Most of Kayden's life so far has been the standard fare for a Jedi. Trained from a young age as a youngling, then became a Padawan learner. Kayden mostly distinguished himself through his constant drive to push himself further and his utter inability to follow basic protocol. On many occasions the teachers and masters considered stopping the training of the maverick young Jace but the overall good nature of the boy's instincts and willingness to accept consequences for his action and to learn from them has kept such punishment at bay... so far.
His sister leaving the order was the one event that did make him question his allegiance to the order as a whole but in the end he chose to remain with the Jedi rather than break off like she did. Not because he didn't think leaving would be more fun or pleasant, but the very opposite. The Jedi Order was a constant challenge to Kayden, and as such he found the endeavour more worthwhile than going off and make money as a smuggler or whatever Casalina would be doing.

Kayden uses humour in almost every aspect of his life. Whether to bring life to the party, taunt his opponents, lighten the mood in dark times or as his own defence mechanism; if there is a joke to be made, Kayden Jace will make it. This can cause problem for him and others on occasion but while some might try and avoid the consequences of their words or action Kayden makes a point to stand by them and live with the consequences no matter what they are. Regrets and denial never led to anything good and thus he refuses to feel either. Once he makes a decision he will see it through to the end. If it ends badly, he will look back on what went wrong and fix it.
In combat Kayden keeps the same outlook as the one he has on the rest of his life. All in and if you can throw in a joke even better. Kayden focuses on the Form V: Djem So style of lightsaber combat. Being tall and deceptively strong he lures in opponents through taunts, blocks and faints before viciously countering. He tried most of the other Forms in practice but none of the others really suited him, not having the patience for the defensive ones nor the self control required for the more aggressive styles. the middle ground approach of Djem So being best suited to him.
The biggest flaw in Kayden as a Jedi is undoubtedly the fact he can be prone to anger. He knows it can lead down dark path but when truly frustrated either with himself or others Kayden has yet to truly keep his anger in check. He tries, he truly does, but the path of the stoic Jedi Guardian is most difficult for him, though the very fact it is difficult makes it all the more worth while to him.
In an odd twist of the overall carefree attitude, Kayden actually has a dislike for easiness. Whether it was in his studies or training, the moment he found something easy, he found it boring. The difficult tasks, the advanced moves and manoeuvres, those were what always attracted him. The positive side of this is obviously the need to always push himself further, the negative is that whenever the challenge is gone, Kayden becomes disinterested and thus never truly mastered any skills he learned.
