The Imperials had superior firepower, superior numbers, and superior technology on their side. But one thing they did not have was knowledge of the land. Not like the Yavin Yellowjackets.

The Yavin Yellowjackets were the only defense force that the nearby settlement of Wetyin's Colony had. And while Wetyin's Colony had a healthy relationship with the Jedi Temple, they were separate from them and it was their hope that if the battle was contained to the Temple itself, their village might be left alone. So the Yellowjackets had been sent out to keep it contained. It was a narrow hope but still the order was given; any Imperials coming too close to Wetyin's Colony were to be blasted at with impunity.

Which is why Telly Udon, former captain of the Rebel Alliance and now just a captain of this ragtag militia on Yavin IV, sat hidden in the growth of the dense jungle that made up his new homeworld. At a ripe 418 years old, Telly was old enough to start to feel his joints aching from kneeling for this long but young enough to press through the pain in anticipation of battle. He and two other Yavin Yellowjackets had already made their first kills of the day - an Imperial sniper and his spotter that had wandered through this jungle path, no doubt trying to set up a strategic position on a nearby ridge that overlooked the Jedi Temple. Their bodies were safely stored away in the jungle growth so that anyone else that came stumbling through this path would see nothing amiss. Telly could hear the sounds of laserfire and explosions in the distance as the battle winded down, the Sith hunting any stragglers that didn't manage to make it out in the initial evacuation.

"There, there chaps! No dozing off now! I know planetary invasions can be tedious things but let's try and stay sharp." Telly said to the men hidden in the jungle with him, doing his best to keep their spirits up, even as their homeworld was being invaded.

Godric hadn't ever really been on Yavin IV before.

As a Shadow, he had been trained away from the majority of the Order in case his missions had ever demanded that he need to hide from them - that he needed to convince them that he was actually part of the enemy. Either as a Sith or as someone else who was Very Clearly Not A Jedi. He had been working with a face for awhile now as a member of a crime syndicate but he had heard about the attack on Yavin IV.

He'd felt it through the Force.

His arrival was, unfortunately, delayed while he received the necessary surgery to no longer look like the criminal version of himself. Instead, he coloured his hair, attached a convincing patch of stubble and descended to the planet aboard a ship he had stolen. To make his entrance to the planet slightly less visible to Imperial sensors, he gunned the engines at the edge of the system and then cut all power, floating at the planet like a piece of debris.

It galled him to know he had fit in with the rest of the debris.

Hiding the ship he had come in was a matter of camouflage against both visual and scanners... he parked the small shuttle in a cave. Stepping through the undergrowth, Godric started to make his way toward the village that bordered the Jedi grounds - records said it was called Wetyin (or something similar) but he didn't know for sure. Wandering through the undergrowth, he stopped in the middle of slightly more worn path.

He breathed out through his nose before picking a direction - away from the Temple.

Away from the Darkness and toward what he hoped was the colony.

"Lookee here boys! I told you we'd catch a bird soon enough!" Telly said as he and his Yellowjackets came crashing out of the thicket, guns drawn. Godric would see before him a roguish-looking human armed with a vibrosword, and a massive Trandoshan carrying a wicked-looking blaster rifle that looked like it had been modified about eight different times. The two of them seemed to be led by the tall Pau'an standing before him with a DH-17 pistol pointed directly at his head.

The three men looked about as different as beings could look but they were all united by their yellow jackets that they wore; the Trandoshan wore a shoddy-looking one with one of the sleeves ripped off, the human wore a pilot's jacket and the Utapauan looked crispest of all with an ironed out flak jacket, like he was out of some holomovie about a gentleman pilot.

"There, there skipper, why you don't drop your weapons on the ground and put your hands in the air? I don't know human biology that well but I doubt another hole in your head would do you much good!"Telly commanded Godric. This fellow wasn't armored and he carried himself with the cocky swagger of one of those troublesome Force users. Killing him might be better in the short term but having a Sith hostage? That could be very good for Wetyin's Colony in the long run if things went south.

Oh boy - already getting some trouble and he'd barely stepped off the ship.

Raising both his eyebrows and his hands when he was requested to do so, Godric made no move to drop his weapons. Instead he eyed the men coming out to see him before his eyebrows lowered and he hummed a little bit. They might take sudden movements as intent - which was the only reason he didn't also lower his hands once he had managed to get a good look at the people who were trying to arrest (maybe?) him.

"Nice jackets."
he noted as he stood there with his hands up, moving to hold them at the back of his head as he grinned a little bit, "Be a shame if we bloodied them up by shooting each other, wouldn't it?"

Godric took a moment to eye their surroundings, gaze lingering on direction the old Jedi Temple was in.

"Seen any Jedi recently?"
he asked the Pau'an, before adding, "I'd hate to run into any - they'd ask such inconvenient questions."

He looked down at himself.

"Ah I appear to have raised my hands before dropping my weapons - want me to do that or will one of you disarm me, eh?"

"I know I may look like a freshly hatched varactyl but I'm 418 years old. I go over to disarm you and I'll have a saber at my throat and you'll have a nice little hostage. Drop the swag on the ground and walk our way, old sport. Spitspot now!" Telly commanded, wanting to project an air of authority. Although he seemed cool and collected, the back of his neck was sweating. Capturing a Sith was certainly impressive but they'd already used up the element of surprise and the risk of being bifurcated never left Telly's mind. Once the saber was on the ground, he'd relax.

Meanwhile, the jungle seemed to quiet around them and the airs seemed more silent too. Although the assembled party didn't know it, the battle had actually wrapped up, with any Jedi stragglers still left on the planet having been told to evacuate.

Godric smiled a little bit wider.

"You're a paranoid guy, aren't you?"
he grinned wider, "I like that."

Without moving his hands from the back of his head, Godric waved his fingers, using the Force to unlatch his weapons' belt. It hovered closer to Telly for a moment, the lightsaber clipped to it being the only weapon actually on his person. He raised an eyebrow before the belt fell to the ground between himself and Telly's group.

He slowly started to lower his hands, keeping them behind his back however to make it seem less likely he'd suddenly start throwing hands. Instead he relaxed a little bit.

"More willing to have a conversation now?"
he asked before shrugging, "Or do I need to be tied up first? Hey, I don't judge."

He totally judged.

Telly and the other Yellowjackets tightened their grips on their weapons and took a step back when Godric began to wave his hands. However, once it was clear, what he was doing, their positions relaxed. Telly gingerly approached and unhooked the lightsaber from the belt on the ground.

"Never had a chance to hold one of these myself in 400 years, if you can believe that. And what's this, hoho?"Telly said, gasping in surprise when a yellow blade popped out of the hilt.

"Well boyos, I've either developed colorblindness in the past hour or we have a case of mistaken identity. My apologies, Jedi. You lot may be a bit on the preachy side but you didn't invade my home."Telly said, prompting his Trandoshan friend to lower his blaster.

Before conversation could commence further, the human with the vibrosword suddenly held his hand up to his ear, trying to get a clearer read on what was being transmitted over comms. Telly tossed Godric back his lightsaber and lowered his pistol, raising a brow inquisitively at the Human Yellowjacket when he was finishing hearing the broadcast.

"The Sith...they've won...they're allowing all Jedi to evacuate."the Human said, causing Telly to snort with derision.

"Oh they're allowing them to leave their own planet, eh? Well isn't that awfully big of them, Jedi. You know, I happened to spot a one of those Imperial Lambda shuttles land close by. If the Imperials want you to evacuate so badly, then I'm sure they wouldn't mind you using one of their own ships. Plus, I've been meaning to pick meself up a new ride."Telly said, a devlish grin creeping onto his face.

Godric was mainly keeping his senses open to their surroundings, leaving the yellowjackets to their own devices. Was he confident he could survive if they decided to shoot him? Absolutely not, he'd die like immediately. But what he was confident in was that nothing he could do right now would change their minds if they wanted to. They needed to change their minds on their own so all he needed to do was give them the time and space to make it happen.

"Heavier than you expected right?"
he asked with a little grin, "Everyone always thinks they're basically weightless but the hilts have some real heft to them."

Accepting his lightsaber back, Godric clipped it back in place without complaint. No one was aiming weapons at him anymore so it'd be rude to act like he was upset with something they were no longer doing. Totally unreasonable some might say. Humming a little bit, Godric could tell that the human was right - Jedi were leaving. The fact that this was based on Sith orders was interesting to say the least.

Maybe they were sick of the violence?

Even Sith had to have a limit, a stage where even they could no longer stomach carnage for its own sake. It was probably just a point that was far further than most sentients in the Galaxy would be willing to go. After all, killing was not exclusive to Sith or Imperials but they did seem to have a greater taste for it.

"A lambda you say? Now that does sound like something of a good ride."
he grinned a little bit, "Now I've got my own ship so I'm happy to just assist you lads getting a lift of your own... shall we go and say hello?"

"Happy to. Gents, head back to the colony. Keep the holofrequencies on our normal frequency and I'll contact you once I've escaped the planet." Telly commanded, as he stripped the dead trooper the Yellowjackets had killed earlier of his blaster rifle.

"But Captain..." the Trandoshan protested before Telly held up a hand to silence him. Reluctantly and murmuring, he and other Human Yellowjacket retreated into the brush and back towards Wetyin's Colony. Telly watched them depart and smiled at Godric.

"They're good kids but green. Think they can take on the whole bloody Empire themselves. I made it through the Galactic Civil War and I can recognize a losing battle when I see one. These Sith are going to be here for a while but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Once we take this shuttle, I think I might get back in contact with some old Alliance chums, see if I can't get together a force to take this moon back. Course, maybe you know some rebels yourself?" Telly asked Godric rhetorically, hefting his newly acquired rifle as the two of them made their way towards the Lambda shuttle.

It would take a few minutes but Telly's practiced navigation and familiarity with the land made the journey quicker than it otherwise would have been. Eventually, they'd come to the edge of a large clearing in the dense jungle where, as Telly had related, an Imperial Lambda shuttle had landing. The Imperials were using this clearing as a mini command post, as an officer was communicating with another one all the way across the battlefield via holoprojector, while two troopers carried a third on a stretcher to a nearby medic. A handful of other troopers were milling about, giving a halfhearted attempt to look busy. After all, victory had already been achieved for them, why bother pretending the battle was still going on?

"How do you want to play this, Jedi? Pick 'em off from here or maybe you got one of those mind powers up your sleeve? Or maybe we just run in and start the old girl up? Ha!" Telly whispered to Godric, as he stayed hidden in the woods.
