Location: Rhen Var
Participants: @Talon maara @Sinbi ,@Enzo & @Marcus

The ship shuddered coming out of hyperspace putting the large white marble that was Rhen Vel into perspective. Kal Marth leaned back in his seat a moment taking in the view before pressing a few buttons on the control panel, preparing for descent into the planets atmosphere. He along with Kip Koom and Sarell Norr had been selected to survey the planet for sentient life forms said to be inhabiting the planets Northern Pole and if possible make contact. Setting the pilot to automatic he rose from his seat and ventured into the cabin of the ship.

" We are getting close to our destination so you better snow suit up" he said opening one of the bags in the seats, containing his snow suit and few medical and food supplies of his own for the trip. " And I suppose one of you have drawn up a plan of action"

though they where heading towards the green part of the planet he expected it be quiet cold, he was packing only his lightsabers and a long stick he took from the temple gardens, he was expecting a little resistance but he had his doubts their technology was advanced enough against their lightsabers and training in the force.

Sarell Nor wasn't sure whether or not he should be happy with the mission he was chosen for. They were expecting the natives to be ornery, which wasn't to his liking, but it was also a diplomatic mission, so the prospect of getting out of this without having to actually fight anybody was still on the table. Wishful thinking, he thought. He was brought to the present when Kal entered the cabin, having been staring out a viewport into the vastness of space at the white planet they'd be on shortly, looking very introspective and appearing to mentally prepare himself. Yeah, no, he was thinking up escape plans.

The wall of a man turned to face the shorter Jedi, who was already suiting up. He nodded sternly, and unzipped his own pack, containing a snowsuit and an oversized fur cloak that he threw over his back after suiting up. Gotta bundle up. He was packing medical supplies and his lightsaber, along with a slug pistol he kept with him most of the time. He cleared his throat, "We set down, scan the area, then follow any signs of life until we find the locals," a pause, "If that doesn't work, the force will guide us. Hopefully they offer us tea instead of spearheads."

Talon stood. Glancing at Kal and Sarell he nodded. Doubt filled his mind as he looked towards Rhen Vel, as he had never seen such a planet let alone set foot amongst its ice covered lands.

"If anything happens brothers," looking towards his companions "keep your heads down, if anyone gets hurt? Il do my best to patch you up" this had been his third mission as a jedi once he left his dark past amidst the sith. So his nerves had been shot for he knew what the sith were capable of and didnt want anything to happen to his new found friends and brothers.

Kip started to bundle up preparing for the worst, searching as far as he could reach with the force hoping to feel any unwanted presence, for Kip preferred to diplomatically solve problems over physical persuasion.

Turning to the two he interlocked his 4 hilts upon his belt; Preparing for their landing he stepped towards the bulk head.

" I also have some first aid training from studying the healing arts from my old master so we are all in good hands having two medically trained jedi on the team" he said trying to urge more confidence his companions. Now finished suiting up he produced two devices from his bag and threw them to the Jedi " These scanners should be able to pick up signs of life although I wished I could have brought my R2 unit along, it has better scanning equipment but the cold does not agree with his parts"

is a sudden beeping from the cockpit computer and the seat belt light cam on signalling their arrival to their destination cutting kal off from his train of thought. " Looks like w're at our destination" he said quickly moving back to the cockpit of the ship, flipping a few switches on the dash, bringing down the ship to a safe patch.

Kip turned to the bulk head as it dropped. The cold wind blew in taking his breathe away. Kip closed his eyes and quickly muttered a mantra, easing his nerves.

"Lets go. Keep a decent distance so if it happens we can cover a greater distance." His mind raced as he scouted their surroundings. "So far so good, This weather is going to be the death of us" kip laughed looking to the other jedi.

Slowly Kip emerged himself in the depths of the cold. Letting it all sink in, he covered his hilts in attempts to conceal them from any pearing eyes they could not see.

Good, this is good. Two Jedi with medical training, Thought Sarell, counting his lucky stars as his boots made heavy thumps on the already chilling steel of ship floor leading up to the exit ramp. When the bulkhead opened, and the wind hit his face, already chilling the tips of his blonde mess of hair and the brown fur of his cloak. He gripped the fur a little closer and trudged out into the weather, glancing at the device Kal had passed out.

Sarell let out a chuckle at Kip's... joke. He wasn't one to make fun of death, but it pays to appear at least a little personable. There were three blips, Us, he thought, and a dozen or so flitting, flickering dots to the North. "Looks like we weren't wrong!" he bellowed over the wind, and pointed a gloved finger to the North. "They're far, but they're here!"

" Then we best get moving preferably before we freeze to death" Kal yelled over the wind, he produced a small remote from his pocket, pressing the button causing the ramp to retract before he began to walk forward, his scanner held out in front of him. He was indeed correct, three or more blips appeared on the screen of the scanner appearance to be due north, scanning around the area found nothing but frozen tundra for hundreds of miles but most of his vision was obscured by a wall of white mist and that made him wonder what kind of life forms would live in a place like this.

Sarell's boots crunched in the patches of softer snow piled upon the icy landscape. He fell in beside Kip and Kal, the three marching towards their destination against the wind. During a period of silence, Sarell took a moment to look over his current companions. One was quite young, a human, the other of a species unknown to him. They were good people, from what little he learned from the brief exchanges during the trip over. He hoped they could take care of themselves, because he certainly wasn't going to.

The mist began to subside the closer the three got to the blips on their scanners. The readings were still off, three blips, a dozen, five, he huffed a visible cloud into the cold hair as he began to suspect Kal of giving him a defective device. He brushed that thought aside when his crunching footfalls found much more solid ground. He looked to the frozen dirt beneath them, and the icy patches of snow became less frequent. He could feel the biting cold slowly subside into a nipping one.

Well, where they were headed seemed habitable, at least.

"So!" he yelled over the wind, "Think they speak basic?"

"Who knows!" Kip hollered over the wind, "i sure hope so! Im not too good with anything other than basic!" Looking back at the other two jedi as their silhouettes faded in and out from the storm over head.

Kneeling down Kip moved aside some of the frozen particles trying to find some form of life other than their own. This reminded kip of his forst mission on hoth. The frozen planet where he had gone to learn how to cope with extreme weather during his training.

Kal looked at the screen of his scanner, the beeping became more frequent thinking the frigid cold had affected the scanners circuitry causing them to give off a false reading but he too had noted the greenery and dirt poking through patches of snow.

" The scanner readings says we are getting closer but I cannot sense any presences through the force" he yelled over to his companions. He gave the side of his scanner a few shrill taps with his gloved hand hoping that there would be a change in the readings. Heavy readings but still no life in sight, he preyed that they where not about to fall into some sort of trap.

Kip stood only pressing forward, He had hopes that they were close by. 'North' he thought over and over. 'North'. The wind was ever so painful as its chilling lips kissed upon their faces.

Kip climbing a small hill he had hoped would be able to overlook somewhat of the area, only to disappear within the blizzard only for the snow to fall out from underneath him. Sliding rigorously down the slope he came to a halt as his head popped against a stone.

Looking back up towards his departure he heard voices....a childs voice. Looking around he seen a small figure run off into the wall of snow that had been placed purposly behind him.

"Guys i think i found something."

Sarell's fingers, toes and cheeks were starting to lose feeling in the bitter weather. He took a deep breath, the fresh but sharply frigid air filling his lungs not much help, but after a moment's focus and some faster walking to warm his body up, he came across-- No, it would be more accurate to say he stumbled into a wall of frozen rock. The fog in the area broke, and the shivering trio were met with the sight of a massive natural wall of rock and ice and snow jutting hundreds of meters upwards from Rhen Var's surface, a small canyon tearing a winding path through the middle of the impossibly high rockface. The vegetation and earthy surface were more prevalent down the way, but anything further was obscured by a bend in the canyon.

Clutching the fur of his billowing cloak, he called back to the others. "This looks promisi--!" He turned just in time to witness what looked like a spill, possibly, the snow and fog made it difficult to tell. He clapped Kal on the shoulder, nodded, and marched over to Kip, still sitting in the snow looking around. He extended an arm to help him up. "What did you find?" he asked, but halfway through helping his fellow Jedi a few voices came through the swirling snow. A child's laugh, a grouchy harumph and a few strange whistling noises, followed by a high pitched call that faded quickly. Whether they were surrounded, or simply passed by an expedition of the locals' own he did not know.

Sarell pulled Kip up and then close, whispering into what he approximated the sentient's auditory things were, "We don't know if they're hostile or not. We should be very, very cautious, mirror movements, and nothing too sudden. And for the love of the stars don't draw your lightsaber." He did the same with Kal.
Please don't be murderous tribesman, please don't be murderous tribesman, please don't be murderous tribesman... he thought to himself worriedly, contrast to his stoic and ready outward demeanor.

Kip chuckled, as he was requested to not draw his sabers. Kip hated with a passion using violence to solve matters. He enjoyed conversing and diplomatic relations. But kip nodded in response anyways to not offened sarell.

Looking back from once he fell "before we leave i think il have a go at that again" smiling he turned and continued to press forward, hoping to establish a visual of some sort.

As he claimed more ground progressing forward he ensured his hilts were hidden. Calmly he looked towards the other two, acknowledging he was ready for what ever happened next...

Kal followed behind, keep an arm at his side where his lightsaber was mounted to to belt hidden underneath the thick coat he was wearing. If it came to it he could pull some force techniques to scare off any hostile tribals looking for a fight. The sudden appearance of greenery confirmed to the trio that they where drawing closer to their objective.

" I'l try use force sight to see if I can pick up anything " He said, he took a sharp exhale of breath, channeling the force through himself and to his eyes making his vision sharper and more focused. In the distance he could only make out a few dim grey silhouettes unable to make out their initial shapes. He turned to the two companions " I can see something in the distance"

Kip over heard Kals claim of something in the distance and pressed on through. After shortly passing the massive wall he could see large structures of ancient design unknown to his knowledge.

"Intriguing...." Kip commented as he gazed upon its beauty losing his train of thought.

Kip looked back towards his fellow jedi, in amazement. He had seen many architectural designs but none of this elegance. Being the man Kip was he knelt down, and bowed his head in reverence for he embraced this new experience with a heartful of gratitude and many thanks in the force for bringing him upon this sight.

"Strange. Why haven't we been able to sense them?" Sarell asked, running jittery fingers through frosty hair. He was used to the cold, having spent a majority of his life training on Illum, but the long trudge through the howling winds would have any man shaking like a leaf. He pulled at the fur of his cloak a little tighter around him and squinted in the direction Kal indicated. It took a moment of focus, but he confirmed the two figures with a nod, before glancing down at his perceptive ally. "Yes, well, we should probably leave them to hunting, or whatever it is they're doing," Sarell cleared his throat immediately after speaking, hoping the others didn't take that as derogatory. He'd spent more time in urban environments and enclosed enclaves than anywhere else. It was to be expected.

He turned and followed Kip into the canyon, the wind funneling and blowing at his back rather than, well, everywhere. That was a relief. He approached the kneeling Jedi, glancing around at the marvels the locals had presumably created. Arching bridges of frigid rock, intricate carved pathways and little smooth buildings that seemed to flow into each other like a river of stone, the only obvious separation being carved out entrances. That was all well and good, but Sarell was more confused as to why there were no locals around. The place looked abandoned.

He gave Kip a moment to finish embracing the experience, then motioned further down the canyon. "There doesn't seem to be anyone around. These could be ancient, and they might migrate further in and back during whatever passes for seasons on this planet." A decent enough hypothesis, sure, and presented in a stern and academic tone, but in reality Sarell just didn't want to stand in one place for too long, especially in a creepy abandoned canyon with holes that could be hiding vicious hunters. He wanted to be able to engage is diplomacy, but it's difficult to do so when you've been stabbed in the back before you can even introduce yourself.

Kip rose slowly, looking to their rear ensuring no one was following them. Kip walked with his hands interlocked at his back, and swiftly towards the other end of the canyon.

"We are being watched" he suggested avoiding looking about to try and not scare off the possible pearing eyes.

Looking farther north bound down the canyon he could see figures gathering and a few of them started to approach. Glancing at kal and sarell nudging their focus to the other end.

"Who wants to do the honors?" He questioned. Seeing that it was better to establish a confidence in a leader of a group per say rather a whole Group with the lack of one.

Like a child Kip touched his nose, smiling with his finger tip, well rather the space where one would be for his lack there of.

When asked Kip who would do the honors and then proceeding to touch his (lack of) nose made Kal raise an eyebrow, any move they make from this point on would be a permanent first impression on the lifeforms they where about to make contact with. He cancelled his force sight and tilted his head for a second in of waiting for one others to volunteer for the task. He had considered possibly using a show of his force abilities to draw them in, after all he was not all that good with this diplomatic stuff, he could just keep his own padawan in line...not that Kip and Sarell needed to know that.

" Guess I shall step up to the plate " he stepped from the group cautiously ensuring that there was considerable space between the three before drawing upon the force again this time using his telekinesis to pick up three pebbled from the ground and drawing them to his outstretched palm, levitating them in a circle above his palm.

As Kal raised the pebbles Kip raised his left hand and using his Elrectric judgement he slowly pulsated its emerald hue towards the sky as if calling upon its will from the heavans. Emitting the greenish glow as they both extorted their gifts. Kip focused deeper with his off hand and Moving it towards Kals stones he released it upon them as they glow electrified with elegance. Kip looked to sarell as he wanted him too, expose his powers to the people in hopes to help place them in awe.

Oh thank goodness, Sarell thought when Kal stepped forward. He was confident in his own diplomatic abilities, but unconfident in the local inhabitants'. For all he knew, the culture of these people dictated meeting newcomers involved attempted murder, and he'd prefer a bit of room if things got dicey. He relaxed his shoulders when Kal stepped up, now focusing on the approaching... locals. They were human, that much was clear, and they wore animal furs over thickly layered wrappings. Sarell hypothesized those high pitched noises a little while back might have been a domesticated beast of some sort, but he couldn't know for sure.

When Kal got his wizard on, Sarell felt his jaw almost drop. He kept his features neutral, but glanced in Kip's direction to see if he was showing any signs of worry. Sarell would have intervened and had a few words about primitive cultures and their propensity to worship anything that looks like magic, or worse, try to kill anyone who looks like they're using it. What. Why? You too? What is happening? he thought when Kip joined in.

Sarell furrowed his brow and shook his head at the other Jedi. He didn't think obtuse flaunting of abilities bestowed through the force was the best course of action, but he stood beside them nonetheless, adopting as much of a non-threatening stance as he could, give his size, and hoped for the best as the tribesman approached.
