Zhu Li An was a Force-sensitive human female who trained as a Jedi Knight, under the tutelage of Jedi Knight Gerard Demici, until her disappearance following obscure events before resurfacing as a Jedi Exile. In the final decades of the Great Jedi Civil War, she was born on the planet Tion ere being sent to study at the Jedi Temple on Ossus.

▵Biography

Zhu Li An was born on the planet Tion in 6920 BBY. The child of two seafaring lovers, she spent her early years gallivanting the endless oceans cradled by the myriad of legends about the Blue-Eyed God who watched over the merpeople. She was loved dearly, but it became apparent as she aged that her parents couldn't provide what she needed, nor what she deserved. An astute child, she started exhibiting her abilities with the Force before she was two years old. One fateful night, her mother decided without consulting her husband to put the baby on a shuttle destined for Ossus where she knew the child would be taken in by the Jedi Order. Zhu Li An would never know who her parents were, nor that she had not been unwanted or even that the act that had led her to the Jedi was born of selflessness.

For several years, she studied at the Great Library. She would attend classes usually reserved for much older students. Before dawn, she would be awake reading, absorbing every bit of information she could, for perhaps more importantly than her intelligence, it was her discipline and innate curiosity that distinguished her from the other Jedi initiates.

At the age of fifteen, she travelled to Jedha and was assigned to Jedi Knight Gerard Dimici who mentored her in the art of lightsaber combat. The two formed a close bond, but as she matured, she began to ask questions the Jedi couldn't or wouldn't answer. She challenged the inherently evil nature that the Jedi Order attributed to the dark side of the Force and questioned the rigidity of the Jedi Code. Eventually, Zhu Li An experimented with the dark side and succumbed to its pull, an attraction the laxity of her Jedi training had not taught her to resist. In the aftermath of the Tragedy of Ilum, she requested to be assign to another mentor and exploited the confusion within the Jedi Order to leave its ranks.

▵Personality and traits

Priding herself on her intellects, Zhu Li An takes every opportunity to improve her knowledge and dispute preconceived notions. A shrewd tactician always up for an intellectual challenge, Zhu Li An can see things from many perspectives. She trusts her rationalism above all else and obstinately reject arguments based on emotions. She makes her way through the galaxy with a pertinacious resistance to interruptions. Faulted by a hubristic belief in her own self-proclaimed genius and her irreverence for social conventions, she can be brutally insensitive. Overcritical and apathetic, she chose the people she aligns with meticulously. She disdains authority figures who blindly uphold laws and rules without understanding their intent. Anyone who prefers the status quo for its own sake, is likely to clash with her.

▵Powers and abilities

Zhu Li An is a skilled lightsaber combattant trained primarily in Ataru; she has received some instructions in the early levels of Niman and began to learn Jar'Kai, wielding a second green-bladed lightsaber, during her time on Jedha. Her technique consists of rapid switches and feints, darting from one side of the battleground to the other to exhaust her opponent. Zhu Li An possesses a strong connection to the Force, and often uses it to perform Force Jumps and other acrobatic feats. She is capable of executing extensive telekinetic feats and is skilled in the use of the Force push. She is also a talented pilot and shows promise as a war strategist. Zhu Li An has manifested a considerable knowledge of biochemistry and astrophysics.

Zhu Li An wears a Jedi Dueling Armor and is currently in possession of two standard-length lightsabers (one red and one green).
