombs whistling to the ground. "Oh shit! INCOMING!!!" he yelled as he dove to cover. He lay in wait as the bombers continued to barrage and harrass the German advance.

Schroll looked up and saw the trademark bullseye of the Brits. He cursed to himself. Schroll sat in cover, watching as an entire squad of Nazi's were blown apart. Soon he heard the sound of his Luftwaffe coming in to retaliate against the bombers. Soon the sky was riddled with bullets and raining lead down on both sides of this cold conflict. Schroll ran for the closest building and took cover, but found himself alone and seperated from his squad.

 

[Ender]

Sergeant Manheim let a burst of fire from his MP40 into the doorway of the building. Then his squad rushed in and the crack of rifle and Machine Pistol fire echoed inside the building. "Haus sicher!" cried his Korporal, House Secure, in English. "We have an overlooking position on the Greeks, Sergeant!"

"Goot, goot! Set up an MG34 here and get a sniper in position in the adjacent building. We must secure the city before the Tommys get here, ja?"

T.A and the rest of the survivors had built themselves somewhat of an bunker, they had tanks traps and a lot of cover for themselves.

Everything they could hear was the aerial battle going on, everyone was scared.
They started hearing some sort of tracks.
T.A just looked in the direction of the noise, soon enough an Panzer IV came around the corner.

''Tank!''

Everyone was hiding from the tank as they had nothing against it, the tank and some krauts came behind it.
They remained hidden as the Germans were looking for them, looks like theres a few Mussolini fans as well.

Suddenly a high pitch noise started and it became stronger and stronger, it was an British bomber falling from the skies.
The downed Wellingthon came crashing down near the Germans and stopping the tank from advancing by blocking its path, it looks like no one died.

''No freaking way''

''Whats the matter T.A? This is our lucky day!''
Some of the Italian troops were on their side of the plane, T.A and the Greeks opened fire...

Josef sat with his MP40,seeing a passing Waffen SS unit pass,guns blazing."Just don't see me....please."

Josef turned as he shot one,running to the British unit he had been with before,as he stops right near,and jumps in the trench.

"Waffen SS are here,and they are ruthless."He said,breathing heavily.

"Youre fine with us."The captain said,smoke patterned on his face.

T.A and the Greek soldiers killed anyone on their sitghs, the Italians didnt stand a chance but the Germans just refused to die without killing at least two men first.

''I need to reload Emma!''
T.A took the huge round DP-47 magazine and replaced it with another.
''Last mag!''
T.A Started blasting away, he stopped firing thou.
He noticed that some of the Nazi's didnt die from their gunshots, he turned his head looking for the shooters.
There they were, the British soldiers had arrived to help them.
[Only if I could message them somehow!]

He noticed a guy running towards them with an MP40. He took aim.
''No'' The Greek soldier said while he grabbed his hand.
''His one of ours, he just has stolen an MP40.''

T.A looked a while and noticed that neither the British or this one shot eachother instead they were allies.
''Well German engineering is the best in the world.''

*Massive explosion*

The Panzer IV broke through the downed plane.
''OH SHIT!!! TAKE COVER!!!''

Schroll was relieved that the German advance was going so well, but he was still alone. He needed to find a unit to tag along with, or better, a scope for his Kar98. Schroll slowly emerged from the building he had been taking cover in and found himself with a group of Greeks not 20 yards from him.

"Shit." he muttered as he ducked behind some wreckage. He peeked over and saw the group was faceing towards a downed British bomber. There must be friendlys over there, cuz why else would they be shooting at a British bomber? Schroll heard a lot of full-auto weapons being fired from the scene. Schroll began to creep along towards the Greek position. He hugged the ground, keeping as low of a profile as possible. He rasied his rifle and slowly chose a target. Unfortunatally the only Greek he could get a clear shot on was only a regular grunt. He had hoped for a Greek "officer", or even better, a British officer.

Schroll decided that what he was given was enough for now, and he slowly squeezed the trigger. The 8x57mm IS round flew through the sky and easily peirced into the Greek's skull. He never even saw it coming.

Josef slid to a stop as he saw a Panzer headed his way."How do you guys take these?"To which the captain responded by throwing grenades.

Josef started to run towards what seemed to be a greek unit,but was blasted down by an explosion."Ah shit..."He said,as a German officer walked towards him,a Mauser C96.


The officer aimed at him as he said."Prepare to die Jew...."

 

[Ender]

"Vorwärts!" Manheim screamed as his unit charged forward into the Greek's lines. "Vorwärts!Vorwärts!Vorwärts!" Forward!Forward!Forward! "Angriff!" Assault! Manheim ran forward, his MP40 blazing, he cut down a Greek MG team. Somewhere to his left was a Panzer lumbering towards a Greek squad. Manheim paid no attention as they closed the gap between them and the Greeks. The British were on their door step.

*Explosion*
The Panzer shot at their barricade cover, half of them were already dead.
[What the hell do we do now?]

The British soldiers seemed to move slowly, too slowly.
[We dont even have a damn radio!]

T.A then found out something bad as well, he had run out of ammo.
[Oh great, and were do I find ammo for a Russian gun?]
He then tied the gun to his side and grabbed a Sten from one of the dead soldiers.

He started firing at the krauts, managing only to found one because this is the first time he has used this weird gun.

Then suddenly out of nowere the Panzer got shot from a rocket launcher.
He started to look around, the British had some AT guns after all.
The Panzer was still unharmed, it turned its cannon at the British and shot.

Schroll smiled when he saw the German's easily killing and dismantling anything the Greeks could use as resistance, in cluding the Greeks' themselves. He looked to his right and saw his squad was only about 30 yards from him. He double checked to make sure nobody saw him, and he got up and ran over to his squad. "Sgt Manheim! Ich bin heir!" ("I am here!").
