Name: Noah Foster

Alias: Bulwark

Faction: The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Height: 5' 10"

Weight: 165 lbs.

Eyes: Green

Hair: Brown

Skin: Pale

Powers: Generation and projection of force fields.

Personality: Noah is known for being reserved and respectful of others. He is a good friend, loyal to the end. Although his generally level-headed and down-to-earth demeanor would not necessarily indicate it, Noah is also an intensely focused and determined person.

History: A drunk driver slammed headfirst into Noah's family's car when he was twelve. His parents and little brother were killed almost immediately, but Noah managed to survive. The authorities couldn't figure out how Noah had escaped the crash without a scratch, but they chalked it up to good fortune and left it at that.

Noah was wracked with guilt after the death of his family. Why had he so cursed to have been left unscathed while his family suffered? A deep depression followed Noah and culminated two and a half years later, when Noah jumped from the roof of a three story building. When Noah opened his eyes after having taken the plunge, he looked around. Again he was left uninjured. Completely mystified, the young man went home and tested his capacity to be hurt. It was then that Noah realized his power.

He hid his ability, rationalizing that it would garner too much attention if he told anyone about it. However, his real reason to avoid using his power was his guilt surrounding his family's death. Noah kept his power to himself for nearly ten years. He watched as the X-Men defended humanity, trying to ally mutantkind with humankind. But Noah knew the truth: humanity was not as good as the X-Men portrayed them to be. His belief in the inherent evil of humankind was fostered by the accident that killed his parents. They were innocent and decent human beings, cut down by another man's evil, and his people, in an attempt to represent him, were defending these savage people.

Disgusted by the X-Men, Noah decided it was time to use his power to do something. No longer could he sit idly by. He sought out and eventually joined the Brotherhood not so much as to protect mutantkind as to oppose the X-Men. Humanity was not worth saving.

Right, this is me sorting out profiles. If your's isn't quoted here, it's fine, in terms of power. History is less important at this stage, because of the new setting. Most of you will need to fiddle with your histories soon though.

UNAPPROVED

NAME: Mikael Toolunva

FACTION: X-Men

AGE: 18

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 5'10

WEIGHT: 145 lbs

EYES: Yellow

HAIR: Black

SKIN: Fair

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Tattoo's encircle his body in the most unusual places, impossible to understand to anybody besides Mikael.

GEAR: His mind.

PERSONALITY: Mikael is a loner. Because of his certain condition he learns things that others should not. He is a soft spoken boy, but his temper is extreme. He is generally kind until angered, and the only way to calm his anger is for Mikael to destroy..

HISTORY: He was born into a family of very loving parents in Atlanta Ga. They did not have a lot of money, but they had enough to make ends meet and sometimes a little extra. His childhood should have been normal, the only notion that it shouldn't have been was his yellow eyes.

Instead, it was ridden with incidents that shocked and horrified his parents. As a young boy, whenever he became angry the house would shake, and all the metal products in his vicinity were deformed. He also discovered that he could hear what other people thought. Voices told him of secret plots and motives. And, if he tried really hard, he found out that he could actually make people do what he wanted them to do, mentally and physically.

His parents, confused and scared, didn't know what to do with their son. His fits of anger were devastating to the house, not too mention their sanity. And that is when a representative from Xavier showed up at his door right when he was enraged. The representative managed to calm Mikael down, and then convince him and his parents that Xavier institute was the right place for him to be. He left his house when he was 8 years old. He hasn't seen his parents since.

The Xavier Institute did many things for him, but they could not stop him from scaring his body with tattoo's that only he could understand. And now, if he even wants to approach someone to talk, they are so shocked by his appearance that they don't speak to him at all.......

Clarify exactly what his power is for me?

Character Template

NAME: Hypercharge (Terrence Calligan)

FACTION: The Fraternity

AGE: 26

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 6'0

WEIGHT: 148 lbs

EYES: Brown

HAIR: Brown

SKIN: Caucasian

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: None

GEAR: Hypercharge wears a long black jacket, black pants, and a white shirt. He also wears black boots. Despite his powers, Hypercharge also carries two .22 caliber pistols. When he uses them, Hypercharge briefly charges his pistols with neutron radiation so that the bullets become radioactive, making them more deadly.

POWERS: Bio-Radioactivity - Hypercharge can biologically generate any sort of radiation along electromagnetic spectrum, including gamma, thermal, neutron, and nuclear. Hypercharge can also absorb radiation, and change his perception to view electromagnetic wavelengths, such as infrared, ultraviolet and x-ray, to give him different "sights", including night vision, thermographic vision, and heat tracing. Hypercharge can also intercept radio wavelengths, allowing him to hear electronic messages. When Hypercharge uses his powers, an aura covers his body, and he is capable of transonic flight. Hypercharge is immune to heat and radiation, and is able to use his body as a radiation source, and convert other forms of energy, such as electricity or exotic energy, into radiation, similar to how a lightbulb can convert energy (electricity) into radiation (light or heat). Although toleratable, this transition is painful, and Hypercharge only converts energy as a last line of defense.

PERSONALITY: Hypercharge is a sarcastic person with his own dry wit. Arrogant and cocky, Hypercharge believes that Homo Superiors should be the sole sentient inheritors of the Earth, and hates Homo Sapiens (he often calles "lesser beings"). Despite his faults, Hypercharge is an intelligent strategist and tactician, and is very perceptive.

HISTORY: Hypercharge once went by Terrence Calligan, a young boy living in the USSR. Where Terrence was raised, humans and mutants lived together without oppression, for the most part, at least. Terrence's own father was a prominent member of a mutant organization known for "fighting against oppression and tyranny", called the X-Men. From a young age, Terrence's father attempted to force his own ideals into his son. Terrence followed his father until he turned nine, and his sister was attacked by a small group of humans that infiltrated the USSR. Known as the "Purifiers", these humans likened themselves to a "force for freedom against the mutant oppressors".

After beating her, Terrence's father attempted to reason with the Purifiers. Terrence witnessed the situation, and became emotionally confused. Slowly, Terrence began changing his views of humans. One day, when Terrence was thirteen, his house was set on fire. Although other humans did their best to aid, Terrence's distrust of humans grew, and several months later, he left the USSR. During his time alone, outside the USSR and the protection of the X-Men, Terrence saw the humans for what he believed they really were - vermin.

Several years later, Terrence had joined The Fraternity, taking up the moniker Hypercharge. There, Hypercharge's powers matured greatly, and he eventually became a prominent member in an effort to save mutantkind.

He seems very very well stocked in terms of power. Maybe consider cutting it down to radiation manipulation in a nuclear sense? The whole sight thing can be put down to that, but I think flight and energy conversion is taking it a little too far.

NAME: Hillary Grant (Shade)

FACTION: Unaffiliated -- Loner

AGE: 28

GENDER: Female

HEIGHT: 5'7"

WEIGHT: 119 lbs

EYES: Blue

HAIR: Black

SKIN: Caucasian -- Tan

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Tattoo on left shoulder of a phoenix, her alter ego (Shade) written in Russian down her spine

GEAR: Various street clothes often found in different outfits, 14" asp on her hip

POWERS: Teleportation, blending in with shadows (invisibility within them), ability to make images in dark places, acrobatic, and skilled in martial arts.

PERSONALITY: A dark person Hillary has a strong hate for regular humans, having joy in scaring them. She does not hate fellow mutants, but is known to get into scuffles with them if they go against her opinion or idea. She can be a great ally or a persons worst enemy depending on how the person treats her.

HISTORY: Hillary was abandoned as a child for reasons unknown, she believes it was simply because her mother caught on to her being mutant. This abandonment brought her to the Xavier Institute for Gifted Children where she got her training in some of her abilities. It wouldn't be long before she abandoned the school though to do her own thing. It was then that she became in contact with the real world, learning of how the humans treated mutants and growing to hate them even more.

Power wise, I think it would be better if teleportation was linked to shadow. As in, she can only teleport to and from shadows.

Name: Aaseren Sabuto
Alias: The Revenant
Faction: The X-Men

Age: 24
Gender: Female
Height: 5'2''
Weight: 115 pounds
Eyes: Chocolate brown
Hair: Electric black
Skin: Caucasian - pale
Distinguishing marks: Mole on left cheek, usually wears grandiose clothing.

Gear: Clothing, Rubik's Cube, cigarette case, butane lighter.

Powers: Seemingly divine mystical enhancements granting virtual omnipotence, actually the result of severe genetic mutation to Aaseren's brain. Consequently Aaseren's mutation has severely shortened her lifespan and makes her appear chronically sick.

Personality: A strict pacifist, Aaseren never openly engages in physical confrontations. Only when faced with the choice of fighting or death would she break her vow. Aaseren feels great responsibility from her powers which often causes her to take the "mother" role when she's in a group. Despite her usual irenic nature, Aaseren does not tolerate the harming of innocents in any way, shape, or form. If she is present, Aaseren will do all in her power to protect innocent people. Consequently this trait is one of her greatest faults as it gets her into much trouble.

History: Born to rich parents in New York City, Aaseren had a normal childhood despite her mutant powers. Even from a young age, Aaseren has had almost total control of her powers and her "gift", as her parents put it, was nurtured by her parents. She was homeschooled due to the fact that for almost all of her childhood life Aseren was seemingly deathly ill, which, unknown to her parents, was a side effect of her mutant powers. Growing up into a quote unquote normal adult, Aaseren left her home when she was nineteen to pursue her own ends. She found her way to the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning and is currently employed there as a teacher to students who have yet to master their mutant powers.

I'm going to PM you shortly, and we'll discuss what's happening with her. Kay?

Hoping for approval

NAME: Trez/Zato

FACTION: unknown

AGE: 25

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 5'11"

WEIGHT: 150lbs

EYES: Black, lack a pupil.

HAIR: Blonde

SKIN: Pale caucasian

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Scars on his face, around his eye area

GEAR: His clothing, money.

POWERS: His "shadow" has become almost its own entity. And it allows him many powers. He can merge it with his body to allow it to take slightly different forms, and allow for things like temporary flight, and to change shape. Allows for silence and very fast moving. He can also morph it in order to use certain types of attacks, finally, it can separate from him, but only for a limited time, and very limited distance and can be turned into things like a giant saw blade, or a drill.

Weaknesses: He is blind, every time he uses his power for anything except the short distance attacks, it weakens and ruins his body. Causing it to deteriorate. Also, since his "shadow" is sentient it sometimes will refuse to do what Trez wants it to, resulting in his powers ceasing to work. Also it will sometimes act on its own desire, regardless of what Trez wills it to do.

PERSONALITY: Trez is lazy, self serving, and uncaring. He is also egotistical, and extremely rude to those that he finds to be inferior to himself. Zato is cruel, and insane but also seems to share many of the characteristics of Trez. Neither has a preference for either humans or mutants.

HISTORY:
Trez was born into a normal family in the North Eastern part of the U.S. The only thing noted different for him was that he was blind, and seemed very unwilling to open his eye. As he grew only slightly older his eyes turned completely black. While this worried his parents and doctors, it seemed like nothing could be done about it. It also seemed to not really be causing him any problems. As he grew, he constantly heard a voice in his head, that would warn him when he was going to bump into something, or if somethign was going to collide into him. He usually ignored it, but then found that it was always right.

This contnued as it was until he was about the age of fifteen, when the vice that talked to him finally decided to take some sort of form. This was when he was being bullied by a group of kids who made fun of him for his blindness. hey forced him into an alley and started ot beat him up, he took it for a while, and then grew extremely angry. He yelled, and a drill came up under one of the bullies, who died very quickly. The other one started to flee, but Tres flew in fron of him, grabbed him. His hands then grew small claws, and h ripped the boys adam's apple out.

The voice then talked to him, and tauht him how to use this newfound power. Obviously though, the first course of action, would be to run from the area. He was found by some that would consider themselves underworld types, and they learned of his power. They might have considered him a freak, but they found him to be a useful freak. It turned otu that he was very good at removing people who would oppose them, and leaving fairly close to no evidence. They taught him the tricks of an assasin, and he became very deadly. Other things he learned during these times though were, he seemed either to heal ver slowly from wounds that he recieved, or not at all. He also realised that no matter how god of shape he tried to keep his body in, he kept getting weaker.

He quickly figured out that he weakness was being caused by the very shadow that gave him his power. He knew that its main location was in his eyes, so in an attempt to help him preserve his life, he tried to stab out his eyes. He failed at doing this, and the shadow threatened to kill him if he tried it again. This lead to animosity between the two, and made them quite a bit less efficient at fighting.

The shadow "Zato" believes that it could possibly take over another body if it needed to, and it coudl possibly even keep Trez working, even if Trez died. It might even be easier as it would be able to transform the body much more easily.

To temporarily keep himself alive longer, Tres searched for a way to slow or even reverse the effects of the deterioration. He found that consuming human flesh slowed down the process, but that noting could stop it.

This is very strange... his shadow is it' own entity, but he can control it? I don't know how attached you are to this plot element, but maybe consider removing it for the sake of simplicity? Insane/split personality characters are unduly complicated, overused and hard to RP well.

NAME: Jabin Rosario

FACTION: X-men

AGE: 21

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 6'4''

WEIGHT: 16st

EYES: blue iris, black sclera

HAIR: black

SKIN: hispanic-caucasian

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: his eyes

GEAR: His clothes, a long, ornate knife.

POWERS: The extrasensory ability to perceive the stress points, fracture planes, or weaknesses, in all objects or persons around him. By striking and applying pressure at these points, he can split or shatter objects made of seemingly invincible substances or render insensate beings of far greater strength than he.

PERSONALITY: Jabin carries a sense of arrogance with him, however not on purpose. This comes from the ability to see everyone's weaknesses.

HISTORY: Jabin was born in the Spanish town of Valladolid. Fortunately, his parents were tolerant people, and Jabin lived a happy life until the age of two.

Then the government stepped in.

Jabin was taken from his family, and indoctrinated to 'El instituto de Piedra', the Spanish government's school for mutants, moulding them into operatives for the Spanish government. It was more a prison than a school, guards sweeping constantly for any signs of escape. Jabin was seen as incredibley valuable, thanks to his ability to perceive weaknesses. He had intensive training in Hand-to-hand fighting and strategy. He was placed straight att he head of a team from his graduation at sixteen. He was involved in multiple covert actions for Spain.

On his travels, he had heard of the Xavier institute, a far less opressing school for mutants, where his talents could flourish. He could even pursue his passion, war studies. Strategems had always interested Jabin from a young age, and he saw war studies as 'history with the boring bits taken out'.

His daring escape came years later. It took Jabin a long time to find weaknesses in the structure of el instituto. Fortunately, a new guard rotation was hurried onto the scene, and they were not properly trained. Jabin used their inexperience to remove them, escaping into the night.

For months, he had to lay low, avoiding 'sniffers', mutants who could sense the presence of their bretheren. Eventually, he broke to Portugal, and from there, the land of opportunity.

((Awaiting approval))

Hi me! So, what is his power exactly? He can see shatterpoints and he's a hard man?

But then he would be too strong. He only can try to will the shadow thing to do what he wants it to do. Whether it does or not is completely up to him. I also feel confident in my ability to rp this character. Ill take it out if you think it will cause problems for others... but I think that, at least on my end, I should be able to take care of it.

Power wise, I think it would be better if teleportation was linked to shadow. As in, she can only teleport to and from shadows.

Was doing it as a Nightcrawler type character, can only teleport to area's she can see, its really her only power aside from knowing martial arts, let me know.

The making images in shadows by the way would in essence be a quick glimpse as if someone ran by as a distraction technique.

Then nightcrawler was invisible when he was in a shadow, I can exclude that power if you think its a bit over powering.

I honestly don't think he would be. Not having control of his power makes him underpowered tbh. I genuinely think this will be more fun for you if you don't have to rp your character fighting himself every time he wants to do anything worthwhile. If you really want to keep this plot element, then go for it.

Being invisible in shadow is absolutely fine. And my issues weren't really in terms of power with your character, more style. I just thought it would be more fitting if her teleportation was linked into shadows, like the rest of her power.

That is, I just thought it would make for a cooler moment to have her flitting invisibly from shadow to shadow. The teleportation seems like a bit of an add on otherwise, was all.

Is my character alright?

Like I said, if I haven't brought up anything in this thread, he's fine in terms of power. You do need to play with your history to make it fit in terms of the new setting.
