AGE: 19
SPECIES: Near-Human (Echani)

HEIGHT: 5'7
WEIGHT: 115

EYE COLOR: Pale blue
HAIR COLOR: Silver
SKIN COLOR: White/Pale
MARKINGS: A silver and grey moth tattoo at the nape of his neck

RANK: Sith Assassin

A pearlescent, luminous figure, Ylandis’ timeless beauty can make just about anyone swoon. Despite standing at 5’7, proportionally, Ylandis’ possesses long, strong legs that propel him forward in a daze of grace and beauty. Often times, he appears distant, like his icy blue eyes are looking yonderward, lost in thought and time. Because of this, people often think he lacks attention, but in truth he hears everything. Rather, Ylandis suffers from a perpetual lack of disinterest, perhaps due to his troubled past. Everything Ylandis has done has been to better himself, and as one can imagine, it can get quite tiresome.

If one were to look at him, they might see the beginnings of bags beginning to form under his eyes from long nights and troubled thoughts. Often times, they lean in to observe his painfully proportionate features – his ethereal beauty has gotten him and quite a few others into trouble in the past. Regardless, with silver hair often left styled in a quaff, the handsome features of the boy and the regal way in which he adorns himself are more than enough to garner a few people’s attention.

Wrapped in the arms of his would-be lover, Ylandis gently drummed his fingers on the strong, burly arm that wrapped around him. It was difficult to do much else as he gazed into the darkness, the hospital-like stench of the starship causing him to shiver and instinctually retreat back onto the unconscious man’s chest for warmth. Yet as he laid there, painfully awake and his mind racing, Ylandis couldn’t help but to twirl and wriggle his digits intricately across the man’s limb, gently pinching and restyling the coarse hair that grew on his forearm. Something about this felt wrong.

He’s just another target… Ylandis thought to himself. Times like this were difficult, but no longer uncommon. The aging teenager missed the days when everything was black and white, when he understood that what he was doing was truly for the benefit of the Brotherhood. Now, it all just seemed so blurred. He used to be a sharpened weapon, sent into battle. But as he grew more adept in his training, the boy’s purpose shifted from that of a warrior into that of an assassin. And now, he felt like nothing more than a glorified whore. Ylandis was good at killing, but this? Acting as an informant, stationed as an agent just waiting to receive kill orders? It was hard to fathom how he had wound up in this place. Two years ago, he would have still been classified as a child, and still could be, depending on the culture. It was obscene; here he was in the arms of a Czerka Corp official, promised so much, yet here was, about to receive so little. The mental turmoil was damning him to a place he knew he couldn’t comeback from. 10 months, he had laid in wait. 10 months, he funneled information through blacklisted servers and private communication channels so the Brotherhood would have a leg up in the business sector.

He couldn’t help but wonder if the Jedi did things like this, but then he realized that he knew the truth. At the end of the day, his destruction was all that they hoped for: The Jedi had cost him his mother, his first glorious Master that had taught him so much, of his culture and of the Sith. Then they had costed him his older sister, who died protecting him on what was supposed to be a diplomatic mission. He had lost everything he held dear, and the Empire knew it. Perhaps that’s why they were doing this to him. It had to be a test; the Supreme Leader and her Council may very well had thrown him a life line. This was his chance to be happy.

I’m not finished yet. I won’t leave the Brotherhood, not when I have the future of the fallen to carry on…

Still, he couldn’t help but shuffle the arm underneath his pillow downward, digits intertwining the man’s own laying behind him. The ring he had received gleamed brightly; it was a pretty piece of jewelry. He could have been happy. But this mission was over, and he had a choice to make.

Ever so softly, he untangled himself from his partner, and moved with the refined, ethereal elegance his people was known for to the edge of the spacecraft. Several feet from him, a mechanical whir started up as he used the Force to retract the alloy sheet that darkened the ship. Starlight twinkled in; the ship was in space, in orbit around Serenno. A wave of relief washed over him; he felt at home. He had begun his training as Brother when he was very young, following the path of his father, and it was only when his mother, pressured by her Sith overlords and followers to educate him in the way of the Force, removed him and took him as her apprentice that he went down this path. Part of him regretted it, but part of him reveled in it. As powerless as he felt over his life, he knew that he didn’t lack power. And that power would give rise to his ascent; no longer would he allow others to control his emotions. He understood now – this was a lesson, to make sure that his recent promotion wasn’t a fluke. As great as he was at killing, the boy’s loyalty was never tested. His loyalty was unwavering until now, and even with a chance at happiness, he knew that this was just to be a taste.

Bayir.” His voice was soft, delicate even. Only those in the Brotherhood knew that he was a Sith, for Ylandis just didn’t seem the part. He seemed like porcelain, so easily breakable. But that was the furthest thing from the truth.

Bayir.” Ylandis kept his voice level, raising it slightly. The man underneath the sheets stirred, confused. He asked a question, and the assassin shook his head. “Nothing, I’m fine. I just… I want to apologize for last night. And thank you. I’ve learned a lot this past year, from serving you, to accompanying and growing with you. I… I would apologize for what I’m about to do. But I don’t regret it. This was just another lesson; this taught me the values of patience and instilled in me a higher thinking. Nothing is ever easy, and nothing is ever clear at first. At first, I felt cast away. But in truth, they knew I needed time to recover. I needed time to love. I needed time to heal, and finally feel again.” He paused and felt a tear drip down his face. Despite the light that shone in from the stars and reflected off the planet’s surface, the ship was still dark enough to where Ylandis stood in shadow. Bayir was speechless, confused, and still slightly drunk. He didn’t scream or feel anything as the ring that once decorated Ylandis’ hand shot across the room like a bullet, straight through his head.

Ylandis’ pristine, eloquent nature and speech pattern aids greatly into his profession. Serving as an assassin and information broker, he lies, steals, and kills his way to glory, or at least his twisted version of it. As an Echani, hand to hand combat is something that the boy is very, very skilled at, however, it has also aided tremendously in his capacity to use a lightsaber too. His form is very distinct, a mixture of styles II, IV, and VI. The first two styles serve as the basis of his personal form, with his willingness and desire to combat worthy challenges, giving way to intense study of dueling form. Coupled with Ataru’s ferocity and Niman’s pragmatism, the way in which Ylandis conducts warfare is elegant, refined, and aggressive. In truth, however, he rarely gets the chance to battle Jedi anymore. His second master, a sorcereress in need of an assassin, trained him intimately with aspects of the Force.

Telekinesis, hiding his presence, sensing, and using the Force to tap into the minds of his targets are something that Ylandis has become very adept at. However, because of his intimate knowledge with these things, other force abilities have fell to the wayside. That isn’t to say he can’t form lightning or heal himself, but they’re definitely not up to par with his primary abilities. As such, he spends a lot of time reading up on them in order to better himself. Like all Jedi and Sith, however, Ylandis is more than capable of using the Force to aid him in combat and often does. This, coupled with his natural dexterity thanks to his Echani training has led to him being quiet the nimble and acrobatic foe.

When all is said and done though, Ylandis isn’t the strongest physically. His body is comprised of lithe, wiry muscle, and because he stands at 5’7”, he just so happens not to have the most domineering presence. Should he face a larger opponent, there is a good chance Ylandis can be overpowered if he isn’t careful, and even with a resistance to Force abilities, he is by no means a consular or sorcerer. A strong enough Force push can send him sprawling.

Regardless, Ylandis’ background as an assassin has opened him up to a number of other talents as well. While only average at piloting (he would much rather man a turret or gun), he is quite adept at slicing and fixing (or corrupting) droids. Additionally, he speaks a few languages, notably Galactic Basic and Binary, and can understand Huttese well enough to hold a basic conversation. He does have prowess with blaster pistols, though anything more complex than a rifle needs a bit of work.

Haha, thank you both! I'm definitely game for some threads, though I'll probably hold off on joining any subfactions until I flesh him out a tiny bit more. I'm really bad about writing a character and stumble-trip-falling down a different path than I originally intended.
