Ive been thinking about buying this game, I'm actually really close to buying it, but I'm not sure yet. I just have a few question that I hope some of you can answer.

What is the crafting like? I know that it's done through your companions and such but that's about it all. I know is crafting was one of my favorite parts of the only mmo ive played (SWG). Can you trade things you make or is it just for personal use?

And a simpler question, what's the comunity like?

The game isn't bad but honestly I would say wait until an expansion or two is out and some tings are fixed... Also the community sucks the people are usually dicks who won't help unless you give them the majority of the stuff. At least in my experience.

Crafting is a pretty big fail in this game, unfortunately. The item drop rates are high enough to negate the need for anything aside from item mods imo.

However, if you can get your hands on a few popular orange schematics, youll be the most popular guy on your server. There's a few level 10-15 craftable oranges that go like hotcakes on the GTN.

Unfortunately there's also craftable stuff like reusable medpacks or mounts that are basically limited to the crafter, as they either bind on pickup or require a high skill level in the same crafting skill required to make it.

EDIT: Unlike Wendy, I've actually found the community to be incredibly helpful. You'll often find people who buff everyone they come across, and if you need help with an instance there's always people willing to tag along.

Practically nonexistant. I think you can only communicate with other factions via /say.

At least there is communication, it wouldn't make any sense to me if there wasn't.

Some of the planetary faction restrictions still don't make any sense to me, but I see why it's there.

If you have the time and the money to invest in it, probably not a bad buy.

>.< my crafting is stuck, everything I can make requires lost fragments, I farm areas that should have them I pull up prehistoric usually, same with the craft missions or the GTN has zero ( though I may have to check the Nar Shadda one )

I sell my crystals like mad though, those go fast - not so much the shields/enhancements or hilts.

Community wise I like it. You will meet people who will go out of their way and bleed themselves dry to help without so much as an inkling of hesitation or reward... though like all MMO's you will find people whom wig out at the drop of a hat, grief like their is no tomorrow or think the developer needs to cater to them 100% **** everyone else...thats unavoidable, though I will say they are fewer than Ive seen in most games.

and depending on the server, I would gladly drop anything
Im doing to help in anyway if anyone asked, I see no reason not to- it just makes things that much more enjoyable for others.

In the next patch, the reusable stims will be no longer be Bind on Pickup and crafting is getting a boost.

Really? What do you mean by boosting crafting?

I've found the community very helpful. This is the first time I've ever played a MMO so I know **** all. Normally I ask Adena any questions I have but, if she's not online, I'll ask in the general chat and people have always been able to answer for me.

I'm on PvE (Ebon Hawk server) so I only fight NPCs, but a lot of people will also help you kill NPCs. Obviously they're also going for XP, but it's still good of them to help out if there are a lot of NPC enemies. I've come across a lot of people who will give a Force power boost to me before they leave too.

It's a pretty good community.

And if need be Brandon I'd offer to help with heroics too, though at my level it would nerf your xp gains down to near nothing at this point so, yeah consider it a good thing Im not doing that- :P

but still as it goes there are plenty of quests, both main class and side quests that you should be able to get to a point even solo without doing heroics ( at least not that often) or PV, or ops and still be 3 to 5 levels ahead of any given world

( that being like ....say Taris is 17-20, you land on taris at 20 and leave at 24, or 25)

I do have a few alts I may have to turn to soon enough though.

but yeah back to the community- it's been a good one. Half my actual friends list are people Ive formed a party with at random, and we will still help each other out time to time, many of them will send me several crafted items out of the blue, like...might armoring 18a or some such to help me stay on par with the equipment scale etc.

Per your first point, it'd give him a massive XP boost cause of the end of the quests and a shitton of commendations though!

Also, I'm considering re-rolling my stuffs. What does teh guild need currently?

evhmm may not have considered the pay out total...I think Im counting the fact people get hurt when they rack a whopping 5xp a kill- though that has me thinking the " owner " of the instance is what makes or breaks the xp span.

At this point I'd do it and flashpoints purely for the social farming, Im way behind on that.

hm, Im not sure off the top of my head- at least as far as full spectrum goes. Healers and tanks perhaps, though Dont quote me on that exactly last I checked was a few days ago, and we are looking at the mid 40 members now so the balance may have changed.

I've seen 50's still do Esseles social runs. Absolutely zero challenge whatsoever, but you average 130-160 social points depending on group size, which is pretty good for a flashpoint.
