Figured I ought to have my own little nook for the unmentionables and whatnot. First entry is my WIP character profile (which is mainly still a WIP because I refuse to use this guy without his bowcaster... which has yet to be approved).

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked - Cage the Elephant
Shevla Fett
[fancybox4="http://imgur.com/N3z0zX"]
NAME: Shevla Fett
FACTION: Independent
RANK: N/A
CLASS: Bounty Hunter
HOMEWORLD: Concord Dawn
FORCE-SENSITIVE: No

SPECIES: Human
GENDER: Male
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
AGE: 27
HEIGHT: 1.85 m
WEIGHT: 71 kg

HAIR: Brown
EYES: Dull Blue
SKIN: Fair-skinned

Shevla has straight, tousled brown hair that hangs around his neck with long bangs swept to either side of his narrow, tired blue eyes; a very light goatee around his chin and mouth, and a scruffy stubble; and a pale tan complexion. He has a few inches on most humans, and his boots add to that as well, putting him at somewhat of an intimidating height but is by no means overly tall.

More often than not garbed in his customized Mandalorian CCT armor, stolen from the corpse of a Mandalorian Crusader and retrofitted for sizing, with scarf and kama attachments. His casual get-up consists of a black half-jacket, pale gray trousers, and tall dark boots along with a drab shirt. Of course even though he dubs this his “casuals,” he’ll wear a small combat vest over his most vital organs alongside kneepads and his ever-present blaster pistol.
He is an excellent hunter having spent most of his youth in forests tracking for food, and his adult life tracking down criminals. Being on the hunt requires intense patience and ruthless quick-thinking, which is something Shevla has certainly mastered alongside his usage of a bowcaster and vibroknives.

Physically, Shevla is above average strength and stamina but relies more on stealth, ingenuity, and speed than over-powering an opponent, thus he is of a slighter build than his stocky brother and not particularly physically imposing. Having grown up without many technologies a large portion of the galaxy considers commonplace, namely medical, Shevla built up a strong immune system and is rarely sick. However, his strongest attribute would have to be dexterity. Shevla’s finesse with a blade and dead-shot accuracy with a blaster are a wonder to behold.

Though, when it comes to intelligence Shevla has nothing to write home about. Marginally home-schooled, self-taught street smarts from dealings with the Cartel and other ne’er-do-wells, and his older brother’s lessons on life and military training (which Ambu received during his tenure with the Border Alliance, then taught to his baby brother) are the extent of Shevla’s schooling. This isn’t to say he’s dumb so much as he may be ignorant of galactic dealings, politics, and so on. But his intuition more than makes up for this, often proving capable of discerning a man’s character on the slightest of observations, as well as picking up on a variety of tech’s usage and capabilities after little more than a few test runs.

Shevla is inherently distrustful from growing up with an abusive childhood and relying on purely his older brother for emotional support. As such, he has a difficult time connecting with anyone, socially or otherwise, and prefers to remain distant and quiet. He's grown so accustomed to rarely speaking that he'll sometimes go out of his way to use hand gestures or write something down instead of using his mouth without realizing it. However, Shevla can turn into quite the chatterbox around his big brother, droids, and self when alone. It's not uncommon for him to go on monologues and rants within the confines of his ship or when his helmet mic is deactivated.

Shevla took on a lot of his brother’s errant ideas including his backwards view on society, sharing the belief that everyone else is either weak, stupid, or scum – maybe all three. Because of this his default mode is sarcasm or disinterest; a tendency that normally outcasts him from others, though some find his uncanny nature and off-beat sarcastic quips amusing.

Having grown up around numerous unsavory individuals, Shevla developed a keen sense of intuition for identifying trustworthy people or, as he puts it, telling the difference between “idiots and alright folks.” But his deep attachment to Ambu handicaps this ability since he will usually defer to his big brother’s lead, even if the people they’re dealing with are “idiots.” Despite his rather strict judgement of others, Shevla has numerous flaws that go against his own creed, like sometimes being rather volatile—though never as much as Ambu, or heaven’s forbid his father—and is sort of a pathological liar, preferring to ‘keep things simple’ through white lies especially when it comes to personal details. Even with these flaws, Shevla does not believe himself a hypocrite as 1) he never claims to have the moral high-ground and 2) he governs himself by the same judgement standards, something he’s never been able to hold himself to well but, with the pressure for credits from Nor'Baal the Hutt, finds himself doing even worse than usual—something that causes a deep sense of self-loathing.

He also greatly enjoys hunts—preferably for wild game, not people—and preparing food. Though it’s a great deal of trial and error, Shevla takes heart in finding new ways to cook mud snakes and mixing tea with various herbs. Though his occupation is his life, something he detests, Shevla longs for simplicity, living off the wild and being self-sufficient without the need for anyone. A desire he picked up from living on Concord Dawn, dismal though his stay there was. Even so, Shevla recognizes his dream world isn’t the most healthy of mentalities yet he can’t help but crave a safe haven all his own.

ANCESTRY

Shevla’s ancestors were some of the few from the remnants of House Fett to vanish from the blood-soaked limelight of their collapse on Mandalore and settle on Concord Dawn. A new way of life shying away from war was established south of Valfeng’s dried up mines, one of farming and agriculture in accordance with the other estranged Mandalorians and Concordians in the area. The first generation’s children had difficulty acclimating to their new life-style but the children’s children even more so. Rumors of House Fett’s legendary exploits being settled for digging in the dirt failed to sit right with them; and the few Fetts of Concord Dawn dwindled even further as a divide was created, separating the clan in two. Those splitting off adopted the surname 'Vhett' and returned to Mandalore. Those who remained were either content with their rural lives or altogether ignorant of the past, effectively ensuring future generations as nothing more than backwater farmers.

EARLY LIFE

One of the latest generations of Concordian Fetts were the children of [blank], Ambu and his little brother Shevla. While basic Mando culture still existed in the Fett Clan, such as warrior pragmatism coupled with Concord Dawn’s simple self-sufficiency, Shevla’s father was more inclined to on-off work between fields and mines, or enjoy a violent drinking session directed towards his children than teach his sons Mando-Concordian culture. Adopting a policy of concealment and evasion from an early age, Shevla and Ambu would often do whatever possible to escape their negligent and abusive alcoholic father by getting lost in the woods, exploring closed-perilous mines, or stealing from other degenerates and backwater Mandalorians—though the latter was usually Ambu, resulting in his typical confinement courtesy of the CD Marshal Service, provided those being robbed didn’t take matters into their own hands. During Ambu’s borderline-regular stays with the Marshals, Shevla was left to fend for himself against their father.

LEAVING HOME

The mental and physical abuse grew to be too much one day causing Ambu to abandon his clan and join the Border Alliance guard; though he claims to have never known the extent of abuse Shevla suffered as his reason for leaving. Later, Shevla was exiled from Concord Dawn for blasting his father to near-death and became a waste-of-skin vagabond until eventually reconnecting with Ambu who was now running with a group of freelancers—supposedly Sith-aligned Mandalorian Crusaders. Shevla never got along with the renegade soldiers-for-hire, especially when they fouled Ambu, and came to blows on several occasions. Through uncanny fate, the band came across a member of the newly established Mandalorian Clan Vhett. The Crusaders were fully aware that Vhetts were merely a splinter of their sworn enemies, House Fett; and murdered the Mandalorian. The brothers had since been going by purely their first names but, after hearing of the blood feud between Fett/Vhetts and Crusaders, Ambu and Shevla plotted their 'departure' from the freelancers. After coming to near completion of a weapons deal in Sith Space, Ambu and Shevla betrayed the freelance crusaders--stealing their ships and gear--then collected the mission’s reward for themselves.

Selling off the stolen excess from the dead freelancers, Shevla and Ambu had the tech and credits to afford living on their own and even make a name for themselves through bounty hunting, smuggling, spice trading, etc.—as long as Ambu gave it the okay, Shevla followed. The brothers’ reputation eventually earned them a co-contract mission with another group for a mercenary gig on Dandoran. However, the job went more than awry after the other group attacked the wrong target. A Hutt’s refinery plant was blown to bits after the group revealed themselves to be members of the same Crusader clan the Fett brothers had killed in the past, now out for revenge. They abandoned Ambu to enemy forces while pinning the destruction of Hutt Cartel property on Shevla. With his big brother assumed dead, Shevla was imprisoned and shipped off for execution to Nor'baal Desajilic, cartel member in charge of the refinery, but was instead given freedom in exchange for paying off the massive debt incurred from the facility’s destruction—something considered unpayable in the Fett’s lifetime. To worsen matters, a credit-minimum had to be attained by Shevla through whatever means necessary every cycle or else the Hutt would cut its losses by cutting apart Shevla; in the meantime, though, Nor'baal has a debt-slave with exceptional combat and hunting skills who, if lucky, may just pay off the facility’s collateral before he dies of old age. But that’s without factoring in ludicrous interest, which happens to be the Hutt’s favorite pastime.

PRESENT

Under the ever-increasing threat of painful death from the Cartel, Shevla begun to take darker jobs that even Ambu would have balked at--if alive--while still searching for any evidence of his lost older brother’s fate…

5

Maneuverability: The DRV-12's independent exterior engine mounts were designed to provide maximum maneuverability for a ship it's size. That being said, it is still a good deal south of any serious fighter.

Acquisition:
After Century Engineering--original designers of the DRV-12--filed bankruptcy, a forced and desperate act brought on by the machinations of Czerka, many of them departed to other corporations. CE's COO and a small group of designers were not as lucky being forced into Czerka's supervision for continual edits of the much desired DRV. The former CE staff plotted amongst each other to enact their revenge, opting with hiring a band a mercenaries to act as pirates and besiege the station.

The plan was for the mercenaries to wave their guns around, intimate the Czerka management on site, steal all files on the DRV, then recover the patrol craft so the former CE members could recover it later on. That isn't what happened. When the mercenaries finally arrived, their employers watched in horror as a team of Mandalorian Crusaders slaughtered their way in. They trashed the computers, executed the station manager. The former COO of Century Engineering tried to stand up to the Mandalorians as their employer and attempted to salvage the situation before more lives (and data) was lost. One of the mercenaries, a man named Ambu, convinced the COO he would keep them safe if they disabled the DRVs' passcodes. The staff members cooperated and were about to be smuggled within one of the Patrol Craft when another Mandalorian gunned down everyone but the COO, proceeded to claim the credit reward, then blast the COO, as well. The Crusader and Ambu had laughed about the ordeal over a couple of drinks afterward.

Shevla Fett later joined this same group of mercenaries to link up with Ambu and retained ownership of the vessel after his brother's supposed death. Aside from the Ion cannon replacement and fire-linked side turrets, the patrol craft's capabilities remain stock. The interior on the other hand has been heavily modified for bounty hunting, such as the retrofitted prisoner cells. Ambu had performed most of the modifications, repairs, and piloting with a few token lessons given to his baby brother but once the vessel was claimed by solely Shevla, he'd had to learn fast--a sink or swim moment, per se. Unfortunately, Shevla nearly "drowned" his first attempts at solo-flying. While his piloting skills have since increased to proficient, Shevla acquired a maintenance droid--"Sal"-- to do most of the repair work. Eventually, Shevla decided to go against the memory of his older brother and change the starship's name as he didn't possess Ambu's gift of gab when it came to explaining the name; Shevla also had the ship detailed with a matte black paint for added measure. But, long story short, the Deepthroat became the Basilisk.

Custom Mandalorian CCT Armor

After betraying the Mandalorian Crusaders, Shevla adopted one of their suits and later tailored it to his own size and preferences. Bracer Attachments:
Left-
  • Flamethrower
  • Wrist-rocket launcher (x2 missiles)
Right-

Other Customization:
  • Fiberweave scarf/kama: blade resistant, flame resistant, 1 blaster hit/ section
  • Plates specially coated with Scatterweave for added stealth
  • Cortosis lined helmet and gauntlets
  • Motion sensor
  • Auditory frequency modulator

MK3 Light Drone
The modular drone has been equipped with simple AI software for independent mobility, basic commands, and data transmissions but otherwise remains stock. The MK3's modular rail system is in constant flux depending on whatever situation its owner prepares for but is typically fashioned with a heavy blaster pistol mount, long-range sensors, and a cargo clamp. When brought along on missions, Shevla houses the drone across his back plate until sending it out.

CC-4L Service Droid
One of many CC-model droids retained by the Cartel after most were appropriated by various groups. This particular unit was gifted to Shevla by his debt-holder/patreon, Nor'Baal Desajilic, to act as ship security and to spy on the bounty hunter. However, the covert programming was quickly discovered and replaced into a mouse droid on Tatooine. Shevla and "Sal" have enjoyed each other's company ever since, says Shevla.

Alright, @Nor'baal. Linked you over here so I wasn't cluttering anything up.

So, basically. I want Shevla to be your slave... Ahem. Let me try again. I'm looking to establish a relationship between my character and yours, akin to a hybrid of Han Solo/Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. Shevla would for the most part work on his own with a significant portion of his earnings being sent to your Hutt in order to pay off a debt incurred via blowing up one of the Hutt's facilities (it was an accident though, scout's honor). I don't have an exact number for this debt, but its big enough he more than likely won't ever pay it off unless something crazy happens.

Occassionally, Nor'baal the Hutt could "casually ask" Shevla to take care of something--really any sort of dirty/dangerous work like smuggling, assassinations, protection, etc.; but his greatest talents lie in bounty hunting, live retrievals--and this casual ask would translate to a direct order because Shevla can't really say no to his debt-holder.

It would also be great it we could set-up this relationship since I'm still relatively new to the site, and RPing. But if your Hutt ever needed something particular done, that could be a leeway in for me, you know?

Not that it ought to matter (unless it does) but the unspecified facility of the Hutt that got blown to smithereens was on Dandoran. Not sure if you've done business there or not, or if that'd foul up any plans of yours, but mentioning it just in case here.

My Hutt is actually quite a small player on the crime scene - so it could always have been a family asset?

Perhaps. Maybe that's why he didn't outright feed Shevla to some gnarly creature - wrecked place wasn't his place, not exactly.
