"Mhac Na Galla" The blonde cursed as she felt her body connect with the floor of one of the training chambers, her eyes narrowing as she watched her training saber skid along the floor before coming to a rest and deactivating. Her hand moving up to the small of her back, grimacing as she tried to nurse the lingering sting from the droid's countering kick to her attempted charge. Groaning as she pushed herself back onto her feet, the teen Padawan scowled as she looked at the training droid as it returned to it's guarded state in preparation for when the young Jedi would resume her attempts to land a hit on the droid.

This was perhaps one of the few elements of her Jedi training that the young fledgling Padawan loathed having to undertake, studying to feel and use the Force would be her personal preference, and if she could have it her way she would be more than content spending the entirety of her training learning to use the Force rather than learning to fight with a lightsaber. However her master @Maxims Tionson, had stressed that the teen's training could not be limited to just one aspect of what it would take to become a Jedi, something along the lines of the Jedi Order not being a Pick and Mix in a convenience store... Whatever that had meant, the reference had gone over the primitive teen's head.

Still regardless of her preferences, Carlyn opted to head to the training regime that the Jedi Master had set out for her to follow. Having finished off her duties for the day and then made her way over to the training halls, tentatively asking one of the Jedi Knights to help set up the Training Droid to run through some basic drills to help her practice her form. The only short fall was that her form was lacking any form of finesse that the more experienced Jedi training around her were demonstrating, whilst their movements were refined and carried with poise - Carlyn's were heavy, cumbersome and more reminiscent of how the Knights on her home world, Irmenu had fought with their Broadswords.

Picking up the lightsaber hilt off the floor, the teen, looked over the hilt before pointing the emitter away from her and tentatively pression on the activation stud. Taking a deep breath, the blonde closed her eyes as she gripped the hilt with both hands, pointing the blade towards the floor. Thinking back to her time watching her older brother train with the other Knights, adjusting her stance - spreading her feet out and tightening her shoulders as she tried to mimic the starting positions that the knights would adopt during their sparing sessions. Opening her eyes the blonde focused on the training droid, before breaking into a charging run towards the training droid, electric sparks cracking off the tip of the training saber's blade as it was dragged along the floor.

With a heavy grunt, the teen swung the saber blade a diagonal upwards sweeping strike, her body twisting awkwardly as she threw her weight into the swing. The training droid without any effort side stepped the clumsy attack, allowing for the teen to loose her footing as her blade failed to make contact with the droid or it's weapon. With a few staggering steps, the blonde tried to regain her balance before trying to shift her weight back around on herself to swing the blade around herself as she tried to stay on the spot. Again the droid made light work of evading her attempt to follow up with another attack, stepping back before swiftly swatting the stun baton down to the back of the teen's knees, incapacitating her as once again she fell down onto the floor with a pained grunt.

Not much time would be left before Vaen left to continue her past exploration. Although her relationships with her peers were sub-par, and Yavin being her least favorite location, Vaen still felt like it was necessary to walk around for nostalgia's sake. It was a bit past noon, meaning everyone in the temple was up and awake. She walked through, seeing some familiar faces and some that weren't, before making her way to the training chambers.

The chambers were mostly occupied by padawans, honing their skills with the goal of becoming the future Knights that will protect the galaxy. Vaen sat on a nearby bench, just watching each one, studying them. Her eyes tracked onto a girl, who for some reason was dragging her saber on the ground. It was horrendous to watch, almost blasphemous. Training droids were not really tough as opponents, but to see it easily defeat a padawan gave her second-hand embarrassment. "How could someone train a girl so poorly.."

Vaen walked over to the girl's location and had the droid go somewhere else. It was clear the Padawan wasn't going to learn anything by fighting like a maniac and getting beat up by a machine. "Back up to your feet kiddo, I'm gonna teach you a thing or two." After the girl was situated, Vaen would continue "Are you just extremely weak, or have you not realized that a lightsaber is, well, light."

A questioning look spread over the teens features as the dark haired Jedi Knight approached her, speaking out to her as begrudgingly getting herself back onto her feet. Her expression narrowing as she tried to comprehend what Vaen had said to her. There were a few gaps in her understanding of galactic basic that allowed for an air of confusion to linger. Fortunately she had the small translation device that Drastrus had given her when she had encountered the two Jedi on her homeworld.
// Air ais suas gu do chasan kiddo, bidh mi a ’teagasg dhut rud no dhà. A bheil thu dìreach air leth lag, no nach do thuig thu gu bheil solas-solais, uill, aotrom. // the device spoke out with its artifical voice, bringing a swift look of comprehension and understanding on the teen's features.

"Cha robh mi a-riamh a ’cumail claidheamh no solas-solais roimhe seo." Carlyn spoke out as she felt her cheeks redden in response to a fleeting moment of embarrassment that was setting in, all the Jedi she had seen so far all carried these lightsabers on their person, and the teen could only assume they all knew how to duel and fight - whist she on the other hand, not so much "Bha mi nam maighdeann-làimhe air saoghal mo dhachaigh an aon armachd a b ’urrainn dhomh a chleachdadh ach Bogha airson cuideachadh leis na sealgairean. Is e an aon rud as aithne dhomh bho nuair a bhithinn a ’coimhead mo bhràthair agus na ridirean eile a’ sparradh leis na claidheamhan mòra aca.." The blonde continued after a brief silence, but resuming before the translation device she was wearing could air her words in Galactic Basic.

//I've never held a sword or a lightsaber before. I was a handmaiden on my home world the only weapon I could use was a Bow to help with the hunts. The only thing I know is from when I used to watch my brother and the other knights spar with their great swords. // The device dutifully rang out after the teen had fallen silent, her eyes flitting between meeting the gaze of the Jedi knight who had approached her, and towards the deactivated training saber held in her hand. A tentative smile crossing her features as she tried to visually give an indication of the length the claymore sword that her brother used to wield whilst he was protecting the kingdom.

Vaen was thrown-off by the translation device. At first, she thought it was something random spewing out nonsense until the girl started speaking in a strange language as well. It was something Vaen never heard in her entire life, and she's traveled quite a bit around the galaxy. Even some of the sounds were incoherent to her.

The robotic translation from the device was strange as well. It seemed odd that this girl was training before even being able to speak Galactic Basic. It would be hard for her to go on any missions. Communicating with civilians would be hard, even with a translator. Taking on dangerous missions would be even harder due to the lack of communication, but also including the Padawan's extreme lack of skill.

Vaen turned to her side, pulled out her own saber, pointed it forward, and ignited it. "Do as I do." She would wait for the translator before continuing. "See how it feels really light, and that you can hold it up with a single hand?" Without waiting for confirmation, Vaen went to the next step. She would quickly swing the saber up and down, but they were short swings. "Just do this, and feel how light it is. You should be able to do this for hours, almost a full day."

Next, Van would take the saber and just thrust forward with it over and over again. "You should also be able to do this for hours. I don't care what excuse you have, don't do what you saw your brothers do. Do what makes sense." Her tone was strict and disappointing. She would deactivate her lightsaber, put it away, and turn towards the girl, they were about 5 feet away. "I want you to try and hit me. I won't strike back at all, just do everything you can to hit me with your saber."

Nodding in acknowledgement to the Jedi Knight's words as they were translated into her native tongue, the young teen figuring that despite the almost lifeless tone of the device's speech, the tone that was carried by the dark haired Jedi's own voice, made it all too clear that she was being given an instruction. Doing as she was told, the blonde reignited her training saber and held the weapon's hilt with one hand, and in a similar fashion, albeit more awkwardly Carlyn gave the blade a quick series of upwards and down ward flicks - whilst in comparison Vaen's movements were graceful with a practiced form, the fledgling Jedi's own motions were clumsy in comparison.

The upward and downward motions shifted into a series of jerky forward thrusting movements, as the blonde motioned her arm into a simple stabbing motion her brow furrowed at how stupid she seemed to look doing the awkward motion, before looking over to the Jedi knight and watching her intently for a moment, seeing that there was more to the motion than just jutting her outwards and retracting over and over again. Pausing for a moment, the blonde adjusted her footing to try and mimic Vael's stance, before extending her arm forwards, moving her upper torso around to extend to a greater reach and carry some more force behind her movements.

Even going through what must be basic and rudimentary steps in the eyes of the Jedi Knight, the teen swiftly felt that these steps were more refined in comparison to the clumsy and lumbering nature that she had wielded the weapon as if it were a solid cumbersome length of steel like the broad swords that her brother would carry and wield. Her thoughts and motions came to a stop after Vael deactivated her saber, before turning to face her once again, and speaking out in basic. Her brow furrowing as she broke down the instructions in basic, picking up the odd fragment, before her translation device filled in the gaps.

Nodding in confirmation, to the instruction Carlyn looked down to the glowing edge of her training saber for a moment before holding the hilt so the blade was prone in front of her, followed by adjusting her feet so that her dominant side was presented forwards. Taking a deep breath, the teen took a moment to focus on the motions the knight had guided her through before moving forwards in an attempt to try and hit the knight as instructed.

After two steps forward, Carlyn swung her blade in an upwards swing that would raise from Vael's navel to her shoulder before swinging the blade down slightly and twisting her torso inline with her hilt to trust the blade forwards and towards the Jedi knights stomach.
