General Information

NAME: YD-P5YK0
ALIASES: “Psycho”
FACTION: Independent
RANK: Homicidal Maniac
SPECIES: Cosmetically Modified YD-Series Security Droid
AGE: 108
GENDER: Masculine Programming
HEIGHT: 5’9” / 1.8 Meters
WEIGHT: 105kgs
FORCE SENSITIVE: N/A

Appearance

P5YK0 is a legged, bipedal security droid made from armoured durasteel. Its paintwork is grey with orange trim. Since leaving the service of its former owner, Doctor Ryun, the droid has undergone reconstruction after its previous bodywork was damaged by falling debris. As a result, it no longer looks like a standard YD-Series droid, though its internal functionality remains the same (at least for the time being). It has a more skeletal appearance, though its legs now have reverse knees, giving the droid a more unsettling visage. P5YK0 has one photoreceptor (eye) in the middle of its face plate which is also fitted with infrared scanners, motion detector and range finder as per standard YD-Series droids. P5YK0’s two audio receptors and sonar sensors are located either side of its head. There is a commlink integrated into the droid’s wrist and a data card socket in its chest. Its I/O socket is located on its backside.

Attributes

P5YK0’s current build enables the droid to be quick and agile. Its powerful legs enable it to cover a lot of ground quickly unlike many of its robotic contemporaries. The droid has a decent amount of strength and is durable owing to its lack of organic body parts and organs. P5YK0 has excellent stamina for the majority of its 72-hour charge, though this reduces when less than 10% of its battery life remains. The droid’s intellect is limited to its core programming and data files, though as time passes and P5YK0 travels the galaxy, it learns more information.

Personality

Prior to his reincarnation, YD-P5YK0 did not have a personality. It was simply a standard model YD-Series security droid fitted with a restraining bolt and programmed to police the laboratory of Doctor Ryun. When the astromech T7-L4 (known as Teela) reassembled the droid using parts from other damaged droids, she removed its restraining bolt and re-programmed P5YK0 to do two things; 1) Obey the commands of “the great and glorious” T7-L4 and Alisaah Tila (for she is most trustworthy), and 2) destroy the AMS virus and any life form infected with it. To effectively carry out its task, Teela programmed P5YK0 to have, what appears to organic beings, to be a great deal of arrogance, self-confidence (which may at times be misplaced) and a penchant for violence and destruction. In alignment with P5YK0’s arrogant personality trait, the droid is also narcissistic, believing itself to be both a masterpiece and a one-droid army.

The droid often comes out with one-liners and has been known to swear – however the words usually come out as “ERROR” when it attempts to do so. When interacting with biological life forms, P5YK0 refers to them all as “meatbag”, usually preceded by an adjective to describe them (e.g., Poffo Sauvage is addressed simply as “Big Meatbag”). There are only three exceptions to this rule; 1) Alisaah Tila is referred to by her first name as mandated by T7-L4, 2) Doctor Ryun and any of his lab staff are referred to by their title and surname based on the droid’s original data files (though at this stage very few of these people would still be alive following the AMS breakout in the lab), and 3) Clones and test subjects originating from Doctor Ryun’s lab are referred to by their subject number (e.g., Aska Ryun is known as Subject AC-004).

A combination of the droid’s age, habit for getting itself damaged and Teela’s programming have resulted in P5YK0 being quite erratic beyond its core programming. In one instance, Alisaah Tila confiscated P5YK0’s blaster pistol, which made the droid appear to sulk as core programs 1 and 2 conflicted with each other. In another instance, following a turn of events in which fellow YD-Series droids abandoned their command to eliminate infected AMS victims and caused a ceiling to collapse upon themselves and P5YK0, the droid determined that its brethren had betrayed it and created a third core program to extract vengeance on all YD-Series security droids.

P5YK0 is also known to have a great deal of determination. Upon being damaged the droid will endure and if body parts lose function, it will source replacements for itself. The droid salvages and collects parts from other droids in case it requires replacements and, in some cases, may in fact tactically swap limbs if a spare is to hand to deal with certain situations.

Biography

YD-P5YK0 was originally produced in the days following the fall of the First Order by the droid manufacturer Arakyd Industries. After the company began mass-producing the YD-Series as security droids, P5YK0 was purchased alongside various others of his make and model to serve as a security team, though to whom has been lost to time.

Eventually the droid and several of his surviving brethren were acquired by Doctor Ryun who had a laboratory on Coruscant. The droids were, as they had been for many years before, utilised as a security team, guarding the lab from intruders, and ensuring that none of the scientist’s experiments escaped.

Sometime before 143 ABY, Doctor Ryun, supposedly under the influence of one of his scientific advisers began experimenting with a strain of the AMS virus, in the hopes that he could harness the original intention of the serum to turn his clones into super soldiers. He believed he could isolate the genome that gave subjects super strength, whilst eliminating the mind rotting effect of the virus. He was mistaken. Their original tests failed and though to begin with they were able to isolate their failed experiments, the doctor’s adviser herself became infected and they were unable to find a cure. The doctor observed that the variant he had created travelled slower through the body and created a weaker form of the virus but in a far more painful method, not waiting for the infected to die before transitioning them. The infected scientist eventually broke free and tore through the genetics lab and infected many of Doctor Ryun’s scientists and their aides. The YD-Series droids protecting the lab still recognised them as friendly, as if nothing had happened, but ultimately all but the head scientist became infected, and he was forced to retreat to his office.

During this time, the infected ran wild throughout the facility. There was no fresh meat to feed on so the infected mostly shambled around the corridors, occasionally attacking each other and the droids who remained patrolling the facility. P5YK0 and two of his brothers fell victim to several infected, lashing out in their hunger. The droids were damaged and put out of action in the Communications Unit until they were discovered by Alisaah Tila and her astromech Teela. The T7-Series set about repairing P5YK0 with parts from his fallen brothers and re-programmed him, removing his restraining bolt, and putting him to use as a battle droid in the fight against the AMS virus.

Joining forces with Alisaah and Teela, the droid commanded a small group of his surviving brothers as they strove to rid the path ahead of infected, which went well only for a moment before the others caused the ceiling above them to cave in, crushing them and P5YK0 beneath it. The Togruta managed to rescue P5YK0, but he was damaged and from then on branded the YD-Series as traitors and swore to eliminate them on sight.

P5YK0 accompanied Alisaah and Teela as they attempted to save their companion, Poffo’s, life and left Doctor Ryun’s laboratory with them. The droid parted ways with the group when the adventurers left Coruscant and went in search of repairs. P5YK0 went to a chop shop to get fixed, got talking to an enthusiastic young mechanic who was fascinated by the droid and his unusual behaviour and worked with him to design an entire re-working of his body work that would strike fear into his enemies.

The droid is now a drifter, travelling the galaxy by hitching rides, searching for more infected AMS victims to help cross to the afterlife and more upgrades to ensure it can carry out its core objectives with impunity.

Skills

P5YK0 specialises in combat and security. The droid is proficient in the use of all hand-held weaponry, including melee weapons, blaster pistols, rifles and snipers, launchers, and explosives. Its marksmanship is precise, and swordsmanship is of a high standard, having been programmed to be as such. P5YK0 can quickly analyse and identify people, objects, and substances due to its former role as a security droid, meaning that it has good skills in tracking and investigation. The droid can use technology, as is common for most robotic beings and is multilingual. P5YK0 has no medical knowledge of value to organic life forms and possesses only basic piloting skills.

Tools, Equipment & Upgrades

Acquisition of further tools, weapons and upgrades will be listed when acquired through RP.

Ships & Vehicles

P5YK0 does not currently own a ship. The droid is a drifter.
